What was posted above by J.P. concerning the letter to Santa Claus must have been a rough draft, as seen by the perforated right side, because the complete letter I found in The Irish Examiner is in his fine copperplate hand, the one he used in TBB.

Ben's letter to Santa makes rounds on the net.

At least his writing is as awful. What a relief, knowing he's not perfect after all. :P

Awww.. he is just a grown-up playful kid, just like me.

These  are really the nicest wish I have ever known.

This is what I'd like to ask you to help with. A little more time for children to be children.

Distract them from the realities of a world gone mad so that they can laugh with their breath rather than sob with their tears.

Especially those caring for family members, or suffering illness, hunger or poverty.

Especially those hiding in buildings as bombs rain down, or being handed shaking with fear or cold into a boat to escape environmental disaster or war.

It's really really really really really really great he thinks that way.

Now my wish will be to wish that his wish comes true.

He is so imperfectly perfect.

(yah, and his writing is horrible :)

And d*mn you BC, everytime I think I'm over you..)

Sounds like an interesting movie but still in the early stages of announcing things.  Would be great if true.

It was confirmed by Hollywood Reporter! You have a better handle on all things American, but it seemed pretty certain! I know all about making hay while the sun shines, but he will end up missing his son's most important step age of development, from baby to toddler! Oh well, it could be worse!

Eh, no worries, at the speed with which the movie industry normally moves, it will be years before they actually start filming. After all, he's still got Flying Horse and the Current War to get through.... assuming they happen. I notice Yellow Birds has finally dropped off his list of projects.

My first thought was, no lie, "Another WWII movie?"

And mine is pure, undiluted, unadulterated, unvitiated ENVY: BC goes to the Star Wars premiere in London! Maybe the Dear Santa letter had its effect and he will get his lightsaber at long last! :D

Oh, my ears and whiskers! J.P., that is not just anyone they lent BC's face to, that is Grand Admiral Thrawn from the epic series Dark Force! He's the most intelligent, most creative, most capable of the New Republic's enemies. Grand Admiral Thrawn is another cerebral super-being, think Holmes, both ACD and the modernised version, plus sci-if, plus an intellect to match and possibly outwit Spock! I have both the novels and the graphic novelisation, and if Lucas has set his sights on BC, then the dear old vegetable heiress doesn't stand a chance! And a good thing, too. Any capable actor can be Bond, but Thrawn? It will be a combination of Hawking, Sherlock at his best and Turing, plus the ruthlessness of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine combined! The new Republic only manage to win in the end, (like all good guys have to) through sheer luck, because his strategic plan is flawless!

What do yo mean it raised your blood pressure? If they film that with BC, I shall throw my superior stance by the board and start fan-girling with the best of them, and birth year be double-d#%^*#^ ( forty next September), but who's counting!

Looks like he didn't get his lightsaber, but he did get to talk to Harrison Ford, at least that must count for something!

New-look forum bad enough with bits and bytes disguised as snowflakes, not to mention the new "improved" masthead with the image from the Special, must you, dear J.P. add to the misery and to the TJLC element?

Change the theme into "safe for work" and you won't have snow. :)

"Safe for Work" is also minus the Victorian top-of-page picture (in fact, there's no picture there at all).  For those who enjoy having a (non-Victorian) holiday picture but don't care for the snow, there's a "Deviant 3 (No Snow)" theme available.  And for those who like the snow but prefer a non-holiday picture, there's always good ol' IP.Board.

You can change your theme (also known as a skin) by clicking the Change Theme button at the lower left of any forum page and then selecting a new one.

I love the snow.... I find it rather soothing.

Me too.

And is it okay (of course! get out of here!) if I renew my crush to Sherlock when I see the new cover picture?
