Oh, right -- I remembered him as soon as you said "cross-dressing."

How quickly we forget those niggling details.

So what are the chances that I get approximately 90 posts (not including the games area) in on here before the end of the year my time?

May have to keep tabs on that later today as now I must be off to sleep.

You've averaged about 13 posts per day since joining in mid-September.  So I'd say the odds are pretty slim unless you intentionally go for it!

Without knowing my average, I was inclined to agree.  I had figured possibly by the end of the week initially, but I'm making a dent so far this morning.

let's see: 27 minutes and 73 posts to go.  Think  I'll try to get it done before the week ends.  But we'll see how close I get before the new year starts in the middle part of the US.

It's good to have goals! :P

Reached my goal finally.  As I figured last week, it'd be by the end of this week and it was. :)

And to celebrate your triumph, John Watson will now sing for you.

I love Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen and the Sherlock Fandom version is epic.  I showed my son this pic the other day and attempted the melody for him so that he would know the song it was based on.

Congratulations, fellow Consulting Detective!  There are now seven of us -- with nothing left to aspire to!

I don't know why, but I laughed the most on number 4. :D

(Not that I'm a bad person, I'd never do that or any other of these probably.)

Exactly. That is right up my alley even if I would never do anything of the sort.

It most certainly does. My sense of humor is odd to begin with and can be dry at times so Sherlock is perfect for me. That could also explain why I laugh at odd points in an episode because I know what is going to happen.

That's OK, at least you're at home.  I also laugh at odd moments in movie theaters, which I assume can be annoying to the other patrons, which is faintly embarrassing to me.  But hey, it was funny!

If they were ever to play an episode of Sherlock in the theater, I'd so be there and it would be bad.  I would be trying to keep the giggles quiet.

That would be really cool, though (showing an episode in a theater, that is -- not necessarily the giggling and screaming).  Can you imagine being in an entire theater full of Sherlock fans?  That happens in London now and then, and I think in NYC once -- but sure as heck not here in the Midwest!

Oh, good heavens -- surely we could find enough mature (and I don't mean agewise) Midwestern Sherlock fans to fill a good-size auditorium!

Oooooh... here's an idea... a 3-day midwest Sherlockian convention thingie, and on Day 1 they show all of series 1, day 2 all of series 2, day 3 all of series 3.  And then other fun stuff like panel discussions and other fun stuff.

I do wish they'd show the episodes in movie theaters. They have the right length, and I am convinced they'd look really good on a huge screen (I was lucky enough to watch a few on a lovely generous family's wide screen home TV once and it was stunning). And the right kind of crowd would be cool as well. Everything is better with a good audience.

I'd pay to see the episodes in the theater with other Sherlock fans!  Absolutely!!!

There actually is an annual Sherlock Holmes convention within an hour's drive of here, but it's clearly tailored for serious across-the-board Holmes fans.  They definitely include Sherlock in their universe of discourse, but it's by no means the centerpiece.

But you're talking about an explicitly Sherlock convention.  I would go!  I might even help out.  But I'm not really up for organizing it.  Even though it sounds simple enough, there would be all sorts of technicalities to deal with.  For example, we would need special permission from the BBC just to show the episodes in a non-home setting like that (read the Warning page at the beginning of the DVD).  We would need to know how many people to expect, meaning that we would need to charge a certain amount of money for psychological purposes, even if we could somehow get the space for free.  We could do panels, of course, but we'd need to get interesting people to be on them.  A few big names wouldn't hurt, to convince people that we were for real ("big name fans" would be fine, Ariane DeVere for example), and we might need to pay (at least) their expenses.  We'd need to gather information for out-of-town attendees regarding transportation, hotels, etc.  And that's just off the top of my head.

If anyone is up for doing all that (and more), that's terrific.  Seriously!  Please let us know about it.
