Then go to your local animal shelter, adopt TWO (remember, they want company, and not only human...!) or more if you have the space...you learned already a bit about the rabbit keeping here, and I happily answer any questions :D I would recommend you a couple of websites about it, too - unfortunately they are mostly in german....but I can look if there are translations. ;) One important thing is to consider before - you have to be sure that they can stay for a very long time, since they can become about 10 years old...just like a dog or cat. Actually that's why I wanted rabbits, I had rats and gerbils and all that before, but they only live like 3 years - when you're lucky. And it's sad to say goodbye so often. :(

Yes, they should have peaceful environment, definitely. Stress makes them sick just like it does us sensitive human beings. They are also more active at dusk and dawn, and they like sleeping over the day. Not like hamsters, who sleep almost all day long and are only really active at night, but they like their midday nap, and they usually sleep at night when I sleep. They are only earlier awake and active than I am in the morning.

Then there's no easter presents for them, says the easter bunny....

Fun fact about rabbits: they do eat their poop - well, parts of it, as it has minerals they need for digesting. Guinea pigs do too, btw. Both cute, the puppy and the bunny! Yeah, the pugbunny looks bit angry, haha....I recently bought a postcard with a very wrinkly bulldog in a pink bunny suit, and it says: "Oh no, not again!"....

Maybe you can ask Weta Workshop to make you your own Smaug. Or you just buy this one.... https://www.elbenwald.de/Der-Hobbit/Der-Hobbit-Smaug-Raeucherfigur-p.html I would like to have it, but unfortunately it's just too expensive (though surely cheaper than one custom made by Weta, haha...), and there's things I need more than a smoking dragon, haha...(like today I had to pay 50€ for an unexpected vet visit, because stupid guinea pig put a hay straw in his eye and had it injured with it. It was not my regular vet (he'd be cheaper, and nicer...) but it's saturday, and easter saturday adding to that, so most vets are closed or on holiday, but still better than emergency vets and I didn't want to wait until tuesday, because I was not sure if it was dangerous or not....luckily it wasn't, but you never know. And he's one of my fave piggies, his name is Fili by the way, staying with the Hobbit theme here...and yes, he's got a brother named Kili! :D) Lovely idea though, to make Smaug an incense holder!

I found this in my photobucket, and thought it was the thread to post it in :D Smaug was in Berlin wasn't at the premiere though, as I was sick at home, but I saw it via internet stream...and took the picture later, since they left him here for a while.

speaking of pugs - a friend just mailed me this one :D it says: "Look...a (Bunny = german 'Hase' & Pug = german 'Mops') Hops !" (its also a double word play, as in german you say 'hopsen', which means jumping or hopping...)

Introverts, how is your day?

I had bit of a strange encounter today when I was going to the Donut shop in the train station. The Chick who sells them just saw my Batman hoodie and started at once chatting to me about the new film that came out just last night (Superman vs Batman, which I am probably not going to see, alone for the fact that Ben Affleck is Batman - yuck! Can it be worse? For me Batman is Michael Keaton, and Christian Bale did a good job as well, but the others I have seen yet - nooooo, and definitely not Ben Affleck, he's awful, I already hated him as Daredevil. I only liked him playing one of the two crazy angels in Dogma ;P) and how horrible it should be from the critics already, etc etc...and that she saw Deadpool, erm...yes, I only wanted some donuts, and it's nice when there's someone in the non-virtual world who likes movies and stuff just like me, but I was a bit like 'Huh?' totally overloaded with too much information at once and I needed to think about which donut I wanted, eh....did not really know what to say and just tried to chat along, while not exactly having the chance to think about my order and just took the most colourful ones along with the easter bunny-thingies because those I had decided for already before going there....the others were just taken because of confusion, even though they might not be that bad. Was the first time I actually wanted a whole box for the weekend, usually I only buy one or two, which is easier to decide...maybe then the chatty girl would not have been so confusing. Weird, this world sometimes, really. I mean, when I see people with funny or familiar shirts, I smile, but I would not start to chat with them right away like we'd known each other for long already. At least not somewhere in the street or the train, maybe if it was a film or comic event, and where likeminded people hang around. But I wondered, maybe if I would stand there all day in the train station selling donuts I maybe would be the same, just because it's so boring, haha...it's just weird, because most shop assistants only want to sell their stuff and talk loads of rubbish, instead of talking your shirt and possible hobbies before you even ordered and looked around what you want. -
Actually, there are some actors who remind me of different kinds of dogs. Just recently for example - when I saw 'Mission Impossible-Rogue Nation' I always had a pug in mind, when I saw Jeremy Renner's face...

What would happen if they let Peter Jackson do some baby scenes....? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOUwnNVlgWk (not very much like Sherlock probably, but entertaining....and who knows? )

HAPPY CUDDLY EASTER, Sherlockians!

I avoid shops that have shop assistants. I mean those who jump on you as soon as you enter the shop. Like, theres this one shop I really find lovely, but I avoid going in and rather buy stuff online because I know as soon as one of the shop assistants comes to me I want to bite their head off, haha.... I am not a big fan of malls and unpersonal shops either, but blessed be department stores and supermarkets where you're mostly on your own since the shop assistants have too much to do to help you anyway. ;P - it has its advantages living in a big city, but then there is tourists ....I don't mind if someone asks me for the way to whatever sight or anything - no problem, but if there is groups...arrrrgh! They always stand in the way, looking around with the cameras, leave their dirt everywhere, are loud and really annoying. I mean, I live in an area with lovely multicultural people here, and it's no problem. Some of them are yet not used to environmental-friendly living and all (yes, I know in other countries people for example don't pay deposit for their beer bottles and stuff, thus throw their stuff anywhere in the bins (or not, the poor people are happy to collect the abandoned bottles in the streets, because it's money...it's just funny when you're an environmental-friendly Berliner standing in a Manchester supermarket and wondering where the deposit boxes for the bottles are  ...), but in general it's cool. But the tourists often are a pest! Basically, my day was okay, I was shopping and not being annoyed by shop assistants but loud tourists in the metro...then I finally cleaned my carpets off rabbit hair :D , which was due for ages already...so, relaxing now with the long eared friends, who are not that chatty. One thing I do when being in stores or whatever, is talking to myself sometimes, just to reassure myself or something, don't know, it's bit of a habit even when I am not alone. It's not like anyone would care anyway, especially not since the age of the smart-whatever-phone-headset-age, where everyone seems to babble with themselves on the street, haha... (Edit: For some reason now the scene with John Watson and the chip and pin machine pops into my head :lol2: ...that's so me sometimes! ) Don't really know if I am ex-or introvert though. I am like those who sometimes are extrovert when around people who make them feel comfortable, and rather introvert when not. Really depends, also on my moods...and it's the same with me, I so need often time to recharge my batteries, being on my own with my pets, it's just the best! I always say I would like to live somewhere in the woods, but it should have connection to the city. -

here's a video of Benedict singing Happy birthday while signing autographs, haha.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlAzxDj4MS4 have a good one!

What do you mean? Like if it's a real movie? Of course, it's funny. Like, funny when you find Peter Jacksons early works funny or so  .... I've seen it, and I remember I gave the DVD to my cousin for his birthday.... XD It's a while ago though, so it's a pretty old one - about ten years now as wikipedia says... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sheep_%282006_film%29 I just remembered it when seeing the litttle happy black sheep. :D
-
Nooooo, it's hopping around like a rabbit and makes noises, like this one.... :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71Cr8Etf0Kk by the way, as there's a black sheep - anyone seen this film? it's awesome... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4PkMPAlMFo 'the violence of the lambs'
-
OOOOOhhhhh, the lamb!!! I really have to go cuddle my rabbits now, haha....(I cuddle Helga often this way, too, she loves it....she just does not wiggle her tail like the lamb, again - oooooh how cute is that.... !!)
-
Hehe, somehow the picture with the geese reminds me on a Beatles picture, think it's 'Abbey Road'? :D The good thing is, rabbits and guinea pigs don't cost as much as cats or dogs - but they can become expensive when it comes to vet visits, too.... :( also they need every day fresh vegetables. Sometimes though you find some stuff in the supermarket veggie bin for free, or in summer you can go pluck some grass that you can feed them. It's just a matter of creativity and organizition how expensive the nourishment becomes. ;) I'm lucky, my rabbits have a 'godmother' since they came here, she pays a lot of their bills. I myself alone could not afford all of it. Maybe then I would only have the rabbits or so...because I could not imagine a life without pets at all anymore. Yes, actually the godmother of my rabbits and me dream about something like someday having kind of a farm and helping animals, too. It's a good idea for later with the dog sanctuary, VBS! Then you'd probably be bit like Will from Hannibal, with all his dogs... :D The puppies and the ducklings are so cute, the ducklings picture is already somewhat 'eastlery', isn't it? Next week I'd like to see here loads of happy and cute easterbunnys, ducklings, lambs ... I just got a call that I will have a gerbil again soon. I gave my last one to a friend, after her sister died in February, and my friend wanted her to befriend with another one she had from me a while ago already and who lived alone. It looked well that it works, but now she called me that the other one is sick, and it looks like its about to die too, and as I promised her, the one gerbil goes back to me so she can stop having gerbils, since she has planned that already since over a year, and since it was mine once, I'll take it back. *sigh* I thought the little girl would become happy with her new friend, but well...now I have to take her back and look for either another partner again, or leave her alone (which is the last option since gerbils actually are social animals, too....it's just not so easy to find a proper partner, it's way more difficult than with rabbits or guinea pigs or rats, whatever....that's why I actually did not want to keep having gerbils, it's not good to have them alone, but they are very picky with their partners and it's nervewrecking to find a new one when you have only one gerbil left!). That's her (the brown/white one) and her sister when they came to me as babies.... They always look so cute when they sleep, they also cuddle a lot, when they live together and like each other.
