Our six cats stay indoors all the time (though they have a nice enclosed porch where they can go "outside" and watch the birds).  We not only have coyotes around here, we've got owls, hawks, eagles, foxes, and possibly a few other things that would just love some nice kitty tartare.

It does seem to be common for coyotes to socialize (and "sing") in groups, Fox, but my impression is that's different from hunting -- or at least it used to be.

It very well may be. I have only seen that one solitary. So I can't really say either way with any confidence. Maybe the loners don't sing when on the hunt?

I hate to see anyone get hooked on caffeine at such a tender age!

No big danger there - dogs and tin cans don't mix so well :D. Our doggie is a very diligent fetcher and bringer, and basically taught herself stuff like running up to the mailman (who knows her little stunt), taking a letter or small parcel from him, then proudly bringing it in to whoever she finds first (or who's closer to the kitchen, where the treats are ). I can also give her something and tell her to bring it to my husband and vice versa, and she does so. Well, one time I tried that with a can of Coca-Cola, forgetting that she has that occasional habit of happily tossing stuff to herself as she carries it. Well, long story short, a tossed tin can is under pressure, and its walls are no match for Rottweiler canines, even if said Rottie is careful. She got a mouthful of Coke, and while she did take another one from me to carry up, she did so very, very gingerly :D.

Oh wait until kitteh learns to do that then step on the "Enter" button. No end to the fun and chaos that ensues.

My ex's Maine Coon once managed to jump on the keyboard and hit Ctrl, Alt and Delete at the same time . He was also fond of lying on the monitor (nice and warm) and letting his bushy tail swing down to block the view at critical moments.
