He also plays Menenius in NT’s “Coriolanus”, but I think that ends today.

Yeah my pal just managed to catch it before it disappeared...he was very good.

But as ever the best part of it was Mark's Twitter exchange with a fan girl, at the time.

She tweeted Mark: do you and Tom come out after the show?

(She received a classic Mark reply)

Mark: I am already out and Tom isn't gay.

Sorry for being incredibly stupid and not seeing which forum this should go in!

But I saw this last night.

Had no idea Mark was in it, so it was a bonus!

My pal knew I was a fan and realised I would be pleased.

Anyhow, he was really good.

Great film.

Harrowing, but glad I saw it.

Bet it was a brilliant stage play.

From that article:

Quote

The UK Theatre Awards are the only nationwide awards to honour and celebrate outstanding achievements in theatre throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland by UK Theatre members.

Have never had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Gatiss on stage, but I'm impressed!

Just came across this:

Sherlock star Mark Gatiss is writing and starring in a British TV drama about a bookshop owner who helps police solve crimes.

Bookish will be a six-part series for UKTV crime drama network Alibi set in post-war London in 1946. Gatiss [....] is the creator.

The series will follow Gabriel Book (Gatiss), an “erudite and unconventional” sleuth who cracks mysterious cases from his antiquated bookshop, using the thousands of books that line his shelves to provide him with the knowledge that he needs. Around him are a gathering of “loveable, damaged misfits who he informally protects, cajoles and mentors.”

Sounds delightful!  Only problem is, will it ever be available outside the UK?

I had never heard of anyone named Book, so I checked Find a Grave (where you can search a database-in-progress of cemeteries), and found that the surname Book is found roughly as often in England as Gatiss is -- i.e., not common, but certainly not unheard-of.

Was this from last year?

I did refer to something then...

But my pal did just say about him having received some award.

This seems to be quite recent.

Actually, it was mentioned [here] last year, but the good news could still be making the rounds.
