That video appears to have been shot outside The Daffodil restaurant, which is in a former movie theater, and apparently the actual scene will be filmed inside. For those of you who've been following the Casting Calls thread, I'd guess that this (not the place in Newport, as I first thought) is the "restaurant" mentioned there (since I now see that it says "nice restaurant," and this one looks pretty posh).

I can't find anything current on Una Stubbs anywhere on the web. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.

An urgent message from Sue Vertue, via Sherlockology:

Hi, Sue Vertue here.

As many of you are aware, we’ll soon be embarking on our first London leg of filming for series 3.  I’m also aware that there is quite a lot of speculation about where we’re shooting when.  I can’t stress how  much we the Producers and Benedict, Martin and the rest of the cast appreciate your love and dedication to our show - we’ll endeavour to live up to your expectations for Series 3.

What I am nervous about is that our London shooting schedule is punishing and will really give us very little time to interact with you.  The actors really hope you understand that.

Also, and I know this is probably asking a lot, the majority of fans and indeed ourselves would REALLY appreciate it if you didn’t post pictures or spoilers or ideally our daily locations.

Thanks for your understanding.  Sue x

OK, folks, you heard the lady.  I've heard that overly-enthusiastic fans have been a major distraction at some of the location filming so far.  Team Sherlock has a job to do, and I'm sure we all want them to have every opportunity to do their wonderful best.

Hmm -- wonder which Conan Doyle story they're basing that on....   ;)

I've been thinking that once something hits the BBC web site, or Sherlockology, or Radio Times, then it's "official," and fair game to post.  Seems like you're of the same opinion, and I don't think Ms. Vertue would begrudge us that sort of "spoiler."

This isn't really spoilery, but I found this picture today and thought it was funny. A little payback to the crowd :)

Well I figure that the Radio Times is BBC owned so it is fair game! :)

Ah! No wonder it's considered authoritative.

Bborchar, links aren't working properly right now, so I've hidden your post till that's fixed. Sorry!

I assume this is originally from Twitter:

Note that it's dated the 6th (and 6 + 6 = 12).  So almost done with Episode 1.

Bborchar, your photo works now. Thanks for sharing that cute moment.

And here's another humorous photo from yesterday's shoot:

I've added spoiler tags to those two images, just in case anyone stumbles upon this thread by accident.

Thanks!  They're certainly not real spoilers, but they do provide just a bit of information about Series 3.

I'm kind of excited about this:

I'm not saying where, when or why, but it seems that Andrew Scott was spotted today :)

I thought it was a cool look.

Right, I assume they'll start right in filming Episode 2 this coming week.  Wonder if they'll stay on location, or go back to Cardiff?

I would think they had a little time off for location scouting and then come back and do a read-through.  I would assume they would film in Cardiff for all of the flat shots first, too, but I guess it would just depend on their schedule.

Btw, after the twitter deluge:

I'm happy because this pretty much confirms my theory :)

Since the first two episodes have different directors, I would assume that the locations for E2 have already been scouted during the filming of E1 (if not earlier), and likewise other pre-production work.  They have a pretty tight window of filming opportunity, before Martin Freeman has to leave to finish filming The Hobbit, so they're presumably doing whatever they can to expedite matters.

But you're right, they'll need to do a read-through first, so back to Cardiff it is!

And I hope you're also right about studio filming being first again, followed by location filming, since that would maximize our chances of getting to see some filming while we're in London in mid-May.

They were filming some additional views of The Fall on Friday, presumably for the big explanation.  Several media outlets covered it, including Mirror Online, whose photos included this shot showing how Sherlock survived    :P    or at least, how his stunt double did:

Another source mentioned that the stunt double was wearing a "helmet-cam" in one take, so we may get to see the fall from Sherlock's point of view!

So, based on what we have so far... (MASSIVE SPOILERS):

It looks like a body has been dragged out of the hospital and is laying on the ground already. Sherlock jumps from the building onto an inflated mat, gets off, the mat is carried away (hidden in the garage across the street, perhaps?) and then runs and hides for a moment, waiting for the crowd to run around and cover him up and for the bicyclist to knock John down- then he runs and takes the place of the body while the body is dragged away again. He probably does this because he wouldn't have enough time to get into the proper position or bloody himself before John gets over there. Thoughts?
