  1. I'm like Alex. If I don't recognize the number I don't pick up. That's what the answering machine is for. If it's important they will leave a message, or I can pick up when I know who it is. Does that make me a bad person?
  2. I think J.P. May be referring to the fake commercial/skit BC did when he hosted SNL, which I thought was in very poor taste, but then I think most of their skits are in poor taste. It's why I never watch SNL, except when certain very talented actors are on, even if their talents are wasted on mediocre writing.
  3. My head canon alone, but I always thought that Irene was probably bisexual, but that she had long ago divided things in her mind so that women = fun and men = work. I know that the opening scene of SiB involved her having a "work" interaction with "that posh thing" who was female, but I thought that maybe she found whatever men typically liked from her in her work life rather distasteful, so she determined that she wasn't that into men. I absolutely interpreted it that way. I think that Eurus could hear a soulfulness in Sherlock's playing that indicated to her that he had an emotional event in his life. They had already discussed whether playing a piece technically correctly was the same thing as playing it well; perhaps she heard Sherlock infuse the song with emotion, especially since he composed it and would naturally infuse it with all the emotion he has when thinking about Irene. In some ways, SiB may be the first chink in the armor that eventually leads to Sherlock embracing emotion. No, you're not. It is something to be very careful with. On the other hand, I wonder if those who are more in the middle of the Kinsey scale might have a little fluidity there, and someone like Irene could say that if Sherlock is on the table (metaphorically, guys!), then he is who she is interested in. Now, Molly. Molly. Wasn't this thread supposed to be about Molly? Um, yeah. So, I do hope that Sherlock slept with Irene a couple of times at least before he had anything to do with Molly; no one really wants to suffer through a man who is an absolute beginner. :P I don't think Molly would mind Sherlock not having a lot or any experience. She would be infinitely patient with him.
  4. I agree with all this, except the "shipping", I love Sherlolly. I thought there were several times Molly could, and should, have been brought into the storyline. I would have loved a scene, even a small one without dialogue, showing Sherlock and Molly interacting in some way. Anything to fill the gap between the distraught Molly after the phone call and the happy Molly at the end. Also why was she upset before the call? I'm probably in the minority but I believe that after this season it's totally feasible that they could have a relationship. Not a typical one, but still a romantic one, and a very tentative one at first. I didn't think it was possible during the first two seasons but their dynamic changed in season three, and reached a whole new level with this season. I just hope that it can/will be explored if there is another season.
  5. It is odd, though, that two places where she was located both burned down--their home and the first institution she was placed in, after which she was moved to Sherrinford. I think it was implied that she started the second fire also, whether intentionally or not is unclear. But you know what Mycroft says about coincidence.
  6. The thing that looks like a gray strawberry, you mean? Darned if I know. Maybe just an optical illusion? Some people have speculated it's an ear bud. (Geez, even I think that looks wrong, and I wrote it.) Headphones! Thanks. You're probably right. I couldn't figure it out.
  7. What is on Ben's shirt in the pic of him and young Sherlock? I've tried zooming in on it but can't make it out.
  8. The movie was "Royal Wedding" and it was set in London during Queen Elizabeth's coronation, made in the early fifties. The set was built on a huge drum and the entire room turned with Fred dancing the whole time. The camera was mounted on the set and turned with it. I love Fred Astaire. He was very innovative and creative with his routines and use of the camera.
  9. Thank you, I never thought I would see the actual footage, I thought it was just words from a text-based interview. Mark is in particularly crafty form when he says 'you'll never quite know'... I can't get the video to play. Is there a narrative of what was said?
  10. In regards to Redbeard, could it be a metaphor for Eurus? I know we've seen Redbeard in Sherlock's mind palace, but what if it is a name from their childhood game of pirates, with Sherlock being Blackbeard and the sister being Redbeard?
  11. PBS is showing TAB on Friday, December 30th.
  12. Can I have an S please?
  13. Love the snow! It flurried here all day. It was very pretty and nothing stuck so travel was not affected. I'm starting to get I to the holiday spirit!
  14. Whose house is burning? It reminds me of Sherlock's parents home, but was theirs that big? And is that Mycroft watching it?
  15. I don't see a rifle either. I do see Sherlock's violin.
  16. I got Mrs. Hudson too!
  17. It's always puzzled me how Sherlock, even as good as he is, could deduce Adler's measurements. I've watched that scene several times and apart from possibly a split second when she first walks in his eyes never leave her face. Now I've realized that he saw pictures of her beforehand. He was shown pics from her website as well as candid shots at the palace. So making a big deal about Sherlock studying a naked woman is really nothing. I don't know why this never occurred to me before, I'm obviously I'm no Sherlock.
  18. I got 30, so I guess I'm barely human.
  19. I just recently saw the filmed stage version of Frankenstein and thought BC was amazing at showing the creature's learning process, his developing humanity and his puzzlement at human emotion and actions. I wish I could have seen his Hamlet. Any chance of his stage performances coming out on DVD?
  20. I saw this recently with my niece and we both liked it, and my feelings are about the same as yours, J.P. I too thought the beginning was too long and am also curious to see the alternate version. I thought B.C. was great, of course, and the play had some twists and turns. I read the book a long time ago but some scenes jogged my memory. Overall an enjoyable experience and not as distracting as I thought a filmed stage play would be. My niece was a theatre major in college and I was interested in her opinion and she loved it.
  21. Dr. Strange did well this weekend at the box office didn't it?
  22. I'm appalled and scared.
  23. Well you all have pretty much summed it up for me. I watched and even though BC was good the show just reinforced why I've never been a fan of SNL. The humor is crude and most of the skits aren't funny. I will say on a very shallow note that I particularly liked BC's look in the professor skit. Really liked him in the glasses.
  24. Who was on the one you watched? It must be slightly delayed. You can watch iPlayer in other countries, but you need to have VPN or something similar so the website thinks you're in the UK. The Martin Freeman one I as talking about isn't available on iPlayer now, they only have episodes on there for a few weeks. :( I didn't see the episode but Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Chris O'Dowd were listed as the guests.
  25. The Graham Norton show airs on my satellite carrier on BBCAAmerica on Saturday nights (for now, they keep moving it). BC wasn't on last night and he's not listed on next week's show either. Are the shows delayed on this side of the pond?
