YESSSSSS!

You are Bilbo Baggins! You enjoy the comforts of food and home. You are a quiet type but considered odd by some. You are cautious but are willing to go great lengths for your friends. You never miss a chance for a good adventure and always see the good in everyone. Though you enjoy adventure you do not enjoy war. You have endured tragic loss of a friend. You are not the tallest person, but as Tolkien says: "It is not the strength of the body that counts but the strength of the spirit." You posses the One Ring, the most powerful object in the world although you are unaware of it. You fight with a short Elven blade forged in Gondolin that you have named Sting.

I get Gandalf too.

You guys are in LOTR fever, eh? :D

Nope, never watch nor read any LoTR materials before. ^^

I am, always. Always always....

So I'm not evil and I got Bilbo.  That sounds about right.

Here's one you guys might like to try:  Can We Guess Your Highest Education Level?

Damn thing hung up on me about 30 questions in, so I know neither what my score would have been nor even how many questions there are.  I'll try it again sometime, though, 'cause I'm curious what they'd say.

P.S.:  I'm virtually certain the woman in the page 1 photo is Emma Watson (having seen a photo of definitely-her in that same gear and lipstick).

I failed nearly all questions about classic literatures and American history XD

If this is PhD level... America, I am scared for your future

*nod* That certainly looks like Emma Watson

How many questions were there?  The ones I got to were largely answerable (with some judicious guessing) by people who have simply been around long enough to bump into the assorted subject matter (and an interest in language sure doesn't hurt).  So I agree with you -- and if 70% is a PhD, then what does 80 or 90% get you?

Posted

^^; Forgot to notice the number of the last question. But number 69, all self-respecting Sherlockians should be able to answer easily.

80-90% PhD summa cum laude at graduation? :D

Well, 83% gets you ... another PhD. :p

Oh, and there were 80 questions.

Good heavens -- and there I was thinking I was almost done when I got locked up just past #30.

I almost got locked up myself by the end. Too many ads, or something.

Where do I pick up my phD? :d

The third one. Only that it's Itch instead of Aitch. That's my feeling (a pun! Is that a pun?:p)

Couldn't get through the quiz too. But based on amount of Shakespeare, religion and American constitution, they would send me back to elementary school. Heck, I don't even know the first question. XD

Hello JimmyNeutron and welcome to the forum!

And I got the feeling that wasn't so much a general education as much as a "do you know Latin" quiz. I mean, I only have a sorta-B.E., and I got this:

I may not have heard of Antebellum but if you know what ante and bellum mean it's not exactly hard to guess , and this was the case with quite a number of questions.

I was particularly underwhelmed by "how many events are there in a decathlon?". But of course a lot of people aren't really into language.

I know antebellum and decathlon and such. There are quite a lot of education subjects related to those terms or similar.

Funny enough I think it's more widely known than Shakespeare. Shakespeare might seem like must known thing, well of course in Europe etc, but many parts of the world have their own poet, playwright and talent. Even when the name is known, and his plays, it needs interest in his style of work to know other details.

I did a lot of semi-guessing on the Shakespeare questions. I'm fairly familiar with Macbeth (from school), for example, so I could rule that out, and a couple of the other answers didn't seem to fit -- leaving only one possibility. But it was still a guess in the sense that I didn't actually know the answer.
