Every time I see something new it's like "WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!"

Me too! And I love it! As John says: With Sherlock, it is always the unexpected. This series has its faults, but it is never predictable and never boring. And since we know the casting, we're guaranteed a certain level of quality, no matter what it says in the scripts.

I also know I am going to love the special just for imagery. And that Complete Sherlock Holmes of mine is definitely getting a proper makeover once I get my hands on a few screenshots of the cast in period costumes and on Victorian sets. Goodbye ugly illustrations! Goodbye for ever! Hurrrayyyyyy!!!!!

(Oh dear. Can you tell from my language that I spent the last two hours watching teen movies on youtube because I can't sleep? Please say no...)

Nooooooo....  ;)

I agree Sitty & Toby with the "What is going on?!?" thing.  So has me baffled and excited. 11 months is way too long to wait.

And as for the teen movie thing....maybe it was a throw to Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (my son is currently watching) & reading your "Good bye for ever!" reminding me of the White Witch's speech about ruling Narnia forever when she goes to kill Aslan.

I like the caption for the 2nd one. The mustache was given a name [Harold].

Months before Series 3 aired, when the DVD pre-order page had just been put up on Amazon, people started posting "customer reviews" of the episodes, most of which were hilarious.  I posted this question about one of them:

There are 47 reviews now.  I would have clicked on "Newest First" to read just the 10 new ones, but I wanted to ask y'all about this paragraph from one of the older ones:

Sherlock and John's reunion was perfectly executed, although I did find the introduction of Harold Trelawney Mustache a little bit awkward. They were doing a perfectly good job as a two man team before he showed up (and he does seem to dramatically affect their chemistry). Also, his bizarre claims to have worked in a Warburton's bread factory, and to be made of the universe, seemed more than a little far fetched.

Sounds like it should be funny, if only I knew what the heck she was alluding to.  I do understand who "Harold" is supposed to be, of course, but his name and the part about the bread factory sound like references to -- something?

I don't know whether that was the origin of "Harold" or if Lucy was quoting an already-established concept.  I've always assumed that "Harold Trelawney Mustache" was her name for John-with-a-mustache, but you may well be right that it's actually the name of the mustache itself.

*pretends to click the "Like This" buttons as her Positive votes quota got maxed out*  But I agree fully to both even if I will be getting sleep in a few minutes.

Actually Arcadia dear, there are two clues in the DVDs, Nosferatu is much better known but the white one beneath is The P...the Woman...

The only things that come to mind are The woman in Black and The Woman in White, the famous Wilkie Collins sort of crime thriller. Any other suggestions as to the title of the White one that might collocate with the sign WIM ?

Notice also that all the SHERLOCK DVDs are S2.  Might there be a clue in that?  And what does the Al Pacino movie, HEAT, have to do with it?  I am currently dazed and confused.

Sorry, smpfco, the DVD with what kooks like dark smudge is from Series 3, I should know, since I have both the separate series and the Special edition, and that smudge is supposed to be Benedict in the background, but the only thing visible is the Pepperpot. Perhaps they had copyright issues, since in the cover back photograph he is clearly there. Also the Bonus features thing is from the Special Edition of series 3. I may not like what he does at the end, but I watch them too

The Sherlock discs might be all 3 series as 1 is clearly from 2 (read TRF) & another is from 1 (read TGG).

Oh, God, I'm confused that I don't know it    Curly Fu = Ben with curls or not?

It is what the Chinese call this version of Sherlock, apparently.

I miss the curly hair .... :(

I still miss the curls... he looks too much like BC sans curls.  Because you know, they're totally different people...
