If there were to be a full weekend Sherlock convention (as opposed to a signing event), who would you like to see as a guest?

I think we maybe should rule out both Martin and Benedict because, hey, we'd all like to see them but they are also the most unlikely to ever *be* a guest due to the probable cost of obtaining them and the fact that they are busy, busy people.

Limit yourself to one person to start with (so we don't run out too soon) so pick your #1 guest wish even if it is a minor character. It doesn't matter if someone else has picked that person before you, if you want to see them, that's who you choose. If so inclined you can go into detail as to *why* you'd like them as a guest.

I'll be nice and let someone else go first as if people have been reading other posts I bet they'll know who mine would be and some of my reasons are very, very shallow. ;)

Well, if we leave out Benedict and Martin (though I still want them both, okay? Specially after the Hobbit AND Star Trek XII)... Ahm... Probably Mark Gatiss, on account of him being an actor AND a writer, and I love discussing things with writers...

Honestly, the cast is so sexy and hot wonderful I'd jump any of them be thrilled if anyone appeared ^^

Got to pick one though... to start with at least, once everyone has posted who looks like they're going to post, then we get to pick another!

Ok then...I pick Lestrade. Love the way they made the character and his acting ^^

Ta.

Funnily enough Rupert Graves is my choice too.

I think he's done wonderful things with the character of Lestrade and it doesn't do any harm that I find him very umm personable. :)

My number one (besides Benedict and Martin!) would be Mark Gatiss. It's brilliant that he not only created and writes this show, but he plays an amazing Mycroft Holmes. :) He's hilarious on twitter and the commentaries, so imagine he'd be an awesome convention guest.

I'm a music dork, so I would LOVE to attend a panel hosted by one of (or, ideally, both! but for the constructs of the topic) the show's composers, David Arnold and Michael Price. Having been to multiple conventions over the past 5 years (holy crap how is it that long already?!), I tend to notice many of the same guests showing up repeatedly, so I'm finding more of an appreciation for seeing the less popular guests that don't necessarily get as much attention and/or don't make it out to the conventions as often. So one of these two gentlemen gets my vote.

(Not to rule out the beautiful sexy amazing acting skills of Benedict and Martin though.)

Having recently acquired the soundtrack for S1 and S2, I'm very tempted by that as well. It's a very cleverly done soundtrack, and it'd be quite intriguing to hear about how it came to be...

from a writers pov i'd say Mark Gatiss

but from a fan pov there is only one person who isn't Benny or martin that i'd love to meet and thats Una Stubbs, She was Miss Bat in Worst Witch looooong before she took the keys to 221B and i only recentl found out she was in Worzel Gummaidge (give me a break i'm only 27) a show my Grandad got me into when I was a sprog.

lol :D i should have figured it was her, I watched the series for the first time in about 20 years just after Sherlock S1.

but i guess, I will always know her as Miss Bat,

I still remember her hiding in the cupboard when Miss Hardbroom said something cold.

In a way Miss Hardbroom is a lot like Sherlock, so i guess Una's had practise :D

I agree that Una Stubbs and Rupert Graves would be great to have, if only for the fact that they are versatile and amazing actors with loads of credits to their names. I would like to see Ben's violin tutor there, Eos Chater. She sounds so cool from her blog. I'm always interested in set design and costuming so the people involved with those aspects would draw me. What about those people who are minor though, they can be good guests non the less. Vinnette Robinson (Sally Donovan) must have some good stories there. Louise Brealey (Molly Hooper) and Andrew Scott (Moriarty) should be must haves too.

How to choose one though? I think I would plump for either Louise or Andrew. Possibly Andrew because we love to hate Moriarty.

MOFFAT!

I WOULD ASK HIM WHY HE IS SO INTENT ON RUINING MY LIFE WITH RIDICULOUSLY LONG INTERVALS BETWEEN SERIES'.

DOCTOR WHO HAS NOT BEEN ON FOR NEARLY A YEAR!

SHERLOCK WILL NOT BE ON FOR *AT LEAST* ANOTHER 12 BLOODY MONTHS

AND

MERLIN HAS NOT BEEN ON IN LIKE FOREVER!

I have so much rage.

But he would be so cool to meet. He has written some of my favourite shows on tv.

Moffat worked on Merlin as well? o.0

WTF kind of fan am I. *cries in a corner*

As far as I know Mr Moffat has nothing at all to do with Merlin.

Ah, ok. So I'm not horribly out of the loop then. Confidence restored!

I would definitely want The Moff to be at the convention so I could try and persuade him to tell me how Sherlock survived the fall!

Something tells me Moffat would manage to give you an answer while still telling you nothing :D

I recommend the liberal use of veritaserum.

My choice would be a tie between Andrew Scott and Mark Gatiss, with Una Stubbs running a very close second.

Though I'd love to hear Jonathan Aris's take on the thankless task of playing Anderson. He's underappreciated for sure!

I'll have to remember that euphemism!

YES!!! Much more elegant than what I was going to suggest!

Well I have to say that it would be really nice to have Louise Brealey there, such a versatile individual.

:))

We met Louise at this years Collectormania Milton Keynes (UK convention) she was lovely and very chatty, made everyone feel special and willingly posed for photos at her signing desk. Very impressed

If I ever met Aris in person, I probably wouldn't stop talking about dinosaur shippings and would spend the whole time elbowing him in a very Monty-Python way until he hit me in the face with a phone-book or something. :P

Rupert Graves rocks my socks, but I'd end up hiding behind a coat-rack if I actually ended up within seventy bajillion miles of him. I am not as vocal IRL, unless it's making fun of Aris. :D
