Been watching through “Sherlock” again

No idea how long it's been since I watched any of it -- well, *some* idea, actually, since I was clearly watching the 4th season in 2017.  But I haven't cranked up my courage sufficiently to watch it recently.  (For one thing, Alex would insist that we watch the whole shebang.)

Please feel free to post any comments you might have about the show or about certain episodes (either on existing threads or roll your own).  That might stir up some actual discussions about the show.

@Artemis I think you'll like "watson" on bps. It fills in the void

Watson does look interesting, though it's apparently available only via streaming:

Those interested in catching season one's conclusion can stream the Watson season finale for free through Fubo, DirecTV Stream or Paramount Plus. All three streaming services offer free trials for new subscribers to enjoy before committing to a paid subscription.

Apparently Netflix is also carrying it now.  You can see the trailer plus a few clips on IMDb.  According to IMDb, there are a few other canon (or in some cases, perhaps nod-to-canon) characters in the show:  Sherlock Holmes (presumably in flashbacks, as the series is set after his death), Dr. Mary Morstan, Moriarty, Detective Lestrade, and Mycroft Holmes.

Hi everyone,

Long time no see. A bit of a life update from me. My last day of my internship was yesterday, I brought a thank you card and a fruit basket to thank my colleagues. My studies are coming to an end, everything from school is done. Now all that's left is counting down till the 26th, then it's time for the graduation ceremony

That was very thoughtful of you.  I suspect a lot of people would have just yelled "yippee!" on their way out the door, regardless of how much help they'd been given.

Well, it was my second internship, I didn't do anything on my first internship. My second internship was such an improvement for me, the colleagues were so no nice. I'm going to miss them terribly

If it's okay for you, I'd like to keep you updated by email. This forum is kinda dead, is your email address still the same?

Don't worry, I'll see anything you post here.  Also, I suspect that other people are interested too.

Time for another update, and a rather sad one. My dad passed away on August 18th, 10 days after he turned 65. People are asking me what I'm going to do with the inheritance. And I'm like he hasn't been dead for a month, how about you leave me alone?

I'm sorry to hear you've lost your dad, FL.  It's never something you're really ready for, but 65 is kinda young.  And you're quite right, those people are tone-deaf idiots.

Thanks Carol. I knew it was coming through, dad had early dementia. So I knew I'd lose him sooner or later, it turns out I lost him sooner than I thought

I've heard of early dementia, but have never known anyone who had it.  Must be extra hard for you to deal with.  Mom had dementia too, but it was the old-fashioned kind, so she had already lived a long life before that even started.

It's okay though, I console myself with the thought that he isn't suffering anymore

We can't get ... cable TV service

That's from just over five years ago, and I've been assuming our area is simply too rural to *ever* have cable service.  But some months back, we started seeing evidence that it might actually be coming our way, and then a neighbor down the road mentioned having it installed recently, and they seem quite satisfied with it.  So today we signed up for just the their internet service, which should be installed in about a week.

I may have mentioned about a year and a half ago that our landline-and-internet service had suddenly gone kaput, and that the erstwhile provider seemed in absolutely NO hurry to do anything whatsoever about it (other than send a bill every month!).  They kept postponing our technician appointment, to the point where I'm pretty sure they don't even HAVE any techs around here.  So we finally cancelled their "service" and got Starlink, which was quite a relief, and also enabled us to get VOIP phone service from another company (without even changing our number).  Problem is, wonderful though Starlink is if you have a clear view of the sky and/or no alternatives, there are enough trees in our area that every so often our internet goes away for a few minutes.  And since VOIP phone service relies on the internet, our phone service isn't 100% reliable either.

Now that we do have an alternative, switching to cable internet *should* solve both of those problems, as well as giving us higher speed and a smaller monthly bill.  Will keep y'all posted!
