Series 4 Rumors

I suppose the introduction of "The Other One" could be scary depending on how he/she is played. I can see that as being a big baddie and down right troubling seeing how on the side of angles Mycroft and Sherlock are. And if one sibling is very dark and brooding, like Sherlock only more so and devilishly devious and conniving like Mycroft but again...even more so with an evil bent....yeah....I can see it being very dark and scary. Especially if this person is out to destroy Mycroft, Sherlock....or both.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the other one. But that's a bit too much like the Sherlock/Moriarty dynamic, isn't it? So maybe s/he is an absolute angel, but someone's after him/her. Wait, they already did that with Mary. Okay, maybe ....

 

Lessee, what could possibly go wrong in S4........

 

We know Sherlock receives death threats.

We know Mary's got a dark, possibly murderous past.

We know Sherlock's got a dark, possibly murderous present.

We know there is - or was - another sibling. (?)

We know someone's trying to make us think Moriarty is back. Someone other than Moftiss, I mean.

We know someone wants to send Sherlock on a one-way trip to Serbia.

We know Sherlock is at risk of injecting dangerous substances.

We know John is supposed to be an adrenaline junkie.

Ummmm...... that's enough to be going on with, don't you think?

Ye gods and little fishes, with Mofftiss at the helm the question might well be, what could go right?

And as evil as Moriarty may have been....he wasn't all that dark. Deadly yes, but he wasn't played all that dark. At times he was darn right likable. I see something along the lines of more of a Magnussen type personality. Loathsome to a fault...but with hints of the Holmes boys.....that to me would be down right shivery.

Yeah, but wouldn't most of us go "yeah, whatever"? First they need to build her up into a big hero, have John and Sherlock get all attached and chummy with her, then "bam!" she sacrifices herself to save Sherlock. And Sherlock blames himself. It's VERY important to tear the heart out of the audience when these things happen, y'know.

 

 

I think her death would result in a big reaction.

But whatever happens, at least between the special and series 4 we only have to wait maybe half a year, so they could probably make it a horrible cliff hanger like that.

Seeing as how they're apparently not even beginning to film Series 4 till the very end of next year, I kinda doubt that we'll be seeing the finished product quite that soon. Unfortunately.

 

Maybe Season 4 will reveal the darker side of John, you know? The side that kills to save lives, the bloodthirsty hunter that could run forever on the adrenaline in his veins, the side that hates normal people. We've only seen that side a few times, like when he shot the cabbie and that tiny inkling we got when he looked uncomfortable talking to Mike at the park.

But is that really a "side" of John, or just a collection of minor aspects? Sorry, but I don't choose to see him as nearly the "adrenaline junky" that Mycroft, Sherlock, and Mary would like him to be.  While he may sometimes feel like the odd one out (and he has my sympathy!), I don't see why that means he hates "normal" people.  And I certainly can't see him as "bloodthirsty"!

 

If anyone dies, it has to be a non-"canon" character, is that a safe assumption? Unless it's Mary, which somehow doesn't seem right to me, that's too ... predictable. It can't be Mrs. Hudson, England would fall. Oh gawd, it'd better not be Molly................. I nominate Anderson. He could go down in glory, sacrificing himself for Sherlock. Yeah, off Anderson and leave our Molly out of this!

Frankly, I'd hate to think that Moftiss were going to kill off anyone just to make us sad.  That's such an ordinary ploy!  (By the way, "killing off" a character doesn't always mean that another character kills them.  It's the writers who do the "killing off," so the term also covers deaths due to illness or accident.)

Well, I hadn't considered they might kill someone off to make us happy, but that would certainly be "unexpected!" I still nominate Anderson. Forget making him into a hero first, just have him drop dead. In a funny way.

No! I like Sally. I always have. I sympathize with her being annoyed by Sherlock, even though I love him dearly, and with her loyalty towards and concern for Lestrade.

Looks like they will start filming the block of 3 in S4 in Nov. 2015 right after Hamlet is done... which means he's got to have his Sherlock hair grown out for Hamlet .

And hydrogen peroxide dissolves blood, so give someone enough of it and then they'll kick the bucket...

 

Don't forget -- if an icicle is sharp enough, use that, and then melt it afterwards...

 

If you kill someone in international waters on an unregistered boat and throw the body overboard, they can't trace it back to any one legal system so you won't be prosecuted...

 

You could also just drop a chandelier on him...

However, if they were going to kill off anyone, Molly's death would probably make me the most sad - besides Sherlock's or John's, of course, but in that case, 'sad' is hardly the word. Devastated. Outraged.

Fatal gas embolism (the air injection between the toes thing) isn't quite that easy to pull off - either you need a lot of air (which will arouse suspicion) or you need a better location for your injection and quite a bit of luck, too.

 

Hydrogen peroxide isn't particularly stable outside of acidic solutions, which our blood (pH around 7.4) isn't. Besides, it's an oxidizer, and those are anything but subtle.

 

I have to admit I got nothing on the icicle - but wouldn't it be too brittle? Besides, if it's large enough to stab someone without breaking, the wound would most likely show frost damage if it remained inside long enough to melt. Also, your victim would still have a rather visible stab wound, so method-wise, it's not much of a step up from stabbing them with a kitchen knife and then disposing of it.

 

As for the international waters, there's extraterritiorial jurisdiction. Many countries, for instance the US, have a law on the books that if one of their citizens is involved, they can prosecute anyway (any place outside the jurisdiction of any nation with respect to an offense by or against a national of the United States, to quote the relevant section).
