Good god!

I still have another hellish day tomorrow.

But I'm happy now today is considered over. Managed to cut it short and escape quite a lot of socializing.tuzki-bunny-emoticon-024.gif

(Hiding from deduction for now)

*sympathetic grin* See you both tomorrow.

I've practically given up on guessing on this one as I don't have a clue and the clues aren't helping. I second the head pounding.

I am prepared to torture as many bunny gifs as needed.

One of these is lukewarm? Only? Yes, I hate them.

But again, all clues seem to ccontradict each other so pass me a bunny please.

- Skin??

I guesses leather and it's wrong, but the texture and perceived thickness is very skinlike. Other clues kind of match, except commonly found in Asia and physical changes on texture with water contact. Because skin is waterproof.

- insect house?

Again, physical texture changes permanent with water, because this is normally put outdoor, unless the change serves its purpose. Now this one is probably the least contradictive, however, why on earth you put this on nice looking plate?

- tensile?

Con: Waterproof. Asia. Absorbent.

- egg crate/similar/papier-mache

Con: Asia. And you don't need anyone to help you shape this, unless you need to use a prop and the help could be just 'holding'

- wrap medicine/bandage/medical plaster

Con: Waterproof.

- artificial knee cap??

Merely for the shape. XD

- internal part for speaker, insulation, geotextile

Con: Asia

- electricity part, conductor..

Con: absorbent

- cheese?

Well, definitely not this one. :P

- taxidermy?

Again. Why on plate? And absorbent. No.

I am not getting anywhere..and need to go. Gah..

giggle-skype-smiley.gif Right, Arcadia, CAMPer & VBS already give my cues to release the next clue. The dotted mystery smells a bit like ammonia from the final processing stage.

 Are you making fertilizer?

Oh, by the way...

 Are you making fertilizer?

No. What is your fingers doing in a toaster?

I'm torturing a bunny.

Are you making a bomb?

Posted

No but this thing can be turned into a pranking tool from the silly kind :D

Posted

Like yourself, you mean? :p

You're making a whoopee cushion? :p

Posted

Whoopee cushion never smell like ammonia.

I want to make a quick attempt and run away.

Ammonia! (Ah.. I should have known? --> does this count?)

I was thinking of that clue unique smell but everything smells unique to me.

Anyway, is it some sort of pest trap?

Pesticides, but maybe you don't want those around your dog, but still, you can make it for somewhere else.

What intrigues me is, why plate? Why nice plate? Is it necessity because you can't find anything else? Ammonia fgs..

Or maybe you are making dye?

Arcadia Presents: What We Know So Far

It looks like this (or did)

mvm4h0.jpg

It is NOT made of:

Paper, plastic, styrofoam, vinyl, foam rubber, leather, dough, copper, polymer, polypropylene cloth, plasterboard, cellulose, non-woven fabric or hydrocellular substance

It is NOT any of these things:

Plants, humus, a sponge, fertilizer or mold

A strainer, mesh, something wearable, part of a vehicle, pvc sheet, baseball related, part of BBQ grill, prosthetic turtle shell, potato masher, a tool, bomb, whoopee cushion or the other kind of mold

However:

Sea sponge or bamboo is moving in the right direction

Long ago, parts of it used to be part of living being

one of these is close to the principles of the building process: skin, insect house, tensile, egg crate/papier mache type thing, bandage/medical plaster, artificial knee cap, speaker part, insulation, geotextile, electrical part, cheese, taxidermy

It IS:

Something useful, but it could be used as a prank

Sitting on a plate

The end product of a long chain of chemical and mechanical processes

Something Shadow is making, but it can occur in nature, but not necessarily in that shape

Given the nature of the substance it is no wonder the end result is something like that

In time it will look more uniform

The holes are part of the process, but they are not for air drying

It has these properties:

Any liquid absorbed will change its physical structure permanently

It absorbs chemicals -- in a way. But that's just happens to be something it does, not its purpose

Squishy but not puffy

Unique, ammonia-like odor

Not wanted in the kitchen. No, wait, it is, but not by Shadow's housemates

Inedible. No, wait, it is edible, it's just that Shadow is picky and wouldn't eat it

Common in Asia

Okay, so now:

I have some free time today, so I get as many d**n guesses as I like. Deal.

Is it organic? Inorganic? Or a combination of the two?

Do the holes serve a purpose? Or do they just happen to be there?

How long did it take to make it look like this?

Which chemicals were used in it's making?

What is the diameter, in inches or centimeters, of the plate it is sitting on?

Is the plate necessary to the final outcome, or just a convenience?

Is this a prank?

Why are you torturing us?

Have you stopped laughing at us yet?

Yep. I feel their pain right now. :p

tuzki-bunny-emoticon-035.gif

It is quite common in Asia, especially around the location of your previous 'mysteries to solve'.

Not a pest trap nor dye-related stuff.

The plate was chosen for durability.

It is organic-based

Holes have some purpose

Chemical - Answering this equals with explaining the whole process from A to Z. Sherlock might be interested, with him being a Chemist, but for most people it is a perfect reading material to help with chronic insomnia.

Plate is 20 cm wide.

The plate must not react with the stuff but it is also convenience at the same time.

Nope, not a prank.

Because die-hard Sherlockians who frequents this thread have insatiable curiosity and loves to play with puzzles.

Geez..

You can be assured that my mind is blank now. But pass me another bunny, I shall not give up.

However, you sure it's Asia? I think it must be Serbian. Arghhh..

Is it some procession of composite wood making or relate to it. Well, in Asia termite is formidable foe. :p

Oh liquor! Some Asian liquor taste or smell like ammonia. Chinese, I guess. Not that I have ever tried.

Fermented food, soybean? Something you don't like but it's actually food? There are stinky food.

Maybe a rug? Or part of it?

Part of refrigeration? But I guessed part of aircon and you didn't even want to look at me. :p

Is it shark meat? Well, it does have ammonia taste. Not that I have ever tried. And please, leave them alone.

What about durian delicacy. Well, stinky fruit that evacuates the whole plan because it has ammonia smell.

Is it some sort of cosmetic or pharmaceutical related?

Are you making cracker?

Is it latex?

You know, I have all the clues but it scattered in my messy mind. So..there.

Pass me another bunny.

thinking-skype-smiley.gif *Pass VBS a cup of sweet, hot tea and Sherlock's shock blanket* You begin to make me worried, VBS.

The Serbians do it another way but I believe that their largest refinement factory that utilized one of the same raw materials produced 250.000 tons per year.

Some involved wood in the production process but it is not really necessary.

It is fluffy and soft but not as soft as liquor-based foam.

no-skype-smiley.gif Believe me, the only things that would find this edible are bacterias, earthworms and various other creepy-crawly 'recyclers'.

I believe that one of the USA presidential candidates had manhandled a small piece of rug this colour to make a toupee.

Due to its unstable nature it was sent here in a cooler box.

Don't worry, no shark ever be harmed here. Well, maybe loan shark and that would be justice.

If there's a durian this big (plate's diameter is 20 cm) it would be in the Guinness Book of Records.

Uh, no.

Cracker this thick would be called... I have no idea what :|

It is only latex-alike in appearance.

nod-skype-smiley.gif You have all the clues and it is only a matter of piercing them together to reach the final conclusion.

Something clicking although it may just be another crazy cricket in my head.

Acid sulfate soil,

Sulfur! Sulfur! Is that sulfur? Or close? Why it's not? Sulfur yes?

Are you making compost?
Or kimchi? I remember kimchi smells awful, but I can't remember if it smells like ammonia.

Here, VBS, catch.

There is a staggering amount of bunny-abuse cases here. Anyone have Sherlock's number? He doesn't even have to swipe Mycroft's card this time.

It does have high sulfur-content. ^^

Good idea, I'll toss it into the compost bin once I am done with it.

Is it? I have no idea. No, not cabbage-based.
