So you'd be a perfect detective, in other words :D

Um... not with my brain, I wouldn't... I suck at deduction and observation, and my visual memory is lousy, too.

The avatar just had to be fox, of course. Originally I wanted one wearing Sherlock's deerstalker, but then my graphic skills only stretch so far, so the only thing I could think of to make a fox look particulary smart were glasses. So here I am, a fox wearing glasses :)

I was wondering how you'd managed to find the perfect avatar -- congratulations!

I've characterized Arcadia the most. In my mind she's like an Elmo like personality full of Awe & Amusement with every post. Funny!

With that said, maybe I should change my icon back to J-Lo! Although I'm quite attractive in person. Not J-Lo or Laura Pulver attractive. I have been told several times, that I look like a black version of Gina Davis. I can see that... ( minus the crows feet - Black don't crack, at least not yet @ 36, every one thinks  I'm like 26 years of age upon 1st meeting me).

Join the crowd on not looking your age.  4 years ago I had a lady thought I was 22 when I was 32.  Turned out we were the same age & both weeks away from birthdays, hers was first.

Am I the only one who kinda thinks of people as looking like their avatars?....

I look exactly like mine.

So that's why my ears have been burning! Actually in real life I'm quite dour. :P

Don't believe her for a second, Schlauer Fuchs! T.o.b.y is very perceptive. In fact, she may be reading your mind at this very moment.

By the way, welcome to the forum!

HHhhhmmm changing my Avatar.......I don't know. I am quite fond of Stonehenge actually.....but yeah....Sherlock Fox on the violin with the Hound and The Speckled Band in evidence.....that is quite tempting. But I think I will give Schlauer Fuchs first dips.

Found these on the web. Really love the second one.

I was wondering what that misty figure behind the fox was supposed to be -- and I guess I could believe that it's The Hound -- but the Speckled Band???   Oh -- wait -- that's supposed to be a snake crawling down his arm?  *shudder*  Definitely creepy!  Not sure how well all that would show up at avatar size, though.

If only! Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to read minds? If I could choose one super power, I think I'd take that one. Or invisibility. Invisibility plus walk through walls might actually get one almost as far as reading minds. *Sigh*... life as an ordinary mortal is pretty limiting.

I second that! Reading minds. As long as I can block out what I want!

Nope that's not a snake, Carol. I found the original picture and on enlarging it, it's smoke from the pipe that Sherlock is smoking.

The hounds teeth on Sherlock's hat remind me more of a snake

I thought those where teeth too but after looking at the enlarged image, those are the ties to his ear flaps on the top of the hat.

Ha Carol, I wouldn't have given that photo another thought... looks like the fox is farting. :o

OK, so no "Speckle Band" after all, huh? Too bad that whole picture is so dark that it's hard to make out what's what.

... which reminds me of the old saying that my uncle quotes when somebody lets loose: "If the fox is the finder, the stink lies behind her."  Which I think implies that the person who mentions the odor is probably the one responsible for it.  (Which makes no sense, but it does tend to keep people from commenting on such an "aroma" if my uncle happens to be around.)

Still trying to decide whether the smoke forms a picture -- it does sorta look like it has "eyes."

Ha! Silly woman......it's smoke from his pipe.

I'm sorry, I don't see no pipe, I just see some misty type substance taking the form of smoke. That Fox looks like it didn't want to put down the violin quite yet, so it just let It RIp!

You have to enlarge the picture but yeah, he is smoking a pipe. It's what looks like the head of what I thought was a snake.  "Bad for breathing, good for brain work".

Also I do see the pipe now. They should illustrated the smoke more in the left front to the back. So that the pipe would be more obvious.

It must be the power of suggestion, but I keep seeing the snake !  What's that on his right shoulder ?  I think I need my eyes tested, I can't make it out.  I don't look anything like a teddy bear, BTW, and have no teddy bear-like characteristics ... although I know some people who would find bear-like appropriate. ;) Do teddy bears really go round and round the garden ?  That line makes me laugh every time I hear it.
