Dear sfmpco, just perfect! Absolutely brilliant! Just what the doctor ordered ( no pun intended on either Dr Who or Dr Watson ) to start the whole What do you see... thread catching fire again! As J.P. stated somewhere, nasty Moftissess!

So he's neither gay nor straight? Somehow that doesn't resolve anything .....

He's ace - THIS might help :)

That's a pretty cool write-up, J.P.  Not sure it applies to Sherlock, but it might -- and even if it doesn't, it's pretty cool.  I'm sure a lot of people have wrong impressions about asexuality, and the author of that piece kept it light and entertaining, while also explaining very clearly.

Yeah. I wish I could read that, or something similar, at least 20 years ago.

I think sexual people have problems even imagine asexuality. But it is also works the other way round - I never could understand how the rest of the population seems to be in a constant rut.  ;)

Yeah,, I'm not sure I see him as true asexual but more celibate for the sake of the mind and the work.  All about the mind, not the transport.  Any kind of time others spend time thinking about sex is not the way he uses time in his life because it takes away from his brain development time.  But he does admit to looking at porn on John's computer.  Probably in his bored, bored, bored moments.

Dear sfmpco, thanks for posting, it was really funny, It is not about Sherlock per se, although the puppet wears the coat and signature blue scarf, it is about BC not being able to move without being besieged by female fans until he reveals that Eddie Redmayne lives just down the street, whereupon he is left to his own devices as the horde of fans scream down the road after their other idol. Tried to get the image, but could not copy-paste, sorry!

Benedict Cumberbatch is besieged by screaming fans, pledging their undying adoration for him... until he reveals that Eddie Redmayne lives down the street. Suddenly, poor Ben’s doorstep is deserted, as the girls rush off to declare their love for Eddie.

Interesting results.  It's amazing who does the poll and how it was done can give different results.

That is amazing. It must be bigger than it looks, surely?

Our local Lego store has a bunch of that kind of thing: the US Capitol building, the Parthenon, a giant teddy bear, etc. It's worth visiting the store just to see them. Oh, and you can buy individual Legos there, not just sets ... it's awesome.

Not sure where else to put this... but Louis Moffat who played young Sherlock in HLV just opened his own Youtube channel and made his first video which is an interview with his dad and mum although primarily his dad.

Alas, that idea (with the same exact photo) was already submitted by Flailx, considered by Lego, and finally rejected about a year ago (see this thread for details).

And to go with the Lego house above....

That's a new / different Sherlock and John, though.

Dear sfmpco,

Please remember that Mr Depp used the exact same finger positioning in Pirates of the Caribbean and in The Tourist, so it's a chicken and egg story. He could have been imitating the Sherlock sketches in the ACD stories, but if you watch The Black Pearl ant the Journey to the Ends of the Earth, he does hold the pose, not to mention his prayerful pose in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and in Alice.

He is even more versatile than BC, in some ways, the Sun does not revolve around the Earth, no matter what Sherlock may think!

You're right, Inge -- that's a fairly common pose, apparently worldwide, and ACD's Holmes explicitly used it over a hundred years ago.  I guess it's kinda like The Scarf -- a lot of us had never noticed the "European Knot" before, so we thought (till we learned otherwise) that it had been made up for Sherlock.

It's not funny, it's rather beautiful, with both gentlemen having such long, elegant, aristocratic limbs, not excluding sensitive fingers. One can only dream of being touched by such hands,so both Vanessa (JD) and Sophie (BC) are two lucky ladies! ^_^
