Yeah, well, congrats. :D I am free of all those browser games myself - I used to play them a lot, too...

Toast for survivors of browser games' madness, us.  :naughty:

Guess we have gone a bit off-topic, though...

So to get back on the track -- Bubu is my actual nickname, my real name is Barbora but almost everybody calls me "Bubu". My dad gave it to me when I was little - it is from the stories about two bears - Yogi and (in English it seems to be) Boo-Boo. (However, we pronounce it shortly).

With my avatar, I am not very original. I chose Moriarty because I really really like him. Here, I could write a list of reasons but everything I have to say has already crossed your mind.

The pool scene, because that is where he made the biggest and, obviously, the first impression. Andrew Scott is doing a great job.

Also, the first time I saw him in "The Great Game", with certain little things he reminded me of Heath Ledger's 'Joker' (and I love Heath Ledger, too). :)

Hi Barbora, think I remember that cartoon. This one, right? ^^

Heheh... yeah, the Joker (although Jim certainly much better looking, and clad in those suits..... XD)

I love Yogi & Boo-Boo. When I saw your username Bubu, that was the first thing I thought of.

Aw, that's nice. People around me rarely remember that it's from those stories...

Thank goodness your nickname really is from Boo-Boo the Bear!  That's the first thing I thought of too, but I was afraid to ask.

:D That's really nice... Why were you afraid to ask?

Well, in case that was your actual name, or meant something really poetic in Slovakian.  And then here I come with a silly little cartoon bear!  :D

Years ago a client, working on regaining custody of her kids, told me that every hour of every day she had to choose: heroin or heroine? It stuck with me. I was always really pulling for her, and she gave me some hard insight into the battle of addiction.

Definitely a memorable insight.  And in the context of this forum, it sounds like a female version of Sherlock.

Posted

in this context, she does for sure. In reality, she just wanted to be a normal person who takes her kids to school and makes them supper. She hasn't been on my caseload in years but I chat with her when I see her downtown. She's still battling her demons and still talks about her kids as though they were the same age they were when she lost them.

I'm pretty invincible when it comes to my job but there are a couple clients that get through my robot-exterior.

When you say she lost her kids, I assume / hope you mean lost custody of them, but that's still sad.  Does she ever get to see them now?

Posted

Yes, they were placed in their father's care. I haven't seen her around in a few months but she has always had access to supervised visits. Networking tells me that she is inconsistent in attending though which, given the extent of her issues, is not surprising.

Sounds kinda like somebody I know.  Sad.

Sorry I never introduce myself properly.

Not an 'introducer' in real life also, but definately can contribute here.

Normally I use translation/meaning of my real name for forum.

But since the last time I active in forum (years ago), anonymity becomes precious and necessary for me, there are too much exposure out there.

Van Buren Supernova moment in Sherlock is always fascinating. First time I watched it, my jaw was left open, Fantastic!!

I was awestruck like John, and a lot of realizations started coming through, this show is really special, a keeper. Spent the next day in office with Sherlock withdrawal and watched the rest of the show again and again.

Avatar, I am a sucker for silhouette. So much so that I only use silhouette even for private account like Facebook, mostly because I dislike taking picture or posting picture. There are a few silhouette moments in Sherlock, very good one at the beginning of TGG. But the one I use as avatar is the best imho. In TEH when he went back to Baker Street with Mrs. Hudson holding a frying pan ready to whack anyone who came through the door but Sherlock.

Benedict Cumberbatch has excellent and distinctive body language in portraying Sherlock, with excellent music score on that particular moment. Best!

Almost ruin my tablet by playing this scene repeatedly, and again for trying to get a good screen shot.

Hello! I'm Matilda and I'm here to explain my username and avatar!

So 221bbakerstreet_ came from my Instagram username :) when I was looking for a new name on IG and I wanted 221bbakerstreet but of course someone had taken it :( so I went with the next best thing :) And I love it

Now my avatar is pilot Sherlock. I mainly chose this one because I had it in my camera roll

BabyBatch, my god hahahaa. I like it how you can do just about anything with his name and it keeps sounding funny.

I've not a new avatar. Me at the Sherlocked convention. That is as close as I'm gonna get to me and Benedict in one picture (sad)
