Speedy's Cafe - General Chat about anything you like!

[jesskayding]

That was hilarious. He made the funniest faces!

[Arcadia]

God bless him, the idiot. I just love him more all the time.

[Bakerstreet Irregular]

LOL!

[jesskayding]

I've tweeted this video & showed people @ work. Hilarious!

[Caya]

There seems to be an unofficial White T-Shirt meme going with this challenge:

Not that I'm complaining, mind you . Bit disappointed that he didn't nominate Martin Freeman but I'd be afraid of his retaliation too .

Oh, and happy belated birthday, sherlockandjohn!

[Ruthyone]

I'm celebrating my birthday by watching 2-3 episodes of Sherlock tonight and one of my colleagues gave me a homemade Sherlock birthday card. Sweet!

Happy Belated Birthday - Hope you had a good one

[sherlockandjohn]

Thank you Caya and Ruthy! It was nice, and yesterday my big brother took me out to dinner as my birthday gift. So sweet

[Arcadia]

So, sadly, that makes three. Hopefully we can all relax for a while now.

Alas, we've lost another one, the great Richard Attenborough. Age 90.

[Bakerstreet Irregular]

RIP dear Richard.

[Carol the Dabbler]

I first remember him in The Great Escape, made in 1963 when he was in his very late 30's.  (I had a bit of a crush on him.)

[jesskayding]

Wow. He had a really full career.

[sherlockandjohn]

His movie, Cry Freedom, is one of my favorites, as low-budget as it probably was. Cinematically, it's fine, but nothing special - however, the (true) story is very gripping.

[jesskayding]

Please keep holding on Betty White!

I saw that one as a teenager and bawled my eyes out . Powerful film. Plus I saw A Fish Called Wanda the following month, and the sheer difference between those two roles made me forever respect Kevin Kline's craft.

Haven't seen A Fish Called Wanda... any good? Probably is, or you wouldn't have brought it up

Yes, Cry Freedom is very moving, sad, but also uplifting. To me, it's really a story about courage. That's what I take away with me when I watch it, anyway.

[Caya]

A Fish Called Wanda killed a man via death by laughter, and no, I'm not kidding. Very British, very dark comedy at times but also got genuinely heartwarming moments. And incredibly funny - you should give it a try .

[sherlockandjohn]

Well, at least that's not the worst way to die.

[Bendydoodle Cantaloupe]

That's absolutely terrifying.

[jesskayding]

I would love to die from laughter.

[Carol the Dabbler]

Well, I guess if it were a choice between dying of laughter or dying of terror -- not sure I'd really care for either option, though!

[Bendydoodle Cantaloupe]

Random thought: If I ever became a Moderator on this site, I probably wouldn't hold that position for long, because I don't wait 'til April Fools to pull pranks.

[jesskayding]

I'm like having the most awesome cup of coffee right now. mmmmmmmmm

Now I came across this. His career died from laughter. I felt bad for him because he was caught off guard, and I could relate to laughing @ something really inappropriate per just couldn't contain myself. I actually started laughing along per he was laughing when he should not have been.

Ok so I finally finished art project that was due for art contest by 12 midnight.

I posted the process via tumblr:

[Arcadia]

I like that, what media did you use?

[jesskayding]

I used ink & gouache on illustration board.
