Found this article on palms in Britain: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gardening/howtogrow/7879789/How-to-grow-palm-trees-in-Britain.html Martin's main interest is cold hardy palms, most of which can tolerate bad winters and some of which can withstand temperatures as low as 5F (-15C). So yes, apparently some palms can manage below freezing temps.

Too much work. Maybe I'll just tweet Mark that if it doesn't happen in S4 I'm gonna die. Then he can tweet back RIP. <3

Because they're good storytellers! Given her function in the show (the unrequited love), if they'd married her happily off, there wouldn't be much else to do with her. Her scenes with Sherlock have frisson because you know she wants him to love her. Take that away and she could be any random character. I suppose they could make a side story for her, but the show always slows down if either John or Sherlock isn't on screen (I'm looking at you, Blind Banker.) Besides, this way they get to torment the Sherlolly shippers some more. :P I'd like to see her do something really ... big. I don't know what, just something that would knock everyone's socks off. And I'd give a lot to see her and Mary double-team the boys. And I'd like to see her short circuit Sherlock's hard drive again. :D So basically, they're keeping her single to torture me, and her, with the prospect of a Sherlock/Molly relationship that isn't happening. lol Rude.

Pretty much anything outside of his areas of expertise especially regarding relationships is a cause for short-cicuiting. I'm sure if he ever had sex, he'd be down for the count. I keep reading this and cracking up.

Look I'll disown Sherlolly when one of the creators shuts that down, which they haven't. Even Loo said... "Something happened in the last season, and now we no longer laughed at the idea that yes, something could happen between them." I don't think anything will ever happen between Sherlock and anyone, but if it's gonna be anyone, I'd bet on Molly.

That's the thing I just don't get. At all. They broke Molly and Tom up for a reason. Otherwise, why not let her be happy with Tom?

Mark Gatiss has said that Sherlock and Molly's relationship is "touching." And I think that's the thing I love about it. He is so gentle around her (post S1) when he just isn't with so many other people. He clearly recognizes when he's hurt her. Obviously this doesn't mean true love, but he's really not as oblivious to others as he'd like people to think. Oops, I done messed up...

Episode 4.0: The Abominable Bride (alias The Special)
sittything replied to Undead Medic's topic in Special and Series 4
Hey, sociopath -- welcome to Sherlock Forum! That sounds delightful! I was thinking of attending an event here in Indiana, only because Mart Gatiss was scheduled to speak. But then he had a conflict and had to cancel, so I was glad I hadn't prepaid. Would love to hear him in person sometime, especially if there's a Q&A. Do you live in Suffolk? OK Carol, if Mark is ever headed to Indiana again to speak you must let me know. I will be there. -
Sappy videos aside, I'm really excited to see what they have in store for Sherlock and Molly in S4. Not in the sense of.... THIS IS IT! THEY'RE GOING CANON! But b/c it seemed she filmed a good deal outside the studio (for Molly) so for my own self-serving reasons I'm hoping we get more Molly. I'm still hoping that's her apartment in the trailer even if that puts her in danger. I want to see more of Molly and Molly's life outside the morgue. I am also still tickled pink over S3 and how things changed for Sherlock and Molly with regards to their relationship. S1... poor Molly was just there in the background, almost a joke for all her attention and crush on Sherlock. S2... she gained a bit of ground by getting him to apologize and then him going to her for help. S3... that was the first season I felt we really got a good look at how much Molly means to Sherlock, even as just a friend, plus at this point I feel like the playing field is leveled between them. It's clear Sherlock has the utmost trust and respect for her, and as a Molly fan I'm all...

I've probably posted this before but I've been stuck on rewatching it the last few days...

I'm pretty sure I only ship certain characters b/c of the chemistry of the actors. See... it's not my fault. :P

The last one looks like a Walking Dead comic cover. Crossover!

I 2nd all of this minus maybe that 2nd to last line. ;)

I just don't get it. If Sherlolly doesn't happen, and I'm fairly certain it's not, that doesn't stop my enjoyment of the show and the story they're telling.

I genuinely felt bad for Gatiss at Comic Con... he was like I feel strongly about this... not joking when I'm saying it's not happening. They just sound exasperated and done.

My take on the two is that emotionally, Sherlock was always the more volatile of the two. But I do think he tried to model himself after his older, smarter brother. I'm sure Sherlock always felt some need to prove himself to Mycroft. I am a bit worried about what is going on with Mycroft in S4, but I'll save that for the spoiler thread if anyone has some good speculation.

Speaking of ships, the Johnlock thread has me evaluating my own ship. The one thing I've never understood is the insistence that a ship is real in the face of some very adamant comments by Mofftiss that it's never happening. So that got me thinking about what Mofftiss has said about Sherlolly, and to be honest I'm not finding much. I did find Sue saying before Season 3 (referring to Sherlock and Molly): "It's not going to go the way Tumblr thinks it's going to go." And from the same day Moffat(?) says, "I don't think they're going to end up dating - two sociopaths in one relationship would not be good - but it's a proper friendship." I'm not sure that I'd consider Molly a sociopath, but OK Moff. Anyhow, I've never had high hopes for this ship, as I've said on here before. But would an outright denial make me throw in the towel? Would I still enjoy the doomed ship for what it is ... a nice idea? I'm not sure if I'd be more upset about Sue and Steven's comments if I had ever had any real hope? These are just my random meanderings. I got really lucky that Mulder and Scully panned out in X-Files so I'm not too experienced in dealing with the idea of a sunken ship. I may be downgrading my chance of Sherlolly from 1% to like 0.2% now, though.

I wish people would just stay in their own corner of the internet and enjoy their ship (whatever that is) and just leave everyone else alone. To some extent, I feel like this is nothing new under the sun. The shipper (MSR) and noromo wars back in the day were terrible, awful within the X-Files fandom. The only plus side, it was kept among the fans, at least. But I think the one thing that is making everything worse exponentially worse is social media. People now have direct access to the show creators, the actors, and just say whatever they feel like to them. I'm convinced if they had to say these things to others' faces, everyone would play a lot nicer. I feel like I should be more shocked by that tumblr post, but I'm just not. I'm on tumblr and I've seen it, not just from TJLC, and it's... disturbing.

I adore him too much to find him threatening.

I appreciate your honesty. No Mr. Robot, but STRANGER THINGS... SO GOOD. -
Specifcally, it's the caboose in Herndon VA but I see I'm too slow. ;)

You know your "Sherlock" obsession is bad when...
sittything replied to Joanhs's topic in BBC Sherlock General Discussion.
When you come home after a not so great day at work, pour a glass of red, and watch Sherlock and Molly videos because it's the closest thing to canon you're even gonna get. No? Just me?
