....Didn't someone once quip about not eating animals she'd been "personally introduced to"?

Yes she did, and now it's driving me crazy that I can't remember who it was!

I had no luck with googling for the quote so far, but I'll keep trying, Arcadia!

Budweiser seems to be happy with the success of their Superbowl ad (the one opening this thread), judging by their latest one:

Meet Schiphol's Sherlock:

That's like the best commercial I've ever seen! I love that he returned the Woody Cowboy doll to that kid, you cant get more real life ' Toy Story ' than that!

Alas, on NBC news tonight, they announced that it's not real, it's just something the marketing department came up with.

Damn!  I assumed that they'd oversimplified the presentation a little -- but a total fake?  Just see if I ever fly KLM now!

Note:  We're not the only ones who were taken in -- a number of major news outlets (including CNN and Fox) reported the story as fact, so there are retractions all over the internet tonight!

And the video is still posted on KLM's official website, with no retraction.

*sigh* Yeah, it's a fake - sorry for falling for it. Not nice, KLM. I hope they get pestered about Sherlock so much at Schiphol that they have no choice but to really start employing a dog team now :P.

Interesting that the Dutch term for "Lost & Found Team" is apparently "Lost & Found Team."  The way the team actually works is pretty cool -- too bad they didn't just show that in the video!

"The search often began with a seat number so that a name could be stuck on the object. Soon Through Twitter and Facebook, our sleuths were trying to figure out where the travelers in question went. Sometimes they just have a drink at the airport, as reported in a tweet or Facebook post, coffee and they were pleasantly surprised that they already got back the stuff, "says Ruempol.

A real sleuth as in the promotional video that KLM posted on Twitter this afternoon, is not part of the Lost & Found team. "The dog is purely to symbolize that the team is actively searching for the owners of the objects found," laughs the spokesman.

Well, this one's not fake anyways:

Welcome to the forum, June! If you ask me, the drone (and its owner) had it coming :P.

Seems he was one of triplets but his mother ate the other two.  There's a lot to be said for not being mummy's favourite ! :o

At 1st glance looked like a puppy. Hmmm I wonder if the others were premature. Animals in the he wild will a lot of time eat their premies.

I've been meeting a lot of these guys lately:

They seem to have discovered suburbia the way the rabbits did. When I walk home late at night, I see them in people's front yards, and they seem to just love the graveyard, too. You can get really close to them, because instead of running, they curl up into those prickly little balls when you approach.

Oooo !  A hedgehog !!  I believe we don't have them here in North America.  It's probably just as well because I would be forced to open some kind of hedgehog rescue mission for orphaned and injured critters ... like my neighbour the "raccoon lady" ... and pretty soon there'd be no room in the neighbourhood for people !  :o Wait a minute ....  :D
