My house in Ontario had a screened-in sun porch and some summer mornings it was almost possible to see the yard through the squirrels literally hanging off the screens.  Squirrels aren't fond of Terriers, though ... even ancient ones like my sweet, little Angus was then ... and they dispersed pretty quickly when the dog stepped onto the deck !  :o

Here in New Brunswick, my neighbor saw a bull moose ambling down the street, but we have very few squirrels and many of them are red squirrels ... the little ones ... as opposed to the grey squirrels ... much bigger ... that were prevalent in Ontario.  The only one I see regularly is Rocky ... a red squirrel who lives in a missing block space in my neighbour's retaining wall at the end of my south driveway.  He loves my bird feeders and seems to live in perfect harmony with the goldfinches and chickadees.  Maybe we should make him Prime Minister ! :D

I know a musician who owns the farm where dr. Pepper was invented. 1 of his former band's songs I dubbed the rogue squirrel song from the music video. It was anime of his house and the problems he and his wife legitimately had with squirrels. They thought they owned the place instead of the humans owning it.

The squirrels were at least half right.  In any dispute with neighboring squirrels, that house was indeed theirs.  But property rights do not extend beyond species lines, so their claims were irrelevant to the humans and vice-versa.

Oh, the poor thing -- must have been terrified!  Hope it was finally able to escape safely.

Well, I've heard of a bird bath -- now I've seen a bird shower!

What kind of bird is that?

Awww!  That's gotta be some exotic breed -- any idea what?

If you're talking the cat, it looks like a tabby for it's markings.  Possibly a mix of a tabby and something else with it's pretty blue eyes.

But that chocolate-brown color is very unusual -- especially with the blue-green eyes (though it may be young enough to still have its kitten eyes).

Here's a brown cat with pale eyes -- but its fur is sleek.  And here's a fluffy brown kitten -- but it has amber eyes.

Yeah, I think dem's just it's baby eyes. This one's so little it's hard to say what s/he will grow up to be.

Fun fact: all cats are tabby cats! The tabby patterns just show up better on some breeds than on others. But genetically, they're all tabbys.

Right, you get, say, an all-black cat in the sunshine and look at the top of its head.  I just about guarantee you'll see faint stripes.

I defy you to find the stripes on an all-white cat, though!  :P

The pic description said British Shorthair, Carol, and judging by the head that sounds about right.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving (wherever regionally applicable ).

Corgis! Oh, I love corgis. That one on the chair is simply adorable. I need to go and find cute corgi pictures right now. Better not, though - they'd only make me want to have a pet, which is simply not possible with my work load at the moment, at least not without involving an inhuman level of neglect.

Since it's getting close to Holiday Season (see ... I'm being politically correct ! ), don't forget that you can help endangered animals buy adopting a species at risk from The World Wildlife Fund (WWF).  It's not prohibitively expensive and the cuddly stuffed-toy replicas of your animal will delight children and adults alike !  I sponsored a polar bear last year and this year couldn't decide between a hippopotamus or a hedgehog (some of you might be familiar with my personal affinity for hedgehogs !   LOL  !  :D  )  ... so I got both !  Remember the creatures !

I saw one of these little guys in Zooborns yesterday.  So cute !  I never cease to be amazed by the many incredible animals I've never seen or heard of before.  You can sometimes lose track of nature's diversity ... it's good to be reminded.  My new "kids" arrived from the WWF today.  I can hardly wait to get home and see them !  :D

Maybe he's re-inacting the backfiring car scene from SiB. :)
