Hmmmmmmmm............. Is it a torch? Or a lighter?

Or miniature flame thrower? (I know it's not but I really hope it is :))

Posted

Sorry not the last 2 as the final picture (that I will show you when this is solved) would not have been possible.  And it is not exactly a torch either but getting a lot closer with that.

Some kind of fire starter for barbeque,

or signalling device light those safety light for bicycle?

Posted

Not a fire starter and not a signaling/safety light either.

Think of its size and what function (useful or otherwise) that it could have.

Posted

Flashlight?

Posted

Flashlight and torch are the same thing and its function wouldn't be used in the same way as those.

Posted

Getting close with torch but different function..

Is it a flare? But why would you buy a flare?

Is it a lipstick.? But what does it have anything to do with torch, but it brightens the look of the face. Eh? No? XD

What about highlighter? But you said it's not pen. Technically it's not.

Or a taser gun? :p

A candle?

Nothing with flames/fire as it wouldn't work in the housing it's in. All of that would melt.  We know it's small because of the size in comparison to my fingers.  It's not a torch/flashlight but light has something to do with it as I said before.

Glowstick?

Posted

We probably too focus on the light?

So I have 180 degree turn and guess that it is something else, but it has built-in light to make the main function easier.

There are couple of things come to mind; USB drive, small microscope, powerbank, small portable speaker?

(Am I really lost now :p)

Still looks like a tube of ... something ... to me. Is it?

Reposting the picture on this page.

Not a glowstick as it does require electricity to work.

Not really a tube, the outer casing is plastic & vinyl rubber and not attached to a USB drive, microscope of any size, powerbank, or portable speakers.

Think of adjectives for its size, and a certain 5-letter word that has been brought up which you're really not too focused on because that should be the focus.

Mini LED light switch, like those for Christmas tree?

A keychain?

Posted

I'll take the first one even though it is not for a Christmas tree and the light source almost seems to be in a coil shape like a compact fluorescent light without being one.

Here is what it was in when I accidentally acquired it on June 5, 2015:

The deduction I had a while back with the musician, this is a balloon he was given by some fans.  The merch guy had it as he was doing closing inventory and I accidentally got off him.  The light was noticeably glowing until November or December.  The balloon finally deflated enough about a week or so ago and I flipped it inside out to look at the light source.  It takes 2 small flat batteries and has no shut off switch.  The dark spot towards the top of the balloon is where the light is attached to the balloon.  I am likely to flip the balloon right side out so that I can undo the thing holding the light to the balloon.

It lasts for almost half a year? Wow..

Like the back story,

If you filled it again and change the battery, would it work again?

Posted

It probably would and the light hasn't burnt out yet.  With it outside the balloon in a dark room, the light is still noticeable.  And I believe the light might be blue not just the balloon it was in.

I have soft spot for balloons for various reason: it was once the most luxurious 'toy' I had, I also found out that orange juice (liquid from the fruit) would make a balloon explode in your face, and once I stay in a very small town where a newly-opened supermarket flew a hot air balloon for advertisement, it became the landmark of the town because there was nothing else, and everytime there are balloon distributions for marketing purpose on the street, I have to hold the urge to grab one, not because I am ashamed holding a balloon, but because it doesn't make good companion for motorcycle riding. There..unrelated morning gibberish.

Okay...this one, I am sure yo guys will get it rightaway.
