I think those are all examples of him snapping AT someone.  That's OK.  He does that.

Just plain "snapping" is different, and much worse.  It implies some sort of mental breakdown under pressure, so that the person acts out of frustration or anger instead of logic.  Shooting CAM may have been that sort of thing, but it's not at all clear that it was, so I choose to believe it was merely Plan H.

Well, since Janine already bought his cottage in Sussex and got rid of all the bees, I guess he would have to go for Plan B.  His grandmother was French, right?  So yeah, maybe he inherited the family vineyard.  Or olive trees -- he could be pressing olive oil -- extra virgin olive oil.

Oh, lord. <_<

Actually, since he's the one being pressed, maybe he falls into a vat. (Of chocolate. And yells "Fire!") (Sorry kids, that's one for the oldsters like Carol 'n' me!! :P )

I suppose that by "pressed" they mean put under pressure, really driven into a corner by the villain, whoever the next big bad will be.

Or maybe he's caught between a rock and a hard place.

Or he's hijacked and forced to work at sea?

Or he becomes a politician and has to shake a lot of hands.

Or maybe he takes his suit to the cleaners but forgets to get out of it first.

(Okay, folks, this is what you get for ignoring my BRILLIANT steamroller pun! Bwahahahahah......)

I'd rather see the scene when he forgets to get into it again and walks off :P

Although I'm not choosing to "believe' that was his final plan. I know he calculated that's the only thing he could do @ that point or any other point. Mary was right Magnussen had to die, there was no getting around that.

Have you guys seen the rumors about Tom Hiddleston potentially playing the 3rd mystery Holmes brother?  There doesn't seem to be much to these rumors other than wild speculation and the wishes of fans, but I think he would fit in well with the Holmes brothers.  Although, I've only seem him as Loki so I only have that to go off of.

Welcome to the forum, by the way!

I could see that as a possibility in terms of his looks and the little I've seen of his acting (War Horse & trailers containing Loki)

side note: I'm pretty slow at this.. forums huge and 'm taking a while to read it all

that said, I think it was you who posted a link to a sort of insight about His last vow in another thread (might be one about sherlock locations, sorry if I am being confusing.. ): anyway, I wanted to thank you for that link.

it was very interesting and there I read for the first time this morn, the reference to janine's cottage and doyle's books (sherlock holmes retiring and raising honeybees).

I sort of like janine: she's a smart, nice, honest girl and she has always been fair to sherlock. but I prefer molly by far

oh, tommy in sherlock? that would be awesome! he's such a great talent, it'd make the show even better

not sure about the 3rd brother: I have always seen him portraying very passionate men and for some reason, I cannot see him paired to the "ice cold" Holmes bros  ;)  that's only me, of course.

he'd make an excellent villain, though.

plus, he's a very good friend of benedict: it'd be very cool addition tot he series, that's sure!

sherlock's new looks for series 4..? I wish  post-1647-0-26021500-1412972665_thumb.jpg

I love benedict's new haircut: make him dark haired and it's the perfect sherlock.

He played Loki though, and Loki is a pretty cold, calculating character.  I'll have to check him out in some other roles, though.  What all have you seen him in?  Any recommendations?

The only other thing I've seen Hiddleston in is War Horse.  I would check that out.  He stars with Benedict in that film and they both have minor roles. (the main character is a horse)

you're right. loki is mischieious and calculator, but he's got a passion about him that often surfaces, contrary to for ex. mycroft. but then again it's just my very personal POV  ;)

I really like tom, so I have seen him in practically.. everything  :P I also saw him on stage, in coriolanus, alongside gatiss.

aside his loki roles (the avengers, thor and thor the dark world), I'd recommend several other films, all very different from each other: the deep blue sea (taking place in england in the 40'ies-50'ies), archipelago and unrelated (very introspective films by joanna hogg), the funny TV series suburban shootout, return to cranford (BBC period drama), the hollow crown (henri IV and henri V), only lovers left alive, where he plays a romantic and melancholic vampire (very good film)..

these are just a few titles. hope it helps  :D

That's a good assessment of Janine, I think, and I also like her sense of humor.  I can't really say whether I prefer her vs. Molly, though, since they're so different.  I like 'em both just fine.

Please don't apologize for being a bit behind here -- I am frankly amazed and impressed that you're reading through the whole thing.  Besides, it's interesting to have older posts and old threads revived for discussion by new members.

Taking from a recent BBC article:

According to Moffat, many things that viewers do not expect to happen will be happening in season 4. The season is supposed to be a darker one and plans for the season are all top-secret. Moffat also said that the newest season will be devastating and hinted that death is likely to happen to a major character in the series.

Please let it be Molly. PLEASE PLEASE, pleeeeeeeeaaase.

Don't I remember reading similar things about series 3? And yeah, Sherlock even died in that - for like three seconds, before he came back to life. Besides "hinted that death is likely to happen" is not the same as "he said someone dies". And yeah, I did not expect Mary to shoot Sherlock, but I did expect her to have a secret and to be blackmailed by Magnussen - Moffat's definition of "unexpected" has never been terribly accurate, at least not where I am concerned.

Of course the possible "major character death" that comes first to my mind would be Mary, because that's (presumably) part of her original story. I just still think that's too predictable, though. I mean, they couldn't kill Mary and then claim "gosh, you really didn't see that coming, did you".

I just wish series 4 was here. Now. Right now. But only if it's good - and I mean season 1 good.

(All this grump is just me trying to tell myself that I will not get worked up about rumors, I will not get worked up...)

Oh my goodness, I will never google around reading Sherlock rumors again. The stupidest one I just found was "Will Sherlock Holmes be part of a love triangle in series 4?". Sorry, but I couldn't help thinking:

Sherlock_S03E02_1080p_kissthemgoodbye_ne

Sherlock_S03E02_1080p_kissthemgoodbye_ne

Sherlock_S03E02_1080p_kissthemgoodbye_ne

Haven't we kinda sorta seen that already? A love triangle - come on, that's so series 3!

(No, I do not ship anybody. I'm just... observing. And making fun of rumors. Because this particular one is either very stupid, or a clear indicator that my favorite series is going downhill.)
