Are you saying you're an exiled Scottish noblewoman?

I do hold title to a very small plot of land in Scotland....

I want to go see it when I get to England next year.

Actually, I think you'd have to go to Scotland for that!  ;)

So that's what you meant when you said "if I get old" -- well, take good care of yourself, and I wish you the best of luck!

Sherlock deduced that the man in the restaurant is about to become father, because the sound of his text message was a baby's cry.

Can anyone read lips? I wonder what Sherlock not-said to Jim at the pool when Jim is answering the phone.

4. Is anyone else driven to distraction by the close-ups of the back of BC's head? Oh, that curl....

It's not only in TEH. :)

I have heard some say that John blinked SOS at Sherlock in TGG.

OMG, is THAT what it is? I heard the baby cry but I never realized it was his ring tone. Thanks, that's one that's been driving me crazy.

Ariane DeVere says it's "oh, it's fine."

I know, but for some reason I'm particularly ... uh ... captivated ... by it, in that episode. :P

Yeah, but I've also seen where people say that's not correct. I can't tell, myself.

I believe I've heard that the idea of yay-many matchboxes around a dead man are from Conan Doyle, yes -- but in that case the nth box contained a rare tropical beetle or some such thing.  That glowing object is apparently from a (non-Holmes) movie, which I am sure someone will be glad to identify.

I wish someone would! It seems so familiar but I can't place it .... arrrrghghg....

Google to the rescue!

The matchbox itself comes from a brief mention in "The Problem of Thor Bridge":

... the case of Isadora Persano, "who was found stark staring mad with a match box in front of him which contained a remarkable worm said to be unknown to science".

(OK, so it was a worm, not a beetle.  And the number 1,812 apparently refers to the war of that year.)

And several sites identify the glow as a reference to a glowing briefcase in Pulp Fiction.

Okay, not acquainted with either of those, yet it still seems familiar to me. I'm thinking some sci fi show or something ... ? Something from Dr. Who maybe? Or I could be making it all up......
