It's official. Halloween's four months away but I'm going to dress up my uncle's dog and my dog as Sherlock and John, respectively.

Of this, pix I would luv to see.

Just curious, but how many people are spectating my roleplay thingy with Fox/Bakerstreet Irregular?

I will confess to peeking at it from time to time! (Is that considered okay?) Right now I'm waiting for you two to get a few scenes ahead. Er ... how was dinner?

It's okay if you do! :P I'm trying to conserve my time here (since the adults who created me only allow me a certain amount of time on the PC) so we can go on.

I've been following, too.  Like Arcadia, I kinda prefer to save up several posts and read them all in one go.

Isn't going off to Florida supposed to be a good thing? :D

In January, yes.  In late July, not so much!

And she doesn't have internet connection that means the RPG is on hold until she gets back. And yes, high summer is a miserable time to visit Florida. Even the natives stick close to the air conditioning.

And it's getting into hurricane season as well.  :(

Haven't had time for the news much lately, but now I'm watching the news from Amsterdam. Wow. All those people, so sad, so stupid. Sympathies to anyone who has been affected by this.

I rarely watch / read the news either, so I had to Google "Amsterdam" to see what you might be talking about -- victims of the passenger jet shot down in the Ukraine, being brought to Amsterdam for identification.  I'm really angry about the whole situation in the Ukraine, let alone shooting down civilian aircraft.

Yeah that is really sad & scary honestly. I used to keep up with the news. Now I'm starting to feel life is too short. The news hardly ever inspires.

That's absolutely the way I feel.  They report all this depressing stuff that I can't do anything about.  And if there's something going on that I need to know about, I seem to find out about it one way or another.

I think that's the way the media is these days. The thing is to get on with your own life and try to do interesting things that you enjoy like walking, reading, music and of course - 'Sherlock' - don't let the b*****s get you down!

I normally try to keep up, in my family it's un-American to be uninformed! :D But the news is not what it used to be, that's for sure ... too many ad execs running the show. But if you stay away from the cable shows I think you still can get some idea of what's happening in the world.

What I hate now is the increasing intrusion of "feel good," human interest type stories. It makes me think the world must be getting to be a really bad place if everyday kindnesses are now considered "news." Sigh. Bring back Edward R. Murrow!

My oldest sister and her husband love to watch the news. They have Fox on regularly. I like the the local stuff in and around Maine...but if I'm home alone with Laydee....then I don't even bother turning the TV on. I do like to read the news paper....just a quick skim if nothing catches my eye.

Yeah, I'll skim the headlines as I pass a newsstand, or if I happen to be on a web page that has news headlines in a sidebar.  I'm not a recluse, but I generally have more important things to do with my time, including this forum.
