I was thinking. Sherlock's tastes in wardrobe & personal grooming is pretty impeccable. I wondered if he is the metro sexual type? Would he get mani-pedis?

What do you all say?

It's hard to imagine Sherlock being fussed over ... on the other hand, it's hard to imagine him paying attention to the details by himself. I think he just snaps his fingers and it all happens, like that.

Right.  Considering how sarcastic he was about Jim-from-IT's "level of grooming," I doubt that he goes in for anything professional himself, other than a haircut now and then.  We did see him getting a professional shave at the beginning of "Empty Hearse," but that was in Mycroft's war room, so I'm guessing that you guys were right about Mycroft.

I will bet that Sherlock trims his nails regularly, though!

He doesn't exactly look as if he needed much maintenance. A hair cut every now and then, sure. I bet he knows some hair dresser who does that almost for free while Sherlock picks up clues and cases in his or her shop. He has nice clothes, which I am sure either "not your housekeeper" Mrs Hudson washes and irons, or go out to a dry cleaner's. Apart from that, all he'd need to do is shower and shave, which may be boring, but it wouldn't take up too much of his time, and I have heard it is possible to think in the bathroom.

Mycroft, sure. I can totally picture him at a spa. But Sherlock? Nah... unless it was for a case.

Yes he does seem to be low maintenance, his hair being merely finger fluff and dry. Although both John and Janine confirmed that he takes forever in the bathroom. Must be the milk baths. The flat and John seem to be perennially out of or running out for milk.

Yeah I just thought that he could get them, per he is well groomed & that scene in TEH inside Mycroft's war room. He seemed very patient, his foot was swaying like my cats tail when she enjoys something. Made me think he enjoyed being pampered.

Yeah, but you'll never get him to admit it!

I got the impression that he was twitchy because he was on his back and not quite healed from the beating he took in Serbia. Could be wrong though.

Jess, do I dare say that's a really cool avatar you're using at the moment?  I'd hate to spook you into changing it again!

Don't know how I missed this before.

There was a certain level of comfort and familiarity about being groomed in the war room, however.  So under certain circumstances, I'm sure it's something he accommodates.

I could see Sherlock enjoying a spa day for some reason & a full day of shopping. I see him in my mind with a tailor measuring every centimeter of his body. Ooooo I would love that job for just that moment.

There's a lot of people who would love that job. However, I half expect that Sherlock would know if his body sized changed and by how much without even measuring it because he would be that good thus making a tailor measuring him totally impractical.

No, I don't know if I can see Sherlock enjoying shopping at all. He couldn't be bothered getting milk or even helping John carry and put groceries away.  Nope, uhah....no way Jose.

A little pampering with his milk bath....wwwweeeelllllll......maybe.

MMmmmmmmm, but he knows the latest trends, He has high end taste, His looks are very important to him. Look at the fit of his shirts & pants & jackets. Then that man  has a personal shopper ( Although I doubt he would trust an ordinary person to dress him).  He cares about his looks, not so much about food. Also he's quite selfish, so it would fit that he wouldn't enjoy food shopping. His selfishness ( the person that spends a long time in the bathroom), would be inclined to do his own shopping... I'm sure it would take him a while per he would be quite particular about each thread being in place.

SherlockedCAMPer you do make a good point about the tailor , I could see that not at all being necessary, however the tailor would need to make marks. Working for a retailer my self that did measurements, the crouch & buttock area can be really tricky. those pins are quite necessary. & the shear perfection of fit, especially with Sherlock's pants... A tailor is certainly involved.

I'm not talking about canon Sherlock, I'm talking about BBC, Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock.
