Good point. And I believe some other sites have been mentioned as well. Maybe we could develop a standard gift basket to send around to each of 'em? Some nice pears, bit of sharp cheddar, ....

Posted

Don't forget chocolate! A nice bit of Green and Blacks would do...

Yum! The kind with cherries in it -- or orange peel!

Yes, I came via Google.

Can't beat a bit of real Cheddar (cave aged of course) from the Gorge.

Is there a proper introductions thread somewhere so I can find out about who I'm talking to? I've noticed some people live in the US, and was curious as to how Sherlock has gone down over there compared to in the UK.

Posted

Introductions are good. We'll all be pleased to meetcha formally!

In addition, though, a discussion of how well Sherlock is doing here in the US (and elsewhere) versus in the UK -- well, that sounds like an interesting topic for the BBC Sherlock General Discussion area. And as Undead Medic just implied, anyone (including newer members) can start a new topic ("thread").

The stupid white rabbit stole my pocketwatch, and I had to chase him down a hole.

Fortunately, I got the watch back. It's on my desk now.

I found this place after extensive...extensive...web-searching.

I was a member of another Sherlock Holmes forum for a few years. Until it went belly-up about six or eight months ago. I was overcome with a desire to be a part of another Holmes forum. But I couldn't find one that was as much like the one I knew, until I found this one. If I'm completely honest, this isn't exactly what I was after, but given the alternatives that I've seen, it's the best of a bad situation.

Right, every forum develops its own focus over time. Now that you're a part of this one, you can help shape its focus more to your liking. And please do!

I found you via Google. I was looking for a social community that was Sherlock centered and there you were and ain't I some wicked happy about it!

Hey everybody. My boyfriend actually recommended joining a Sherlock forum as a way to cope with my depression. I like it here so far :)

Just googled Sherlock forums and voila the second result was this forum. Looked more interesting than the 1st result that Google gave.

Usually we come up first -- that's how I found this forum too.  In any case, we're glad that you find us interesting!  Looking forward to more posts from you.

I was actually looking for it. The only other people I have to talk to about Sherlock are my brother and my best friend.

My brother introduced me to the show but he doesn't share my obsession.

My best friend, though tries to convince me that she loves it, really only like it and has a major crush on Benedict.

So i wanted to find a community of people with as much love and respect I have for this show!  :)

Hello, ibelieveinSherlock221 -- welcome to Sherlock Forum!   :welcome:

If you're looking for people who share your obsession (and your love and respect for Sherlock), you've come to the right place.  And if you don't see a thread for a topic you want to discuss, just start a new one!

This site is often mentioned on other sites, a fact that makes it quite hard to remain ignorant of the forums existence.

Can't argue with that!   :D

It would be churlish of me to disagree! :D

Welcome to the forum, Selena.
