I've just been looking at Sherlockology's very lovely "wardrobe" of Sherlock and I'm wondering, have you bought something for yourself or a loved one because Sherlock has one?

if perhaps you haven't and money was no object (because Sherlock seems to have very expensive tastes), other than the Coat, what else would you buy?

Me I like the watch.

I'd like one of his laptops, mine's getting old. :-)

Hello jessjayding and welcome to the forum!

Hmmm, apart from the jumpers, I must say I dig John's style more than Sherlock's. He has a way of effortlessly pulling off casual understatement that is very British .

Hello jesskayding -- welcome to Sherlock Forum!  :welcome:  Congratulations on your first post!

I'm like Caya, more comfortable with John's style than with Sherlock's (not that I've bought any clothing like either of theirs).  But we nearly bought a Union Jack pillow like John's -- except that the Amazon UK vendor doesn't ship to the US.  Maybe we'll find a similar pillow for sale over here -- or maybe we'll get one next time we're in the UK.

I'd love to have a Belstaff coat, though I'm nowhere near 6ft... :D

And that magnifying glass!

And a violin!

I'd like the coat, and John's hunting jacket. I'm reliably informed that I look good in long coats so I'd probably wear that more. :-)

Well he seems to have plenty of them, perhaps he has a spare

John's jacket is soooo expensive,  actually his watch is really expensive.

In that case I'll take two. :) Er, do I have to go into his mind palace to get them?

No they are real, he closed them all when John came in the room

Alas, I can't find the web page, but someone did a brilliant analysis of that scene and concluded that the multiple laptops were part of the mind palace -- John is wearing different clothes than when he first came into the room, stuff like that.

Posted

I saw that analysis too, but not sure that I buy it.  I'd have to watch the program more analytically, and how can I when I'm constantly being distracted by those two?

Just from a logical point of view, though, I don't see how Sherlock could have gotten all that info without actually going online.  The question would then be, did he do it with just the one computer (like us ordinary mortals), or does he really have several (like Jonny Lee Miller's Sherlock)?

Not yet...but maybe sometime soon, if I see some cheaper alternatives! :D

I would love a coat....but being so short it would have to be tailored...and to find a shorter friend.....now there would be a challenge.

Well, "European knot" is sure easier than saying "that thing that Sherlock does with his scarf"!  And Google brings up a bunch of examples that do indeed look just like "that thing."  Thanks, Rose -- now we all know what to call it!

Now there would be a unique item of living-room decor!  (Might actually fit with our color scheme.  Hmmm....)
