Game of Thrones

Does anyone else follow this series?  I've read the books, but this episode was still hard to watch- yet I feel like the elephant in the room (for the book readers) is gone now, and that the real fun can begin.  What did others think of it, no future spoilers, please!

Well, reactions were intense, it seems - even GRRM himself found it hard to watch apparently. Haven't seen the episode yet, I've become a bit numb to the whole series since he keeps delaying the next book (where something actually happens, I should add), but I'm planning to watch this one since I've heard good things about it.

Numbness or not, I must say that reading that chapter was one of the most intense reading experiences of my whole life. I could hear that damned music in the background as I read on and on, caught in train-wreck-fascination.

Just remember, every time you as George Martin when the next book is coming out he kills another Stark.

Yes, but I still hold out hope that at least one Stark will remain standing at the end of it all!

You and me both :hugz:. However, given that he's stated several times that the ending will be "bittersweet", I don't hold out much hope.

Mark Gatiss will appear in Season 4 of Game Of Thrones.

No word as to who he'll play, yet, though (they're probably saving that announcement for ComicCon).

Hello, fellow GOT/ASOIAF fans. I was wondering whether some of you have read the manga series Berserk?

I think this is one of the best series ever. I have just finished watching Series 2 of 'Game of Thrones' - don't have Sky so received 2nd series as Christmas present.

My personal favourite is Tyrion Lannister - you have to feel sorry for the bad luck he gets!!!

Oh yes, I dearly loved Tyrion in the books, and then they went ahead and cast him so perfectly.

Oh btw, I saw I forgot to post an update - Mark Gatiss will be playing Tycho Nestoris (the guy from the Iron Bank) in Season 4.

I haven't read the books - another of the things to do in 2014 :)

Don't be too disappointed - the quality of the series takes a bit of a nosedive after book 3 imho, he's been waffling ever since and nothing much happens.

But the first few are glorious. And since you've already seen the Red Wedding, you won't be too shell-shocked :).

Love the series. Even though I knew what was coming, the Red Wedding was still very difficult to watch. Impatiently waiting for the next book. Glad Mark Gatiss will have a role in the new season.

I must admit I never watched that particular episode ... chickened out. Reading was bad enough .

There are rumors that the next book will be out by the end of this year, but, you know, GRRM. I wouldn't hold my breath at this point.

Game of Thrones as 8-bit art. Spoilers for up to season 3 (series) and half of book 3 (books).

It was a brutal episode to both read and watch... and I throttled thru books 4 and 5 hoping that the responsible parties will get their just desserts :shoot:

Well, given how GRRM's chars drop like flies, they probably will . He usually reserves the truly brutal and/or embarrassing deaths for villains, so I too will be there with popcorn when Lord Frey meets his well-deserved end :P.

Dunno if anyone round here still watches this show, but if you do, these recaps here (If Game of Thrones took place entirely on Facebook) are hilarious . They are, however, NSFW, but they'd be hard pressed not to, given the show's nature.

Gatniss was awesome in the last episode. The sneers were perfect!

Oh yeah ... if you think he plays Mycroft as a smug [censored], you haven't seen him as a banker yet .

Even Stannis was intimidated cannot wait for more. I'm more a reader than a watcher of the series, usually get a little irked when they change or fast forward events but this was brilliant.

Yeah, they've made a couple of questionable alterations for sure (Jaime at the sept - wtf?) but this one was great.
