I like the snow and the new picture. We aren't getting much of any snow in coastal Maine so far. A dusting this morning after I got home from work, but it's all gone now.

Snow definitely distracting! Even more so than the profile of ALL in that link! Shall follow practical advice to avoid both snow and the Victorian "humbug" Special until I have watched it several times and made the aporopriate connections with the literary works ideas have been lifted from THIS time!

BTW, is our esteemed Administrator playing Scrooge? Because that's a rather famous retort.

Well, dear Carol, the pesky snowflakes cannot be stopped on either an iPad or a MacBook Air, and although I would need to go into a search for the weather in Bristol, to counter our esteemed administrator's comment, I know for a fact that driving to work in sleet and hoping that it hasn't become snow in the evening on your drive home, because snow on the road is always a hazard, is a right pain! I find the real stuff extremely unpleasant, especially when it turns to slush or black ice! So, until the season to be merry is over, you will have the added advantage of my absence. Rejoice in some peace and quiet while it lasts! Heartfelt Season's greetings to all fellow forum members unless BC does something worth reporting! All my best wishes!

The discussion of any possible connection between the "snow" and a recent lack of notification emails has been moved to the "It's snowing!" thread.

Added:  The apparent connection has turned out to be just a coincidence, and Tim has fixed the notification emails.  So we now have both those *and* "snow"!

Nice article about BC that I don't remember seeing before ... a bit of how he got to where he is (hard work, of course! )

Has anyone seen the tweet of BC in full Victorian mode, minus coat, being asked to take off his trousers by Mr Gatiss?

No sooner said than done! CBE Benedict, 39 and a half, father of a baby son and loving husband of a pretty lady, proceeded to do an imitation strip-tease! (Of course, it was cold, so he had thermal underwear on, but the effect of wiggling left me looking like the Sherlock on the masthead for Season's greetings!) With Andrew Scott in the background, just to keep people talking? :D

Simultaneously, it was very revealing (execrable pun, sorry!) in quite another way: the man absolutely refuses to take himself seriously! Here I am vexed by the whole S3-TAB issue, and he treats Sherlock as irreverently as everything else, by being brilliant at his job, but not taking it home with him! From that moment on, I don't care what they do to Sherlock, Mary, Dr Watson, the putative baby or the Moriarty conundrum! BC will do an excellent impersonation of my favourite hero, I shall lay on the hot open sandwiches and go along for the roller-coaster ride and the fun!

lol inge Took me a while to find that . Think they are very much like a big family having a laugh when filming. Brett got very obsessive about Holmes which affected his health and thats a bit of a grounder for new actors taking on the role.

So funny a clip though . Auction it on ebay hahahanha nice to see Mark taking the P of BC.

Yep! Practicing with a double or perfecting a stunt, but for those two to be in the same space would get Ao3 more fodder, not that I mind, lately it's been Christmas for ma petite Aurelie: TJLC wall-to wall! :D

Speaking of which, dear sfmpco's Blackbird #3 was also published there today!

I remember that clip of the Simpsons.  I hunted it down when I saw that Benedict was in it.  The episode aired 3 years ago around Valentine's Day.

Okay, this is really old news, the Norton Show from 2014... One that was really funny unlike the last one IMO -

but the reason why I post it again is that the questions and answers about Star Wars suddenly got a different meaning. :-)

You can also enjoy the Pengwings again and Smaug and Jar Jar Binks...

Oh dear, will ever there be a time when I stop thinking he's the most adorable thing ever ......?

By the way, I'm too comfortable lazy right now to look it up, but BC was spotted at a boxing match ... and he's still got the longish hair. Yay!

I doubt it, unless he was doing the voice-over for Chewie. ;) You'd think some Cumberfan would have outed him by now if he had been.

Didn't he play a storm trooper, hence the outfit?

I haven't yet seen it confirmed that he was actually in Star Wars.  Only speculation because he visited the set which he famously admitted on the Graham Norton Show.   Daniel Craig definitely was a storm trooper.

What!?!?!!?!?! Oh, that's so funny. Was he in the credits?

They should have stuck a bunch of people in storm trooper outfits, that would have been hysterical. George Lucas. James Earl Jones. President Obama. :lol5:

Daniel Craig is disarmingly attractive.  Bless someone for casting him as Bond.  Wait, what was this thread?

How can you tell they didn't... :P

True. Well, then they should tell us about it!
