Got Moderna. 2 Weeks after the shot I've got what is called Moderna- or Covid-Arm. Wearing it like a medal medal_L.gif
Oh, and felt like hit by the bus for two days: hardly could lift my arm, and didn't sleep very well because of the pain.

Got my second Moderna shot two weeks ago and felt fine, except for a sore arm, for 22 hours. Then the fever, chills and aches started. I also had several feet cramps, which I'm prone to, just not as frequently. All that lasted several hours and Tylenol seemed to help. But for the next two days I was very tired and wanted to do nothing but sleep. Even now I'm more tired than usual.

What is Covid arm?

I was wondering the same thing.  According to this article, it's a patch of rash that occurs around the injection site several days afterward.  The area may also feel warm.  They say it doesn't seem to indicate a problem, just something that happens sometimes, but they do appreciate being notified if you get it.

So far not bad here.  It just feels like there's a big bruise on my arm.  But it's been only 18 hours.

It reminds the reaction you have after an infected tick bite. And it wanders!
I was just: wow.gif WTF? Two weeks after the jab?
My arm is still kind of "bumpy", but the rash is almost gone. So far so good.

Thanks for the info. I did have a bit more redness with the second one but nothing major.

Over 50 hours now.  My arm is noticeably less sore, and I've had no other symptoms.

Second shot coming up on the 27th.

What had your reaction been to the first shot?

My arm was sore for several days and I had some minor joint aches, nothing very bad. But several people told me the second shot would hit me harder so I was prepared. It just hit more suddenly than I expected and I thought since I didn't have any reaction after almost 24 hours I was home free.

I've had that! Or something like it. But it wasn't from the Covid shot, it was a few years ago and I've forgotten what the shot was. But given the time frame, it was likely either an antibiotic or the flu shot.

At any rate, it was a bit scary looking but apparently harmless.

I had the Pfizer shot, and I definitely felt the needle going in. But I'm extremely tense when I get a shot, the poor nurses are always telling me to "relax." I can't relax, you're about to poke me with a needle!

The flu shot would be most similar to the Covid one, I should think.

My Covid nurse, as in the guy who vaccinated me...

anyway, he was surprised I hadn't had the flu' jab.

Well I've never been offered it-

maybe next year.

I've never had a flu shot.  As far as I'm aware, the first one offered was for the swine flu back in the late 70's.  They made a big fuss about everybody needing to be vaccinated, but I thought it was being way overblown, and it turned out I was right.  I've only gotten the flu once since then.  I won't rule out ever getting the shot -- it might seem advisable if I seem to be more at risk in the future.  But I think Covid is different.

I may be able to phone and request one, I don't know...

but I am 60 next year, so I hope I would be offered!

Now that I'm ... ahem ... older, I'd like to start getting the flu shot. I've only ever had one or two, mostly because I simply don't remember to get it done. Also I've only had the flu once or twice and didn't suffer unduly, so I didn't really feel the need. But now I think it would be pretty wise of me to get it. It would help if I had a doctor who would recommend it! Alas, the doctor I used to have wasn't too great about that ... and I haven't had time to find a new one.

I've never had the flu but I have always gotten a flu shot, for at least the last 20 years or so. I worked as a medical receptionist for 17 years and it was offered, and encouraged, thru the office. I then got cancer 5 years ago and it has been definitely advised since then.

I don't recall having any reaction to the shot except a sore arm.

You probably never had the flu because you got the shot each year.
I wasn't that much at risk, having only few contacts at work and privately. But the numbers from 2018really got me thinking differently. It might turn out to be a good thing: people comparing covid with flu - the later could get more attention in the future. What we know now is that distancing, handwashing and masks reduced flu cases almost to nothing compared with the past.

Well, congratulate me everyone ... it's been over a year, with a lot of missteps, setbacks and emotional turmoil ... but as of today I own my own home. Woo hoo!

It's tiny, and the deck is almost as big as the house; which is okay by me because I love to be outside. And it is beautiful out there!

Congratulations! :bouncy: May it be a place for you to put down roots and feel truly at home.

@Arcadia -- you've ditched your mask!  I've lost track -- are you now two weeks past your second vaccination?

About 4 weeks, actually, I just forgot to do it earlier. All of my students are vaxxed too, we can finally see each other's faces again, yay!

Thanks for the congrats on the house, gang, it's a lot of work but it's worth it. (I hope. :D )

Got my second shot today. I think it's time to go to bed as long as I can move my arm.

As for ditching the masks etc. - we shouldn't be to enthusiastic about it. You can still get the Covid and give it to others, even if the risk is much smaller. I'm a bit concerned about the "cuddle parties", especially as people use fake certificates.
