Well, I certainly fell down that rabbit hole. An hour later and I don't even know what planet I'm on at the moment.

But it was worth it:

Lestrade!

Curly hair!!

The purple shirt of sex!!!

Yes, yes, I don't care if it's a wig, as long as it's long and curly! :cowdance:  springsmile.gif

God, I miss these folks like my own family. It was like seeing pictures of the kids.

And today's Setlock question would be.... why was Molly holding a baby girl?  Whose baby is that?  John and Mary are no where to be seen today.

And another Molly question - why was she at the crime scene with Sherlock?  Again, no John.

Also, definite that wiglock is in effect for Sherlock, and Loo's shorter haircut didn't fly for Molly.

Is that Molly, or is that Loo?

Ak, the suspense....

Posted

Well Loo certainly doesn't have a baby, and Ben's son is probably starting to walk now... so again the question... whose baby is she holding?

Posted

Gah, I hope there's not more than one baby in the show ... please let it be John & Mary's....

Altho it would be kind of funny if suddenly everyone Sherlock knows is having kids.... :p

Maybe it's some sort of murder that involved a new mother and the child was found alive at the scene... still doesn't explain why Molly was there and not John.

Then again, I could get really shippy and say that Sherlock had a one-night stand with Molly before he was being sent on that MI6 mission, and that this episode takes place over 9 months later and that's their child....nah, would never happen, but I have read that fan fic, believe me!

Someone on Twitter leaked the name of the baby. Brace yourself....

The name is Gay.

I almost laughted aloud in the office.

Now I hear fanfares and bagpipes as the Dreaded Subtext is marching in.

Well, of course it would be!  Gatiss wrote this one.

Because we all want her to be some derivative of Sherlock.  :D

I think we might be able to surmise that Mary and John have got themselves a dog.

Why on earth John gets a new hairstyle? Why the baby in the crime scene? it doesn't make any sense

It's the Case of the Invisible Dog! :lol5:

I wouldn't assume this is a crime scene. They're just walking and talking.

So, real, or red herring?

Beginnings of cheerful domesticity and Sherlock solving crimes with the Watson family in tow, or the set up before the horrible accident/crime that leaves John a broken widower who has to bury his wife, his child, and his dog?

Oo!  Oo!  I know!  They've finally given in to the idea of Johnlockary, and season 4 is going to be filled with the wacky hijinks of our crazy polyamorous triad, the baby, and their new dog!

(OK, seriously.  Not sure about the John hair.  Not really liking the Mary hair, but we'll see what it looks like on screen.  Sherlock hair is the only hair that really matters.)

So the very first thing I thought? Fake scene! Kind of an expensive one, though, so maybe not.

A photo of our gang of four:

Which one are you counting as #4, the baby or the dog? :d

And I like Martin with this hair much, much better.

I can't decide if I like John's hair (or Mary's hair) or not, but I'm sure I'll get used to them. Because I agree with Boton; Sherlock's is the only hair that matters! :P

It's weird ... I've been looking at these pix, and going "Ooooh, there's Martin! Ooooh, there's Loo! Amanda!"

But I see Rupert and Benedict and I'm all "it's Lestrade and Sherlock!!"

Why is that? Do they really look that different when they're in character? Is it the costumes? Maybe the hair? But not in Lestrade's case. So odd........

I have the same reaction.  I think for Martin, Loo, and Amanda, their public personas and the other work that I've seen them in (admittedly limited when it comes to Loo) make me realize that those actors are playing parts (brilliantly).  So, when the whole thing has been through post production and the music and lighting and editing are added and the looky-loos in the background are deleted, I can see the character, but until then I see the actor.

With RG, his public persona as much as I know it (mostly from things I've seen tweeted from Sherlocked) seems to dovetail so well with Lestrade that it is hard for me to divorce the actor from the part, even if he is completely out of context.  I don't really follow a lot of him (or any of them) in any kind of social media or anything, but basically I could see him eating lunch, and it would seem to me like exactly how Lestrade would handle a sandwich.

With BC, it's the opposite.  His public persona is sooooo different for me from Sherlock that as soon as he puts on the coat and starts using Sherlock mannerisms, he's Sherlock.  In fact, I sort of have to keep myself from getting negatively distracted if I see any news or gossip about BC, because it is Sherlock I am interested in following, and anything I know about the actor seems to distract me from the character in a way I find a bit....I don't know...difficult to process, I guess.
