But can we identify them? I know I can't.

Of course we can't. Probably only small percentage of them had been identified.

For me, I can recognize stinky sock #1, stinky sock #2, deadly stinky sock, nuclear level stinky sock. (Once there was a telephone guy who wore super stinky sock and I swear I can smell it until a week after, eventhough I washed and changed everything. No he didn't secretly leave his sock, it's just that deadly)

Human with bad-smelling scalp, human with sunflower seed smell, human who smell good, human who smell like chicken, human who smell like skin, human who tries to cover body odor with perfume fail#1 - #100 etc etc.

Food stall with light, medium and bad cockroach infestation (I can tell!)

Maybe that's all. :p

I think we can differentiate but there is no way we can identify that much.

The interesting read I found is there are 'evidences' that we can smell fear. How cool is that if it's really true.

All stinky socks smell alike to me. I'm thinking maybe that's a good thing....

Animals can smell fear, right? So maybe we do too, but just have so many other experiential signals to process that it doesn't get noticed that much?

Yes, cherish that. :P

Yes.

Yes.

And ah... I didn't know anything about season 3 excitement as I haven't gotten into Sherlock back then.

But I can imagine the craziness over this especially after TRF.

A hearse was driven around London on Friday 29th November 2013 to reveal Season 3's broadcast date, also bearing the official hashtag. BBC One changed the channel's Twitter name to #SherlockLives throughout that Friday.

Richard Brook was born on 11th November 1975, Patrick and Mary Brook are registered as his parents.

For some reason, this disturbs me ....

Not real thing. It's fake, a prop made for TRF.

They put good effort.

I don't know how British's birth cert looks like (tried to peek at John's in TSoT but couldn't see anything) but I'm sure they had done their research.

Nope, not on the episode.

Found this in Sherlock Chronicle book, I remember reading that there is actually a deleted scene before Moriarty bolts upstair, maybe it's shown there, although we don't have access to the visual.

I don't have it with me, will check and edit this particular post later.

(Dang.. after checking the scene now I have new thing I want to discuss about the episode. It's in my mind for sometimes, but a bit too nitpicky so I didn't bring it up)

Another fun fact,

I was so fascinated when I found it. Kudos for the creators to include subtle tiny historical details even for few seconds in TRF.

There is a group of ravens living at the Tower of London, as protector and guardian for the crown and the tower. (Six main ravens and one or more for substitute).

Legend says that the kingdom will fall if the six resident ravens ever leave the fortress.

(Or if Mrs.Hudson leaves Baker Street. I believe in Sherlock Holmes. :))

The ravens are tended by the Ravenmaster, their wings are trimmed but there were still incidents when some ravens went missing, or 'fired' for improper behaviour.

What a cool title -- "Ravenmaster" !

Yes, I think so too. It's voted as Britain's most unusual job. It is also one and only, like our consulting detective. :p

It's not easy job to obtain at all, requires great dedication and ravens are not the most charming animal.

According to Arwel, the paintings in Kitty Riley's flat all belong to the lady who lives there. They just put them back up on the wall because it looks nice.

(And it does. I love that apartment.)

Aha. You know, I remember thinking some of those paintings looked rather ... er ... amateurish. I just assumed magazine prints or something, but now I'm thinking she's an art collector. Nice.

Apparently there are backstories for every painting but I don't have the source to know the stories. (he said it's some kind of tumblr account.. I'm tumblr blind :( XD)

That's okay, I'm obsessed, but not that obsessed. Yet.

According to the IMDb Advanced Search, Sherlock is not the only thing, or even the first thing that Martin Freeman and Mark Gatiss have both been in. The first two were Shaun of the Dead ('04) and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ('05). However, Mr. Gatiss did voice-only work on those productions, so their first scene together was apparently when John met Mycroft.

P.S.: Bill Nighy was also in both, as well as a couple of other things with Freeman. Odd that he hasn't been in Sherlock yet!

Not sure where it belongs, but I was watching V for Vendetta and realized that the final scene of blowing up the parliament, reminded me very much of the planned attack in TEH. A train full of explosives and the way it was shown...

I also realized that this film might be the reason why I like Stephen Fry so much.

Young Lestrade was a bonus. :D

That is certainly a very memorable first scene together. I think it's even better than first Sherlock-John scene.

I like V for Vendetta, didn't realize Rupert Grave was in that.

They are related indeed, I believe both V for Vendetta and TEH were inspired by the history of Gunpowder Plot and Guy Fawkes.

One of the tradition of 5th of November is bonfire and burning of the effigy of Guy Fawkes across England. Penny for the guy is the term used by children to ask money for fireworks, taking their home-made Guy made out of old clothes stuffed with paper and straw to the street.

P.S: Guy Fawkes also inspires a reputable activist hacker group known as Anonymous, it’s good read but fun fact for another day as I don't have any write-up now.

I watched V for Vendetta years ago, I also wouldn't remember about the connection if not for reading about Anonymous hacker group sometimes before watching TEH. :p

Anyway, Sherlock had appeared in cartoons, one of them:

Sherlock in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:

After experiencing time-slip with atomic clock, turtles travel to the past where they meet Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, on the trail for Professor Moriarty, who has stolen the atomic clock to rule the future.

The episode is called Elementary, My Dear Turtle

He's too well known, maybe.

I was going to say ... I don't remember Gatiss in either of those things!

Is it like those Gatiss's appearances blink and miss it ala Victor Frankenstein?

Or in this case, plug your ears and you miss it. ;)
