Yeah, you'd think Mycroft would've noticed a thing like that missing, and had it deactivated. But this is the same man who takes a laptop full of secrets to Christmas dinner and leaves it lying about with a known criminal in the house. (Not to mention his inquisitive little brother.)

Things like this, I just decide Mycroft does it on purpose and wander dimly away thru the maze.....

Oh yes, decidedly Mycroft bringing that laptop to Christmas dinner was no oversight on his part. "On Purpose" without a doubt. As for "wandering dimly away".....now there....I doubt that very much.

I don't think it was an oversight, either -- it leads me to suspect that Mycroft was (very unofficially) in on Sherlock's plan, and merely faked being out cold.

Come to think of it, Sherlock had approached Magnussen about a visit to Appledore well before the Christmas get-together, so if he was planning to hand over Mycroft's laptop in exchange, he'd've needed some prior knowledge that it would be available.  Though I suppose that could have been a spur-of-the-moment idea.  Or perhaps he knew that Mycroft never goes anywhere without it?

If Mycroft really takes his laptop with him everywhere, he's definitely not much about the goldfish level he looks down on...

Yeah, I believe, too, that once again Mycroft was in on it. On some of the details, at least. Just too many things that seem fishy.

What I'd love to see in s4 is Mycroft screwing up for once. And get in serious trouble with his employers. Not because I dislike him but because it would be interesting. How Gatiss would portray that. And I'd love to see a more humble side of his. Just for a few minutes, then he is free to smugly rule the country once again.

Oh please yes. I want to see that so much. And see Sherlock do something great and get something right without his input.

I don't know, I can be pretty dim! :D

Oh, maybe you thought I meant Mycroft was wandering in a maze? I wish! One with no exit.

Poor Jim - not many people want see him return. (Well, not really poor Jim, because he is a homicidal maniac.....). I am one of the minority who would like to see him revived. I don't really care that much if it is a bit silly - after the silliness of the Fall's explanation, I don't think that rationality is a major issue here. They would have to be pretty clever, though, to come up with a good way that Jim managed to survive shooting himself in the head.

Oh, well, bring on the (even more) evil twin.....

No, no, no, no, no twins, evil or otherwise! I'd sooner have Jim himself back. In His Last Vow, we learned that if you really, really want to, you can survive fatal shots and come back to life. If, that is, you are Sherlock Holmes. Well, what he can do, Moriary can do as well, right? He probably just failed to hit a vital part of his brain. After all, people have rammed iron poles through their skulls and survived with only a change in personality. And this isn't even a realistic show.

Yay! Now  we're back to the Consulting Philanthropist theory! Jim only shot out the evil part of his brain, and now his life mission is to rescue Sherlock from Mycroft's machinations. This is my favorite theory yet....

Or from evil Mary. Because Jim is now a good samaritan, he wants to protect Sherlock from her evil scheme to kill him.

That's my favorite theory... Then Jim and Mycroft can work together to save the day. That way, Gatiss and Scott did not have to shake hands in vain. They now can use that filming material...

Pretty good for a fan-made video.

Hiddles as the other one! This, I wouldn't mind seeing.... :-)

So much of what I want to see has already been covered.  My personal wish list:

- Mary and Baby:  Gone, gone, gone

- Lots more Mycroft and Sherlock

- Lots more John and Sherlock actually being friends

- Victor Trevor (thank you Zain)

- No more Irene Adler

- More of the Holmes parents

- Moriarty returns or not, I am open either way

- The third Holmes, again, fine either way

- Would be open to meeting Harry Watson

- More development of the relationship between Sherlock and Molly (not romantic...just...more)

I have been watching the Jeremy Brett TV series and I love that iconic violin theme song.  So #1 on my wishlist is:

-Sherlock giving a shout out to that series by picking up the violin, gazing out the window, and playing the theme, come on, even just a few notes!!

That would really be amazing and a joy to hear our Sherlock playing the Jeremy Brett Holmes theme indeed!

I agree!  They've already "borrowed" some dramatic moments from that series, so Moftiss would presumably be agreeable to it.  Hopefully there wouldn't be much of a hassle over the rights.  Hmm, seems I heard a while back that if you use fewer than eight notes, it doesn't count (which I'm assuming is why tv shows so often cut in for just the last line of the "Happy Birthday" song -- only six notes!).  But intellectual-property laws have changed so much lately that I have no idea whether that still holds.

I just surfed the web and the Granada Sherlock Holmes theme is available in sheet music so there should be no problem in BC getting his hand on a copy and doing some practicing.

Good!  (And he'd need to get a copy for his violin teacher as well, since she'd be the one playing it for the soundtrack.)  Hopefully they could work out the broadcast rights just as easily.

One would hope that at some point he would be good enough to play for the soundtrack himself. That would be really nice.

This one's for you, T.o.b,y, since I know how much you're looking forward to it :P (source):

Wonder if that is foreshadowing, too?

If there's no bees in the country waiting for Sherlock, does that mean he will not live to retire?

Just a thought.
