  1. I don't think they say anything about the contents, I'm afraid. Let's not forget Mark Gatiss just loves this film, and he's always said it's a huge influence: http://www.theguardian.com/film/2010/nov/07/mark-gatiss-sherlock-holmes
  2. There was no word about that in the film, I think :D But I assume it's body parts (a head?), in pure Holmesian fashion :S
  3. The beginning of The Private Life is rather similar to this teaser, the script at least: Mrs. Hudson asking Holmes to please tell her when they're returning so as to prepare meals in advance, Holmes saying it couldn't be predicted, complaints about Watson's writings, complaints about the illustrator... The basket Watson is carrying is there as well, and it looks the same.
  4. Exciting days, finally! After all this tortured waiting. I love the teaser/trailer, my god that episode looks like it will be great fun! I can definitely see The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes and some Granada Holmes there, which is always good news. The full extent of my passion is reignited :D
  5. May I ask why? I mean, he's played by one of the writers - why would Mark Gatiss write his own character out? Besides, Mycroft's death would have too little emotional impact. I guess one could use it as a sort of super-redshirting - if a villain can take the big brother out, he must be really, really powerful and dangerous. But I think Mycroft is more likely to die of a heart attack one day in the very far future and we'll never know about it. Because of the nature of the character: he's morally compromised owing to his job, having to "do business" with criminals like Moriarty or bad guys like Magnussen, which is rather dangerous and shady. Good set-up for tragedy. And because maybe his death would help Sherlock (and us, although I already presuppose he loves him very much) find out what his real feelings for him are/were. As I say, I don't want him dead. If anything, I'd love to see a lot more of him in S4 and S5, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was murdered.
  6. I'd welcome, rather than tolerate, Mary's death :P I wouldn't like Mycroft to die but I have an inkling that it might end up happening.
  7. Oh, shame, it was so neat :( :D
  8. But John is in Sherlock's mind palace (if only by proxy) in HLV, isn't he? He's a voice in TEH, but he's right there in TSOT (his clothes are different when he's MP John -and there are several laptops around- instead of "hangover John" -and the only laptop Sherlock has-) and the places Sherlock associates with John are the setting for the mind palace in HLV (the staircase and the halls from their first case together). Besides, there's Redbeard that was established as a parallel for John by Mycroft in TSOT.
  9. 1. Go on vacation with? Sherlock, of course: exciting fellow. 2. Share a flat with (flatmates only)? Molly. 3. Work with? Lestrade. 4. Have a beer/beverage of choice with? John is pretty amusing when he's drunk :P 5. Spend the day with doing your activity of choice? John, as he's used to receiving orders :D Which actor would you like to be able to text occasionally and have them actually respond to you? Martin Freeman, if only to talk about music a lot of the time; or Mark Gatiss, because I adore that man.
  10. I'd argue it's been a pretty consistent metaphor for sex since Episode 1 (and unaired pilot, too), actually.
  11. I love the promo pic. I was very wary last night because, well, hiatus takes its toll lol but I think they look great there. Apparently, some people are disappointed that John has facial hair (there are also images of him clean-shaven though, so don't panic) and Sherlock has no curls, but this isn't 21st c. Sherlock so wasn't it expected? They look a lot like Jeremy Brett and David Burke out of the Granada Sherlock Holmes adaptation, and they look as Victorian as they must! I hope they'll give specific details, or give us a tiny sneak peek, at the Comic Con tonight, I'm too eager right now to settle for their usual ambiguity :S
  12. I'm a lace wearer, guilty as charged. YES, it can be itchy :((
  13. John would of course grieve if Mary's death was her redemption somehow (however, since I don't believe John loves her that much anymore, it wouldn't be SO tragic for him) but I don't think that's where we're heading. My speculation on this particular topic can get way out of hand so I'll leave it there lol.
  14. Brett is the best canonical one, and he's magnificent, but I love Cumberbatch's take too.
  15. What a wonderful movie. It's no wonder that Mark Gatiss loves it so much.
  16. Yup Watson is daft but other than that, very enjoyable: the mystery is engaging enough and most puzzles are very amusing, some of them even pretty challenging.
  17. Simple and straightforward Google search. I was looking for fan sites and forums dealing with BBC Sherlock.
  18. 1. Favorite board game Scrabble, Republic of Rome (strategy game), chess. Cluedo as well, of course! ;) 2. Bolt holes and do you need them. Anywhere quiet, airy and without people. I need tons of alone time and I dislike prolonged noise so yes, I need them! 3. Other hobbies Since reading won't count, although literature is my main passion: films, music and dancing, animals, mythology, ancient history, physics (amateur, though), philosophy, travelling. 4. Pet peeves People who lack courtesy and/or empathy. People who need to be the centre of attention. Cruelty and pettiness. 5. Unpopular opinion I think Lost and Breaking Bad are average series at best. Don't hate me, please :P
  19. I'm Spanish too, from Galicia
  20. A couple of friends and I have tickets, I'm so glad.
  21. 1. John. I'm such a sucker for John, really. Everything about him, I find intensely alluring. 2. Lestrade. Nice, decent guy, and quite attractive. 3. Moriarty. I know, I'm creepy. My love for Sherlock is strictly platonic. I'm sure he'd be okay about it xD
  22. Are the novels any good? A came across several of them in a box set. The price was tempting, but I'd like to have several opinions first.
  23. And how I hate BC's hectic schedule, lawd... :( I guess it won't be the case of casting TH but a girl can dream!
  24. -Sherlock (duh! haha) -True Detective -Fargo -Mad Men (farewell!!!) -Doctor Who Right now liking, but still too early to judge: -Happy Valley -Hannibal
  25. Yes, that dreary possibility is there, I'll give you that. But that episode was so weird, it seemed so ambiguous and obfuscated from the moment Mary shot Sherlock, that I highly doubt that they're setting it all up for her redemption. That's sort of what they sold us after that "client-like interrogation" at 221b, but they sold it to us in such a fashion that it's extremely hard to feel sympathy for her. No apology, no revealing of any past deed, we don't even know her name and, truly, I don't believe a man who has "trust issues" such as John Watson would elect not to know something as basic as that. The name. How he and Sherlock trusted each other with their full names, yet "Mary" is not even her real one. I think John lied when he said those "prepared words" to her. Remember that they had been apart for several months and we have no idea what Sherlock and John discussed without her hearing them because we leap forward from the "interrogation" at 221b to John and Mary at Christmas several months later. How do we know Mycroft, Sherlock ("always your way") and he aren't on to something about her? Maybe plotting, maybe just trying to deal with the situation in a way that won't harm John's daughter. Many of us thought HLV was hitting some false note. There was some weird dissonance regarding Mary's scenes: Mary shoots Sherlock, he survives because he fights back from death (not because she performed surgery; bad surgeon, HE DIED, then he became fully aware in his mind palace that she was evil and John was in danger and that's why he lived again), Sherlock stages it all so John can see with his own eyes what his wife truly is, and then all is forgiven and Sherlock is siding with her??? And John agrees that she deserves a second chance??? It doesn't make any sense to me. I don't think it was bad writing (mostly because all the other episodes are nothing short of brilliant, so the creators have tons of credit in my mind), I think they gave us a very unreliable POV and showed us a puzzle which will be sorted out throughout S4. It would have been so easy to script a great season finale and an amazng cliffhanger, yet they did it this way. Even the tarmac scene was... uncharacteristic, somehow. There must be a reason and I'm intrigued to find out. Also, sorry about my English and about any mistakes. It's not my 1st language.
