Yes, it's crazy.

Lucky for me, I don't have deep attachment for any characters in GoT.

I think the book had made me numb, which is great because I can watch the show without being affected emotionally, standing from far and really just treat it as fiction and a show.

Can't say the same thing with Sherlock at all. Damn.

Also, don't think this is spoiler, hence no spoiler tag, bcs if people reading this don't understand the initial, they won't know.

I have crazy theory that popped up last night, that Sansa will be LS.

Posted

Oh my, please no :(. Haven't they done enough to her already in the series, in addition to what the books throw at her? Unfortunately, I think you may well be right about that - maybe that's why the original LS was a no-show.

Getting attached to chars in GoT is dangerous, agreed. Nevertheless, if GRRM ever does Tyrion in, there will be hell to pay :P.

I think the series would be over. If he wants to kill him, he'll have to wait until the end. Even Game of Thrones needs some kind of a hero - and even there, some characters are indispensable.

I do wonder what the ending will be. It seems like a story that is next to impossible to end properly. I'd probably be most satisfied if everybody died, the dragons ran amok and the last shot was the big black one breathing fire into the camera and so killing the audience as well...

GRRM once stated that the ending will be "bittersweet". Coming from him, I'd say bring the hankies ;).

Posted

I think he also stated that there would be ruins with background of mass grave.

Not sure where I read it from, sounds cheerful isn't it GRRM?

I think someone unexpected will survive after all it's done.

I'm betting on Hot Pie.

So it ends.

Spoiler doesn't contain storyline, just opinion.

Plethora of lazy writings, character assassinations and abandoned story lines.

Except one episode. One of ten.

Worse, it reduces my motivation to look forward to the new books.

If you want to watch it, lower the expectation might help a lot.

Yeah, I've read the spoilers by now and, well, meh. They did such great work with Stannis on the show and then those last two episodes?

As for looking forward to the books, I've pretty much abandoned hope that GRRM will live to complete the series - I'll be pleasantly surprised if he does, but more likely the series is all the closure we're gonna get. Bleargh .

At least we've seen two certain people meeting, which in the books was delayed for no logical reason I could see .

I hope he gets annoyed of what the showrunners did in this season and write fast.

Very sure that he would get the next book out before Season 6.

Er, to quote his blog post from June 10:

Life is impossibly busy right now. I am wrestling with the Son of Kong (that is, working on THE WINDS OF WINTER), trying to wrap up a final round of edits and revisions on the twenty-third Wild Cards book (HIGH STAKES), developing three new series concepts for HBO and Cinemax, hiring writers and directors for three short low-budget films I am hoping to produce based on some classic SF short stories (more on that in the months to come), making my way through the Hugo Packet to prepare to vote, looking forward to opening JURASSIC WORLD at the Cocteay and to hosting a ten-author special event for the release of Steve Stirling's new "Emberverse" anthology, THE CHANGE. In a week's time, we'll be flying off to Europe for long-planned appearances in Germany (Hamburg) and Sweden (Stockholm), en route to Archipelacon on the island of Aland, where I am to be the Guest of Honor...

Doesn't sound like too high a priority from here .

10 June, one week before finale.

Arghhh...

Maybe I'm optimistic because I thought he would care more about his work being 'ruined'.

Beside that, there should be certain level of influence from the show and fan's reactions to his writing, and I don't think he likes it as a writer. Also, with all the theories created out there, from years and years of hiatus and waiting, sooner or later, there would be nothing unique left.

But, then again, I have only been waiting for 3-4 years..

I picked up the first book while looking for something else at the bookstore (back in dial-up times, when such things still existed ) entirely per chance ... back in 1998. *deep sigh*

The second and third book weren't half bad as far as waiting was concerned, only a year or so for each. Then, it all went downhill.

I'm all with Paul and Storm here, "You’re not our bitch, and you’re not a machine, and we don’t mean to dictate how you spend your days - but please, bear in mind, in the time that you've had, William Shakespeare churned out thirty-five friggin' plays".

I'm still bothered by the news that they chose a twenty-something model as bofy-double for forty-something Cercei. As if we women weren't insecure enough about our bodies... And didn't the books explicitly mention her struggle with the ravages of time?

In a roundabout way, yes - like her blaming the washerwoman for having shrunk her dress instead of realizing that she's getting plumper. But iirc, at that walk of shame she did realize the limits of her body suddenly. Alas, ratings trump realism, I guess.

Oh my.. so true.. hahahaha, and pages to describe a meal :)

Agree. It is very clear in the book that the walk is the progression of Cersei still thinking she is the great, ending with her realizing that she is indeed not that great and has many flaws.

Missing the essence of storylines, is getting too often, leads to disappointing Season 5 and parts of Season 4.

I still can't understand why they left Tysha storyline out when Jamie rescued Tyrion. For me, that is so important.. otherwise why would a smart Tyrion wandering through the tunnels and made a visit instead of escaping? Not enough motivation.

Therefore, I think this might be the time I really understand what you had been saying about Sherlock, Toby.

That you prefer for it to end at Season 3, instead of having more seasons that may ruin it.

Although I don't fully agree about Sherlock, yet, cross finger I will never! Hopefully never see the day for it to get bad.

I feel nothing for GoT now. It has gone downhill to just another TV series for me.

While we are on it, there is a show that really cherish the realism of human body. It's not my favourite show, but I applaud them for it. Check Orange Is The New Black, the actors are proudly displaying their faces and bodies, untouched.

So, we're finally almost caught up with GoT.  Two episodes left in season 5, and then we'll be waiting on season 6 like the rest of you.

I HATE Cersei.  Hate.  I'm glad Tywin is gone, but whatever small amount of sympathy I had for her and her messed up upbringing is long gone.

Life was simpler when I didn't like Jaime Lannister.  Was he making heart eyes at Tarth?  What's up with him and Brienne?

So excited to see Tyrion and Dani finally meet!

Enough with the Sparrows and the Faceless God crap.  I'm over both.  Run, Arya... run far, far away.

ETA:  Sansa would have been better off marrying Lord Baelish than Ramsey.  Ugh.

Welcome..!

So your favorite character is Jamie?

What about episode you like best.

To me, I like all Lannister the second generation: all three; Tyrion, Jamie, Cersei.

I like Khal Drogo too :P

Although he is ruthless, I think Tywin is actually a very effective and brilliant strategist.

(I played strategy war game..so..)

I think Tyrion is maybe the coolest dude in GoT.

Jamie became good too.

And John Snow is also amazing

even though he is dead but who knows...maybe he'll return as a dead or something. There is a theory going on you've probably heard of. It's about John Snow being bit Tygerien... I mean, he'll return, we've seen him in the teaser. So even if he won't return as a living John Snow he'll kinda like return to the show somehow, or at least we're gonna see a bit of John in Series 6.

You understand what I mean?

Regarding theories and conspiracies, you name it, I have read about it.

There was one time when I had a lot of time and GoT was the show I was into.

Posted

Oh, no.  Jaime isn't my favorite.  My favorite character hands-down on the show is Tyrion.  But I went from hating Jaime to kinda liking him in the last few seasons.  So confusing... I mean, he pushed a kid out the window to his supposed death.  Cersei not so much.  I still can't stand her.

That is actually one of the main reasons why I like GoT. Everything is grey.

Almost nobody is straight up villain *cough*Jeoffrey*cough* and nobody is straight up hero.

The problem is, I don't see anyone of them interested in that chair.

I'm dead at the umbrella chair.

*giggles* They have more more comfortable throne at this age, complete with the 21th century amenities.

Umbrella and swords... Want to bet what is concealed in the wooden handle of Mycroft's ever-present umbrella? :D
