Good guess!

Eventhough there are variation with other animal (one of it is size of course), This particular one is associated with one kind of animal, and as you have guess, yes, giraffe. Well done.

But it is not finished :p

What is that and what for?

Okay, some options:

1. The giraffes are inside this thing, and the doors are to get the giraffes in and out. Or the doors are to feed them, and to let them stick their heads out.
2. The giraffes are outside this thing, and there's food inside. Or maybe people inside, and the doors are so they can see out and watch the giraffes.
3. It's something to do with catching giraffes, either for veterinary reasons, or scientific reasons, or maybe for zoos or something.
4. It's an interspecies social club....

Number 3 is the closest, but not for catching.

Interspecies social club? I want to be a member..!

Giraffe petting zoo? No, wait, you said it's work related. Hm. Frack.

Observing? This is where people sit/stand to observe giraffes? But why? Spying on their mating rituals?

Posted

Observing, could be.

Alright, we have found out that this thing is for giraffe specifically, although with different size and some customization or variations, other animals could also have it.

Where can we find giraffe? In a wild, and.. some conservation place or zoo.

This thing is fixed and not temporary. So it's less likely to be found in the wild.

Observing could be considered as part of what they are doing. What else? What else needed to be done to the animal that requires this thing?

The clues we have before, there could be some science involved, you need people with training/education to participate, at least two people, it's some kind of barrier, sturdy and could be uswd regularly. So.... it's on the tip of ny tongue..!

We already ruled out veterinary services, didn't we? And petting zoo.

Um ... a place to bathe them?

A maternity ward?

Barbershop?

(But wouldn't all of those fall under veterinary services?)

That's where they get tagged/branded/whatever so they can be identified later? Or a satellite monitoring collar? (Do people still brand animals? I hope not.)

Rec room? Where the animals go and hang out and watch Animal Planet?

FRIENDS IN A CAFE

2nbrh8m.jpg

Friends who are still in the process of knowing each other more? Because the body languages are still shy and awkward, especially for the girls and maybe the guy with hat.

Looks like a cafe that doesn't sell heavy food.

In reference to the cafe we can infer the it is an independent business based on the range of consumables on offer coupled with the clearly store bought mugs.

In reference to the group of people we can dispel the theory that they are new friends as the image is a stock photo there for the subject s have been brought together specifically for the photo.

However we can extract that all but the man at the back are right handed, for the first three subjects this becomes evident when you look for what hand holds the cup. For the final subject (the lady far right) we must infer the dominant hand by examining the action taking place, the action of stirring a drink is a cognitive action as apposed to a subjective one there for we can infer she is right handed.

Keeping with this subject if we look to the pattern on her jumper coupled with the fact they are all inside and drinking hot drinks we can assume that this picture was ment to be used as part of a winter advertising campaign.

Best I could do on first glance.

Okay.. another one.

These guys have same job.

2ilfu45.jpg

What is it..?

They are plasterers, the dust from wall plaster often levels a thick pulp like residue that is often mistaken for paint.

The easiest way to tell the difference is that paint becomes brittle and cracked when it drys on skin.

No we didn't, you gave me a fright so I went back to check those answers provided by everyone and nobody had guessed that, because IT IS veterinary service related...!

something to investigate the giraffe's health?

And yes..!

So basically this is some kind of barrier that is used to perform veterinary service/investigate animal's health. As far as I know, it is used to treat wounds, take blood sample, injection etc for animals that are not supposed to be man-handled/wild.

Called 'crush', sometimes squeeze cage, this thing basically restrict animal's movement to make them stand still. When animals are in position, one side (or more) is pushed towards the animal by sliding it. For the giraffe, since it's big and tall animal, multiple doors are introduced to access different parts of animals in this particular design.

So there.

Well done, both of you. Arcadia and Aurelie. :cowdance: :cowdance:

Next puzzle from either or both please.

Those are sound and pretty good analysis, and I buy what you said. Like your take on the cafe picture, the hands and weather and independent business.

A couple of earliest pictures can't be confirmed as none of us know the real answer but after those, we used real pictures so the posters know the right answers and let the rest do their deductions until the answers are right.

Second picture you guessed on is not exactly plaster, but close enough, those are residues from natural mineral or stone.

Oh, I see, I didn't actually guess "vet services." Okay, it all makes perfect sense now! I need a bigger brain. Wonder if Sherlock would loan me his sometimes.
