Yeah,, I'm not sure I see him as true asexual but more celibate for the sake of the mind and the work.  All about the mind, not the transport.  Any kind of time others spend time thinking about sex is not the way he uses time in his life because it takes away from his brain development time.  But he does admit to looking at porn on John's computer.  Probably in his bored, bored, bored moments.

 

I really hope it's not only Mrs.Hudson's Youtube videos.

Yes, he does. And he also indirectly denies it's to look at porn:

Magnussen may collect information, but he is no slouch when he needs to put 1and 1together to make 2, ( the whole mathematics community is still fighting over whether two and two should make four ^_^) , so if he knows about the confiscation pattern and John's preferences, he can safely draw such a conclusion.

Sherlock knows exactly where to look.  That's how he knew Irene's measurements and identify (wrongly) the body in the morgue.  He gave her a thorough visual going over.

I've never thought of Sherlock as asexual.  I'll just ditto sfmpco and say I assume he represses most everything sexual for the sake of his mind/work, and as a safety mechanism since caring is not an advantage and all that.  I thought the porn preference normal thing in HLV was interesting.  I suppose if you had asked me if Sherlock looks at porn prior to HLV, I would have said no because that would be a waste of his time.  But clearly I was wrong.  I 100% buy that CAM's info on Sherlock is correct.  Dunno how or why I'm so willing to believe his info, but he seemed like a pretty thorough guy.

I think he looks at porn on John's computer for a technical reason:  browsing history can be traced and porn sites are notorious for housing computer viruses.  Sherlock wouldn't want his own computer compromised in any way, but John's stuff is expendable.

I have always assumed that Sherlock confiscated John's computer, it was because he e.g. was to lazy to walk across the room to get his own. He probably checked what John was interested in out of curiosity, but I didn't understand his line as if Sherlock was using John's computer for watching porn.

Me neither, I understood it to mean he wasn't. Or, at least, denying it.

 

Man, even a throwaway bit like that is ambiguous in this show..... !

I don't remember, where is the discussion about using John's computer in relation to the screenshot where it says porn preference normal?

In a different episode -- in fact, a different series, I believe.  Porn preference was of course in "Last Vow," whereas borrowing confiscating John's computer was in "Scandal in Belgravia."

 

But Sherlock didn't say anything about looking at porn.  He merely said if he wanted to look at naked women -- so maybe he does, maybe he doesn't even do that.  And I suppose morgue photos would qualify as naked women in Sherlock's opinion.

Yes, I meant the discussion on the show.  I wasn't sure if it was even the same ep.  I'm falling behind on my Sherlock rewatching and am forgetting details about the show (shameful, i know) thanks to the upcoming XF reboot and my cramming for that.  ;)
