Indonesian Elk Lodge?

I would have thought kiln too. Hmm. I'd guess glass blowing, but I see no sign of his/her work. Restaurant or hotel?

Posted

Gah, way too small, I cannot see what is on the pan.

Excuses excuses... :P

It looks more like someone's house, hut style. Otherwise I'd put it as little bakery.

Not those.

Not glass blowing, restaurant or hotel.

Indonesian Elk Lodge??? Errrrr...what is thaaat?

I understand every words on its own.

Indonesia..a country, yes. Elk, an animal. Lodge, place, some kind of cabin, yes.

But together err... do you mean tropical retreat for moose? :P

Are we talking about moose again? Look, it's interesting, but it's not that. XD

>> Excuses excuses...

Of course it is and now please post a twice bigger picture of the pan and the something on it. ^^

An Elk Lodge is like a social club for men; I think they mostly do good deeds for various causes, like holding a barbecue to raise money for cerebral palsy sufferers.

Is this a commercial establishment we're looking at, or a private one?

I don't have any.

What is in the pan would help, of course, but even without that it should be deduce-able, which is what I'm letting you all do. :p

Interesting. I have never heard of that actually, is it international or Indonesian? And most important question, is there any moose involved?

Is this a commercial establishment we're looking at, or a private one?

Hm hm.. I think it'd be leaning more to commercial.

No, that would be the Moose Lodge. :P Which is also a real, and similar, thing. As far as I know they're just in America, but I don't know that much.

Ah ha! That's very, um, not, informative ....

Those long poles or tubes are a bit odd, that's why I thought glass-blowing might be involved. Are they used to keep the fire hot by blowing thru them?

Posted

Not for blowing the fire, that would require tremendous strengh I suppose.

The reason why I said I am leaning to commercial is because this could very well be a private establishment too. But to answer your question and my question, yes, it's commercial.

P.S. so to confirm, Moose Lodge have moose? XD

Posted

Only in the sense that an Elk Lodge has an elk. :p

Are those long poles or tubes important?

Posted

Okay, I don't have good ome. But maybe this one can be interesting.

What is this place? Try to be specific.

The answer is not kitchen.

Looks like a traditional Japanese steam bath/spa. They burn the logs to create heat and steam for the spa/bath.

Looks more Indonesian to me.

It doesnnnnnnnn't???? :blanket: :blanket:

:p

Are those long poles or tubes important?

It is, but shouldn't deter/effect the deduction too much. It is supporting the activity/part of process for that place.

Looks more Indonesian to me.

You are probably accurate that this picture is more Indonesian or south east asia, however, the idea/concept of this place doesn't limit with certain country/region.

Aha. The "bed" like thing on the right.

Is this an archaic torture chamber? Strap victims to the bed and brand them with the long, hot tubes?

No?

A brothel? The "bed" is where they, um, do the deed?

Tattoo parlor? They make the tattoos with burning needles instead of ink?

Massage parlor? Hot massage? (Where are the towels, though?)

Or maybe the bed is to lie down on when you get fainting spells from constantly keeping a fire going in a sub-tropical environment?

You call that torture? So you obviously don't know what is archaic torture chamber then..:p

No?

Nope!

Looks painful for back. Maybe THAT is archaic torture.

Tattoo parlor? They make the tattoos with burning needles instead of ink?

Maybe it used to, but too bad it changes because the tattoo business was not exactly a brisk. So, what is it now? :p

Massage parlor? Hot massage? (Where are the towels, though?)

No. No touching is recommended here.

Or maybe the bed is to lie down on when you get fainting spells from constantly keeping a fire going in a sub-tropical environment?

Actually, that is more like it. I guess it's for sitting and lounging around. Not necessary from keeping the fire going though.

What about surelock's guess of what amounts to a sort of steam room/bath house?

... It is not a place to heat up branding iron for cattles, isn't it?

Oh dear. So sorry, actually I had replied to that in my draft (yes I checked my draft, done in Note apps) but somehow it dissappeared when I posted it and I didn't realize. Agh.

But that is not the answer.

And not for branding iron for cattles.

It looks like some sort of workshop but... Is it a candle-maker's?

Posted

Not candle maker.

It could be used as workshop but it's not the main purpose.

Posted

Okay ... I deduce they're not manufacturing anything, or the place wouldn't be so neat, clean and uncrowded.

That leaves a service industry of some kind. Not a kitchen, so not a restaurant, right? Or a fast food joint?

A repair shop? Something that needs to be heated to be repaired? Jewelry? Shoes(???) Naw, there would be more tools around, wouldn't there?

Er ... the clay pots and baskets ... are they important?

Posted

Not kitchen, not restaurant, not McDonald.

Not repair shop, yes repair shop should have more tools and materials and this is not.

Clay pots and baskets, they are supporting the function, so they are important in a way, but don't get too distracted with them.

Posted

You notice I've ignored them up til now. But I'm getting desperate. There's no clues in this picture! (Typical.)

Is the person at the oven (is that a man or a woman, by the way?) ... is that person making something that goes in the pots and baskets? Ingredients to something, maybe? Purified from something else, maybe?

Posted

Typical (to complain about the clues :p and find out later they are sufficient!)

The things in the pan could either come or go back to the pots or baskets, they are acting merely as container, place to carry or dry but they don't contribute to the making process.

Anyway, as mentioned, although it's certainly helpful to know what is in the pan, don't forget to look at other things too in the picture; maybe the human? It's a her btw, I think. The place, again?

Posted

Sheesh, what you think I been doing? Is the patch on her shirt important? No, of course not. Her smile? Hairstyle? You sure it's a her?

You know what ... she's heating something over heat. Ergo, it's a kitchen. What do I win? :p

Posted

One of the things you mentioned about her is important. THINK! :p

But you have to read a lot into it, then combine it with the surrounding, the place, the stuffs.

Little details help, but also look at the bigger picture. (I can see why this 'clue' is frustating :D)
