OK, that's still hot-linking.  The actual image lives on Imgur and you simply provided a pathway to it.

The forum used to provide an option to host images right here in the forum's webspace, but that could take a whole lotta bytes, so of course the forum imposed a limit to each person's total.  That system may have eventually proved to be unmanageable -- in any case I don't know how to do it now.

Well, there is one vestige of that system remaining -- the posting/editing box has a drop-down menu (in the lower right-hand corner) to access "Other Media", and one option there is "insert existing attachment," which brings up a catalog of all the images that the member has ever embedded.  (If you've never embedded any images, your catalog is presumably empty.)  Anyhow, here's one of the smaller images from my catalog:

They left the mouse on her bed -- but if it wasn't quite as dead as assumed, it may now be hiding just about anywhere in the house.

My mother finally learned to look carefully before she let the cat into the house.  If there was anything dangling from Star's mouth, Mom would praise her lavishly through the screen, then shut the door.

We had recently moved from coastal southern California to Indiana.  In order to keep our indoor-only cats reliably indoors, we learned to squeeze sideways through the front door, which generally worked very well.

One day, however, our young California cat Daisy managed to squirt out, and heaven knows where she might have run off to.  Quite fortunately, though, there was half an inch of snow on the porch.  Daisy stopped dead in her tracks, clearly horrified, giving me plenty of time to scoop her up and take her back indoors.

And she never ever tried that again.

This is him and his bestie. No kidding, the brown dog is his best friend and they are always happy to see each other.

This is him again breaking into the bathroom and supervising my morning business.

I'm not sure whether the dog on the left is black or dark brown.  Are you talking about the dog in the middle?

Yes, the middle one, and yes, Locky is named after Sherlock.

I believe I joined in April 2015. Locky was born in May 2015, my friend asked me to adopt him in June/July 2015 (and to name him). At that time, I only had Sherlock in mind!

That may be some species of terrestrial or grassland owl (which tend to walk more often than most owls do).  Looks like it's still got its baby fuzz, so could be a young African grass owl.

I'm very fond of owls, but then again the local ones are nocturnal, so we rarely see them, just hear them.  My favorite is the barred (i.e., striped) owl, whose call sounds like "Who cooks for you?  Who cooks for you-all?"  (But then their mating call sounds like maniacal laughter!)

So what is the answer? Who is cooking?

It was a fun day this morning, we tried to help newly hatched turtles get to the sea. 
It had happened a few times before along this stretch of beach we patronize often.

Someone found the nest after his dog alerted him. This beach has a very wide shore (and the tide was low this morning), so it's not a safe area for hatchlings because there were many people, dogs, sand rakers, service vehicles, and even horses around, and the distance these turtles needed to make was very far.

The dogs around us were curious, but they didn't disturb them except one, who wanted to play with them while they were swimming. (No turtles were harmed!)

A few were already dead in the nest area. One was not moving on the shore, unlike others that were actively moving their limbs. Fortunately, when I put it in the water, it started to swim (although it took awhile) and continued swimming.

We were there for a while and could confirm that everyone managed to fight the wave and make it to the sea. Hopefully, they will survive and thrive.

 

P.S. And this happened in the beach I named after Locky (we can make suggestion in Google map and I did)

His vet recommended clothing at night when he had itch and scratching issue a while ago. I had never bought clothes for him because there was not need for that here, so I had to improvise using my old T-shirt with a rubber band adjustment at the back.

(Of course I might not fit into this T-shirt now. Obviously.)

The cute thing is I think it’s cozy for him, especially during colder hours. He has his cot and access to my bed anytime. He usually comes up after midnight to morning. I like to put blanket on him on normal days and he sleeps in it until it gets hot. I think he likes the T-shirt/blanket when the weather fits.
