  1. More progress from Arwel in Cardiff: https://twitter.com/arwelwjones/status/705049626429116416
  2. So -- it's a small role in the upcoming movie, but apparently the character will be revealed as a major player in some future production(s). Radio Times wonders if he'll eventually meet Cumberbatch's Dr. Strange and "get one back by telling him off for the goatee and 'tache." And this may be a still from the scene RT mentions, wherein he looks "stern and rather spiffing in a suit": My theory is the studio plans to take advantage of the popularity of Sherlock and put Freeman's character in a Dr. Strange movie with Cumberbatch and hope to attract a lot of Sherlock fans.
  3. According to Radio Times, a new Star Trek series is slated to air in January 2017: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-11-02/new-star-trek-tv-series-to-air-in-2017
  4. Unfortunately we're going to have to wait a good, long while after the special is filmed before the three series 4 episodes are filmed (probably late this year). -_-
  5. Well, Mark Gatiss is saying that the "Christmas" special will "completely" resolve the mystery of the apparent return of Moriarty: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-11-19/mark-gatiss-the-sherlock-special-will-completely-solve-the-mystery-of-moriartys-return
  6. After some major disappointment from seeing last year's Desolation of Smaug and its departures from Tolkien's book, I'm actually encouraged seeing the new trailer because it shows some bits of scenes that I consider imperative to the Hobbit story, e.g.,
  7. I think for the sake of our favorite show, this is very good news because I think being settled in married life in London means that Benedict will continue to play Sherlock for a very long time, with Martin Freeman's Watson at his side!
  8. Mine are: Sherlock Star Trek The Prisoner The Avengers Remington Steele Magnum, PI The Rockford Files Columbo The Granada Sherlock Holmes series Leverage The Office Frasier Friends
  9. I love animals, which is why I stopped eating them 24 years ago. Speaking of cute animals, here are our two youngest after we first introduced them to each other four years ago:
  10. Radio Times has some out-takes from one of BC's earlier series, The Last Enemy: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-09-12/5-of-the-best-benedict-cumberbatch-and-martin-freeman-outtake-clips
  11. BC sent his parents to accept his award, while see the picture below to see who accepted the best drama award for Sherlock.
  12. BC won another award, this time the TV Choice best actor award, which he arranged for his parents to accept (Sherlock also won the best drama award ): http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-09-09/benedict-cumberbatch-sends-his-parents-to-collect-tv-choice-award
  13. Something occurred to me about The Sign of Three and Carol suggested I post it. Moffat and Gatiss have talked about how anything associated with Sherlock Holmes stories, including other adaptations, they consider canonical and can possibly be mined in their adaptation. In one of the early commentaries, Gatiss mentions ghosts appearing in some adaptations and this may be why they included the women who think they dated a ghost in The Sign of Three. That may be as close to a ghost story as they will go.
  14. Here's Radio Times' summary of early critical reviews (BC may win an Oscar for this to go along with his Emmy! ) http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-08-30/benedict-cumberbatch-dominates-in-the-imitation-game---first-reviews-round-up
  15. The National Theatre Live is in talks to bring BC's Hamlet to cinemas in the UK: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-08-29/national-theatre-live-in-early-talks-to-bring-benedict-cumberbatchs-hamlet-to-cinemas
  16. The face looks a lot like his. I haven't heard anything about a Martin Freeman wax figure, although after that Emmy they should get right on that.
  17. Apparently, Benedict Cumberbatch was not thrilled that J.J. Abrams showed the deleted shower scene from Star Trek Into Darkness on the Conan O'Brien show: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-08-28/benedict-cumberbatch-on-that-deleted-shower-scene-from-star-trek-into-darkness
  18. This convention is being postponed until 2015 (or beyond ): http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-08-28/official-sherlock-convention-sherlocked-postponed-until-2015
  19. Martin "Marty" Freeman was woken up in the middle of the night by a text alert from his agent, to find he had won his first Emmy award. Then he went back to sleep: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-08-27/martin-freeman-i-found-out-id-won-my-sherlock-emmy-via-text-and-then-went-back-to-sleep Audio from that interview can be heard here: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-28948609
  20. All in all, it was a great night for Sherlock. I was very surprised and pleased. You can see Amanda Abbington's comments at this link: https://twitter.com/CHIMPSINSOCKS "Well, I'm very, very, very proud right now. Beaming you might say. Congratulations to the boys... Particularly to my love." Here is the Radio Times article on this: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-08-26/benedict-cumberbatch-martin-freeman-and-steven-moffat-win-for-sherlock-at-emmy-awards-2014 Here's the BBC story: http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-28930797 Of course, Benedict's Emmy win is the lead story at Cumberbatchweb: http://www.benedictcumberbatch.co.uk/ I look forward to seeing quotes from Martin and Benedict about their wins

And I know I speak for Mary as well when I say we will never let you down, and we have a lifetime ahead to prove that. (Mrs Hudson whimpers and holds a tissue to her nose.
