Basically all the characters are amazing, except Anderson..bloody Anderson.

I think Anderson is amazing as what he is: the annoying one that just gets on everybody's nerves, particularly Sherlock! As long as he remains that, and nobody tries to build him into something he was never meant to be...

We could have an AU Anderson who is all smiles, compliments, glasses and brylcreemed hair, we could dress him in a nice cardie and have him as the shy endearing one... *Oh wait...* :lol4:

Sounds like that has been done before, elsewhere... :P

Sherlock, obviously! I'm crazy about this character.

When I was little I used to adore the manga "Detective Conan", which is about a teenager who loves Sherlock and wants to be a detective as him. He is as brilliant as Sherlock, so then I found out who was Sherlock and I started reading the books. Even though, I love Watson too, he's so kind!!!!

At least Donovan likes him~

Whatever does she see in him???

Unless you're referring to the American kidvid host Mr. Rogers (unlikely), I'm missing something here....

It's a reference to British Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood. and an "AU" episode entitled "Adam"

It's really tough. For me, it's different for each adaptation. With Brett and Rathbone, I'd have to go with Holmes (obviously), but in the Guy Ritchie films I might prefer Watson just by a little bit. In Sherlock I don't think I could choose one. They are both played wonderfully and in that show, you really can't imagine one surviving without the other.

I must say that my fav character is Sherlock Holmes. I have been a fan of the whole series ever since I was a child, and saying so Sherlock is definitely my main man! Cumberbatch is definitely one of my favs though he is amazing at the part, a plus is that he is FINE ;) . If I had to choose a second it'd be Watson for sure, the reasoning for this is because I myself am interegued by Sherlock and his ways just as Watson is, so I have a understanding of Watson's actions.

I'll be predictable and say Sherlock, because I can relate very well to social awkwardness. (I'm going to say he's much smarter than me, though.) Then of course John, because I actually have a similar relationship with someone who (sometimes severely) tests the limits of my patience and loyalty. We're still buds.

Maybeee we'll all have to change our opinion on that topic after we've seen the solution to Reichenbach Fall. Even though I think I'd always pick Sherlock as my favourite character, I think Molly might be a good choice as well. ;)

Lestrade.

Just... Lestrade.

I have no idea how poor Greg puts up with Sherlock, but the fact that he does (and still respects him despite his obnoxiousness) means he automatically earns a spot in my favorite characters. That, and the fact that he had the guts to leave his wife after Sherlock was all "Yeah, by the way, she's sleeping with a PE teacher, Merry Christmas good buddy," means he's got a good deal of self-respect. Someone who risks their job for a suspected psychopath is probably a good person.

Have had quite a wrestling match with the cat. I tried to explain that he couldn't vote for himself, as there is no category for elderly neutored half blind Siamese cats who look like Dracula. (Very prominant over hanging fangs and very skinny) Even if he is my main squeeze. He's sulking now.

I had to vote for Watson. While I really like Lestrade and think he is underutilized, and have a real yen for characters in swishy coats( :lol2: ) I have always had respect for the Watson character.

He has not only become a doctor, but a battlefield surgeon. :lovedoc: He is also a hardened combat veteran. In the copious amounts of fic that I read there is a type of Watson known as BAMF!John. This is fic where John's past life comes through and is necessary to the plot. John has to fall back on what he was in Afganistan ; an army captain who just happens to have a medical degree.

I would be thrilled knickerless if Team BBC would reach back into Watson's past and use it. I think that Donovan and Anderson in particular need to have their noses rubbed into the fact that John is a real hero and a very compitent leader. It would be nice if Mycroft could acknowledge that as well. Sherlock should be surprised that he never deduced it.

No Azul! No! Not the fangs!! NO!!!! :skull:

Actually, haven't we seen John use his military experience already a time or two? Of course, it apparently doesn't register with Sherlock, at least not in any permanent sort of way. I mean, if Sherlock really thought of John as the man who saved him from himself the cabbie, would he have naively asked John to punch him in the face? (Got what he deserved, I think!) But I agree, would dearly love to see more. Would also very much like to see John's medical experience come into play, in solving a case and/or in providing something more than routine first-aid.

Ah -- Siamese cat => blue eyes = ojos azules. Gotcha!

I voted for Holems and I like his character and Benedict really much but I think I would prefer Moriarty espacially when he is played by Andrew Scott, because I like it when he changed his voice in such a short time from high to normal to a screaming voice like he did it in 'The Great Game' when sherlock and Moriarty met first. When talking about the film from Guy Ritchie I would allso prefer Watson cause Jude Law is doing his job very well. But in this film I hate the actor of Moriarty. When seeing this film I thought about Moriarty as a normal criminal, but he isn't. He Is one of the most important criminal in england and maybe in the world.

Oh how I adore that man with the razor cheekbones, but my all time favorite is Irene Adler (as evidenced by my profile picture).

The only woman who has the ordacity to flirt AT Sherlock Holmes.

John is good for a laugh but lacks that lovely, anyoying brillance of our favorite, self-proclaimed sociopath.

I god how I hate that Molly Hooper. Such a disopointment.

Irene is my favorite but Sherlock is lovely.

I can't really choose. The reason why I love the show so much is because all the characters are great and fit in perfectly. This show's Sherlock is absolutely brilliant. He is a genius, but a human one. He is - at times - unbelievably arrogant and uncaring, but you also feel that he has a heart, which makes him so lovable.

That being said, I have a soft spot for John.

Hello, Kathi -- welcome to Sherlock Forum! :welcome:

You're not alone -- in addition to loving the superb ensemble, I think quite a few of us have a special soft spot for John!

Are you two trying to outdo Mrs H? All this is making me blush! :watson:

Kathi, shall we tell John that he's really cute when he blushes?

Oh, sure. Respond when women are complimenting you, and NOT when your friend is actually complimenting you, apologizing, and asking for forgiveness. Really, John. It's incorrigible.

Ignoring the temptation to correct others' grammer and spelling... See, John? Again, I'm being considerate of others. And you're missing it. Again.

I had to vote for Sherlock. It's modern day Sherlock Holmes. That was the draw that got me watching in the first place. I love this frenetic version. Close to Jeremy Brett but with even more energy, of course this Sherlock is young yet has to mature some. But I also have to say a word for Martin Freeman's Watson. The perfect voice of reason when Sherlock is about to go over the moon, at times.
