My E colleague who is also a friend works in my office for a week or two. She keeps wanting to chat and I couldn't concentrate.

But she is in the middle of serious work problems and look up for advice so I can't really do my usual Ignoring and Piss-off mode.

Today she is off taking medical leave and it's very very quiet, nice and peaceful, I'm happy.

Not everyone say I'm good person, and those who said that don't know what they are talking about.

Bahahahaha..

Sweet never used in same sentence with me even if I fell into gigantic honey jar or fondue fountain.

And for some reason I always fall on painful places. XD why...

Took awhile to look up something for this thread:

Which MBTI Type Would You Rather Be.

As always, it takes time to recognize that we are 'sweet' in the real sense of caring people instead of being the looks-so-nice-outside-but-secretly-rotten-inside. Many of us act as ENTJ in the workplace but being INTJ the act is very taxing to internal resource we need that quality time for destressing (for the sake of world peace :p).

Sweet? Maybe some other INTJs, I really don't think that applicable to me in any way. Maybe those who has improved their F side.

Only about INTJ in the box.

But curiously, I did a bit of reading and came across a forum post where an ENTP asked other members to list the bright sides of INTJ (because apparently everytime there is discussion about us it's all only dark stuffs! Oh dear.. the reputation., not that it bothers me at all :))

It seemed impossible at first for others to say nice things, but when it came out, it came out. Between mountain of usual negative things of course. Some are brief, some very thoughtful from the Fs, and some great ones from fellow Ts.

The common ones are the refreshing honesty, priceless sense of humor, never personal/always logical, witty, loyal, and authenticity with no sugar coat so people always know where they stand with INTJs.

Special ones are fascinating & intrigung minds, fluffy center(!), creepy in adorable(!) way, exoskeleton, cute(!) but cute terrifying mastermind, and don't contribute to over population since they are so few of them (like this one ), flat-lined/very intense face ().

But sweet? Naaah.. only two mentions, one saying sweet and then they take you out back for harsh caning (I believe it is extreme sarcasm that is misunderstood) and another is they can be sweet and considerate when they remember, once you gain their trust.

So maybe you are quite alone in sweet department SD XD (although I know you didn't mean it in literal way) but    (copy Arcadia's emoticon :P)

Has there ever been a discussion on here of what we think some of the cast and crew are, or just the characters?

I did finally go back and start reading this thread, I hadn't read most of it, and I am glad to see Molly Hooper and I are the same type according to that one chart!  INFJ!

@VBS: Pff... My very low Fi and Fe scores listed on this thread. One doesn't need a developed F to become sweet (read, genuine caring for other people's well-being instead of faking it to butter them up/boot-licking). We are pragmatic and we don't need much external approval. On top of that we think long-term and doesn't balk from issuing harsh measurement for the sake of a better future instead of sweeping trash under the carpet for the sake of 'harmony'. Of course it is translated as the very opposite of 'sweet' because the 'don't rock the boat' crowd prefers to not weather the change that is necessary.

@sittything: Nope, just the characters so far.

Anyone want to play what is Benedict's personality?

Posted

Benedict seems somewhat quiet and reserved while outgoing.  Maybe an outgoing introvert or a shy extrovert.  He's a homebody by his own admission so introvert is more likely.  Maybe an ISFP.  A couple of descriptions that seem to apply based on some of his interviews: "ADVENTURER" Flexible and charming artists, always ready to explore and experience something new.  Or Nightcrawler is very agile and an important member of the X-Men team.  He is intelligent but also reserved, with a gentle spirit. He is caring and happy-go-lucky, with a teasing personality.

Yep, I agree with what you said, but I still use other word than sweet, genuine caring sounds more like it, I agree most never do it for recognition or gratitude. Maybe in a way genuine caring can be sweet. (But dear lord, :lol5: sweet!).

However I have to emphasize also that the line between very caring/don't give a crap is very thin, especially outside loved ones. When I think someone doesn't deserve to be cared, I could just stand and look at them suffering. At my best, they don't see me around.

I am not sure if BC is I or E. But agree with the FP, Camper. I go with N though, so xNFP.

Well of course, even soldiers fights for personal reasons and most often the centre of it is those they care about.

Alright, you may not become 'sweet' to prevent ants and various creepy-crawlies from taking a bite or two. nod-skype-smiley.gif

My initial reaction is actually that I think he's an INFJ.  Now yesterday, before I went on my obsessive multi-hour MBTI google cruise, I only knew that MBTI had the letters E/I, N/S, F/T, J/P. But now that I've opened a whole Pandora's box of dominant, auxiliary, tertiary, and inferior traits and functions... I think I'd say different.  If functions and functional stacks weren't discussed earlier:  http://personalityjunkie.com/functions-ni-ti-fi-si-ne-te-fe-se/ and http://personalityjunkie.com/functional-stack-type-dynamics-theory/     http://i82.servimg.com/u/f82/17/36/75/26/mbti-b10.jpg

My reasons for thinking he's an INFJ:

I think he's definitely introverted, for sure.  I sometimes get the impression being a celebrity becomes exhausting to him.  Whereas, Hiddles seems to feed off it.  Plus, the quote SherlockedCAMPer mentioned above.

I also think he's an F, specifically he's got Fe (extroverted feeling) floating around in his 4 traits somewhere, because he seems concerned with what others think and in making others comfortable/happy.  People pleaser... Hamlet stage doors he wasn't gonna do?  If he's Fe then he also have to have Ti (introverted Thinking).

He really strikes me as an NF with all of his humanitarian concerns and charities that he advocates for, so if he's NF (Idealist) and an Introvert, he'd have to be INFP or INFJ... INFP wouldn't fit b/c INFP is introverted feeling so that only leaves INFJ.

So that's how I got there.  lol

I've also spent all day on Sherlock's and I'm having a hell of a time... I came up with ENTJ, but I dunno that my first thought would have been that Sherlock is an extrovert.

I came up with ENTJ, but I dunno that my first thought would have been that Sherlock is an extrovert.

I'm interested to know why you think so, because to me Sherlock is hardcore Introvert.
Posted

If Sherlock was an Extrovert he wouldn't snap in the Cristmas Disaster scene. He would enjoy people being around and chatting happily. He wouldn't escape into watching things on his laptop, just to get away from the situation.

Also my impression is that BC is an introvert and a feeler.

Posted

I only landed at ENTJ by the process of elimination.   :D   Admittedly, my new found function/functional stack knowledge of like 24 hours is a bit weak and probably incredibly inaccurate, and I wouldn't necessarily assume that trying to get there by the process of elimination is the best way to go about this.  But this isn't stopping me from trying to work it out!

I started with the assumption that Sherlock is an I, so yay for an easy start, right?

I tend to also think that Sherlock is an N rather than an S b/c of the seeming intuitive leaps he makes in his deductions.  He gets there logically, yes, but intuition doesn't mean you just make a leap... you compile all the data to understand the larger picture/how it all works.  Anyhow, so at this point I was at IN... easy enough, right?

So if I've got IN my options at this point are only INFJ, INFP, INTJ, and INTP.

Functional stack for these looks like (small e is extroverted, small i is introverted):

INFJ:  Ni Fe Ti Se

INFP:  Fi Ne Si Te

INTJ:  Ni Te Fi Se

INTP:  Ti Ne Si Fe

I eliminated INFJ right off the bat b/c their auxiliary function is Fe... and that is so not Sherlock.  Harmony and pleasing/getting along with others is not his thing.  I also eliminated INFP and INTP b/c Sherlock is most definitely not an extroverted intuition person.  He may brainstorm aloud at times, but he's very methodical about how he does it and he doesn't just consider all the facts.  Only things he observes are relevant.

I don't like that the inferior function on INTJ is Se as I think Sherlock is very much that.  Basically, I think Sherlock has a mix of Te, Ni, and Se.  Which means his F has to be Fi, since the T is Te.

Options we're then left with are:  ENTJ, INTJ, ESFP, and ISFP

Feeling (Fi) has got to be pretty low, potentially his inferior function, so if you eliminate any of those with the Fi in the dominant or auxiliary function you've got:  ENTJ, INTJ

The functional stacks for the SPs look like this:

ESFP:  Se Fi Te Ni

ISFP:  Fi Se Ni Te

So we've just eliminated that he can be an S at all.

I went with ENTJ over INTJ only because in INTJ (Se) is the inferior (4th) function, and that seemed odd to me.

ENTJ's functional stack looks like:  Te Ni Se Fi

INTJ:  Ni Te Fi Se

I like it overallish, just not the E part, unless he's a really borderline low E.  But I wouldn't rule out INTJ either.
