I'd bump out almost anything (well, not Sherlock, obviously, or Parades End, but almost anything else) for The King's Speech. It's a lovely film. And Helena Bonham Carter is wonderful as Queen Mum. I like her as an actress anyway; I'll watch the silliest Tim Burton flicks just for the sake of seeing her do her thing, and I sat through Les Misérables for the same reason.

Btw, has anyone seen "The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet"? Is it any good? I noticed the other day that the DVD has finally been released in my country with the original audio, and I almost bought it, but then decided to spend my money on Christmas presents instead.

Helena Bonham Carter?  Isn't she a bit young to be playing the Queen Mum?  Oh, wait a minute, you mean she plays the same woman, but before she was the Queen Mum, when she was still the Queen.  Gotcha.  The King's Speech does sound like a good movie.

Yes, exactly, sorry. That is what I meant. And yes, it is a good movie. One of the few that I could watch with every member of my family and all the in-laws and nobody would complain about it.

I really want to say this: A thousand thanks to those of you who kept mentioning they liked Tom Hiddleston. I owe you something. Because somehow that name got stuck in my head, and in the course of the last week I became a fan of him. I watched a number of interviews on youtube and think he has an amazing charisma and a wonderful attitude towards life and people. Until now I saw 3.25 of his films, and I only stopped the 0.25 one because the German dub was unbearable (and it was on the amazon streaming service, so no way to change languages). I hope that he'll get on with his movie career and impersonate some great complex characters. Wasn't there someone suggesting he could be Sherringford Holmes? At that time I was silently disagreeing because I don't want a third brother and I didn't want any famous actors on the show. But at least the famous actors part is now forgotten - I'd welcome him with open arms if he wanted to join the cast!

I also love that he and BC became friends after meeting while filming War Horse.  This confirms for me their mutual awesomeness.

No, I didn't know that. Thanks for posting the link! Actually, when I decided I should post a thank you here I had just finished watching that interview with NerdHQ that they often quote in your list  - because the quote about 2 lives is just beautiful and the impersonation of a velociraptor had me crying with laughter. So it was another great, inspiring and entertaining interview that featured a wonderfully balanced and intelligent person!

I'm dying at the Hiddles snake hips behind Sherlock.  *dead*

It's even better when you realize this is where Sherlock says, "Oh, forget him! He's an idiot!"

Oh, nice!  I didn't know that is what he's saying there.  Even better!

True!   and that's probably exactly what Sherlock would say if someone was messing around behind him like this while he was trying to concentrate on a case! :D

I did notice that when Sherlock is handed the phone on the plane, and is told only "It's your brother," he answers the phone with "Hello, Mycroft."  Of course, that was the brother he had just seen on the ground a few minutes ago....

If there had been another brother that Sherlock knew, he obviously wasn't in the picture anymore. It could also mean that the only 2 Holmes boys in existence (or the Sherlock knew of) were Mycroft & Sherlock.

As much as I really, really, really want to see a Hiddles Sherrinford, I will be really, really, really surprised if they even introduce a 3rd brother, at least a live 3rd brother.  Maybe we'll get the backstory on the other brother? The context of the conversation and the way Mycroft says "Don't be absurd. I'm not given to outbursts of brotherly compassion. You know what happened to the other one" leads me to believe the "other one" is deceased given that Mycroft is basically sending Sherlock off to his death.

Don't do that to me, Arcadia, don't do that! Not good! I'm sitting here, shocked and trembling, telling me that this is only a fan trailer and that it won't come true!:(

Maybe Mycroft shipped off the Other One, just like how he was going to with Sherlock!

Seriously?! Aaaahhhhhhhhh the emotions & the excitement. Must be patient especially with that date being UK not US more than likely.

Wha?  I thought series 3 aired here in January and earlier in the UK?   So I guess I was assuming it would be the same for series 4?
