  1. I like seeing a new series filmed every two years because it allows Carol and me to save up for future UK trips to witness North Gower Street filming.
  2. Carol and I would agree with him on how great it is to see London from a river boat. We took a cruise boat from Westminster to Greenwich in 2011 and it was great (when we came back to Westminster, we walked to Trafalgar Square to see the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Premiere event). Walking along the Thames is also great. I think my favorite walk was in 2013 from St. Paul's Cathedral to the Tate Modern and then along the south bank, crossing back over onto the north bank on the Tower Bridge. We crossed the Waterloo Bridge and Westminster Bridge several times in 2011 because our hotel was on Waterloo Road and the view of Big Ben and the Parliament from those bridges was fantastic.
  3. Here is Benedict Cumberbatch's guide to London: http://www.benedictcumberbatch.co.uk/interviews/ba-highlife-benedict-cumberbatch-my-london/ His favorite places to visit in the world are: http://highlife.ba.com/Destinations/A-few-of-Benedict-Cumberbatchs-favourite-places.html
  4. Martin Freeman has some interesting comments on Sherlock series 4 plans in this recent Digital Spy article: http://www.digitalspy.com/british-tv/s129/sherlock/news/a565485/martin-freeman-on-sherlock-series-4-piss-or-get-off-the-pot.html#~oCmkccy8FtEaER
  5. Here is another Martin Freeman article about The Office on the Radio Times site: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-04-17/martin-freeman-im-glad-we-didnt-ruin-the-office-with-more-series
  6. Here's a link to a Guardian interview with Martin Freeman posted today: http://www.theguardian.com/culture/2014/apr/20/martin-freeman-interview-fargo-tv-version-hobbit-sherlock-coen-brothers
  7. They do look good together. I hope they're reunited in the next Star Trek movie.
  8. I know this is a non sequitur, but how about a Benedict Cumberbatch colouring book? http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-03-10/theres-a-benedict-cumberbatch-colouring-book---yes-you-read-that-right
  9. Yes, Moffat & Gatiss should take their time and make series 4 the best yet and give me and Carol time to plan and save up for a visit to the UK when they're filming series 4 (hopefully next year).
  10. No surprise here, but in this Radio Times article, Mark Gatiss confirms that if Benedict Cumberbatch can no longer play Sherlock, the show is finished (I would assume that the same applies to Martin Freeman's John Watson): http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-03-10/benedict-cumberbatch-is-irreplaceable-as-sherlock-says-mark-gatiss
  11. Speaking of wicked women in Sherlock, Radio Times has an article on one of them who might be brought back: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-03-06/lara-pulver-acting-opposite-benedict-cumberbatch-and-martin-freeman-was-thrilling
  12. This article includes Steven Moffat's plans for Moriarty in Series 4: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/sherlock-season-4-steven-moffat-reveals-moriarty-plans-more-female-characters-new-episodes-1438448
  13. For forum members in the U.S., Amazon now has the two-disc special edition DVD set of The Desolation of Smaug ready for preordering at $20 (I'll wait until the price comes down) and it will be released on 8 April: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HWWUQWQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3B9Z6RAJ8CNAV&coliid=I3KHID6JQELPCX Added: the price has come down a little to $19, but I will wait until it comes down more. Added: the price came down to $17, so I bought it (now it's back to $19).
  14. I think The Sign of Three best shows what each main character is about and I also like the mystery. It's also the most fun! Added: OK, another personal reason why the Sign of Three is my favourite Sherlock episode is because that was the primary episode being filmed when Carol and I were in the UK and observed North Gower Street filming on 21 May 2013.
  15. OK, I really love all of the episodes and have watched them all multiple times, but I'll take a quick stab at ranking them: 1. The Sign of Three 2. The Reichenbach Fall 3. A Study in Pink 4. The Empty Hearse 5. His Last Vow 6. The Great Game 7. A Scandal in Belgravia 8. The Hounds of Baskerville 9. The Blind Banker
  16. Here is a link to another article on the "In Conversation" interview: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-02-14/benedict-cumberbatch-sherlock-is-exposing
  17. I'm OK with waiting two years for Series 4 because Carol and I wouldn't be prepared to visit the UK to try catching North Gower Street filming this year. Next year would be much better.
  18. Here's an interesting Radio Times article about the actress who plays Janine describing her kiss with Benedict Cumberbatch: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-01-12/sherlocks-girlfriend-on-kissing-benedict-cumberbatch-it-was-lovely-and-very-soft
  19. I keep getting a Google Drive - Quote exceeded error message when I try to download the file. As of 10 February, I still get this error. For whatever reason, it worked on 11 February.
  20. Based on the look on Sherlock's face after seeing Janine dancing with the comics and SciFi geek, I agree that's a big reason he left the wedding reception early. I think he was hoping to dance with Janine.
  21. What I would really like is a link to download Sherlock Uncovered: The Villains so that I could use savefrom.net to copy the file. Thanks.
  22. Earendil, would you provide a link to the third Sherlock Uncovered ("The Villains") special video (preferably with subtitles) that aired after "His Last Vow" in the U.S. on Sunday night? Thanks.
  23. I think that John Watson's behavior in "His Last Vow" is explainable by his training and point of view of "the soldier", with firm loyalty toward Sherlock (his "commander") and Mary (his wife, carrying their unborn child). With Mary's life threatened by the creep CAM and John's humiliation from said creep, he played the role of a good soldier in allowing his "commander" to live up to his last vow in being there for John and Mary when he shot CAM to end the peril they otherwise would have faced if CAM gave Mary's enemies their address.
  24. For Sherlock fans in the U.S., Amazon.com just dropped the preorder price for the Season 3 Soundtrack CD to $16.01: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HDOF5E2/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3B9Z6RAJ8CNAV&coliid=I3H92QBKEY0V47
  25. Radio Times has an interesting article about CAM's wedding message and a possible exaplanation for the term "poppet": http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-01-08/sherlock-season-3-did-charles-augustus-magnussen-send-john-and-mary-a-wedding-telegram
