But I'm still here, though it's been touch-and-go a few times (I think this is the longest stretch I've ever been this active on one forum).  So maybe you'll still be here for Series 4 too -- or hopefully you'll at least be back!  (Or maybe I'll have finally wandered off?)

I'm sure I'll be back as a viewer ... I'll always have a warm spot for excellent TV ... but as to whether I'll still care as much for the characters and their "lives" remains to be seen, I guess.  I still watch my Buffy reruns ... well, DVDs and Netflix ... although I no longer participate in any fan forums or read the steamy fanfic ;) .

I'm really afraid of the day when series 4 airs.

In series 1 all the three episodes made me gasp (1, 2, 3)

In series 2 there were only two of them (1 and 3)

And in series 3 only one was just that exciting (3)

3, 2, 1...

I hope that's not going to be 0 brilliant episodes in the series 4 :(

I hope you give Season 3 a chance, some people think it gets better after you watch it a few times! I'm really starting to think it might be my favorite, but I didn't think so at first.

Yah, but if Josh suddenly came out with a new season of Buffy you might, no? Assuming it was any good, of course. And it would be pretty hard to explain why Spike and Angel had aged ..... :P

Or, if they've reached bottom, maybe they'll just start back upwards?

I've already watched it for two times so I can agree with that. And yet only S03E03 made me gasp.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks :)

I thought we all agreed "the bottom" was The Blind Banker? :D

Not all... my personal downer was The Empty Hearse. I like The Blind Banker just fine... :)

Same here, except mine was Vow. I kinda like Banker, as long as I don't concentrate on plot logic or other such trivialities. It has a certain colourful charm .

Well, I admit I always wanted to know what happened to Buffy during that last season of Angel, so I'd probably go along for the ride.  And ... I'm partial to Josh and his more fun characters ... I don't understand at all why Firefly didn't catch on.  As for Spike and Angel ... David Boreanaz isn't looking too bad yet ... getting tired of it but still watching Bones ... but I haven't seen James Marsters in years.  Maybe I'll pop into morethanspike.com if it's still there and see what he's up to.

Wow !!  I've never seen Torchwood but have to say, if it's current, he's still looking pretty good. :D

Yeah, we may run out of things to discuss before the time they start filming series 4 and the first pics appear (though I rather doubt we'll reach any consensus on Mary any time soon) but we can still serve as an addicts-on-withdrawal self help group in the meantime .

Well, I've only been drowning in this show since I discovered it a month ago.  I downloaded all episodes via Itunes plus some of the music.  I am pretty much to the point where I just don't even see BC anymore.  I just see Sherlock.  This separate entity.  I am thinking of buying a Sherlocked t-shirt, and I am a 55 year old woman saying what the heck is wrong with me????  I've seen a silhouette t-shirt of the big Sherlock/Molly kiss that says something like "Hair tossle, collar flip, kiss"  Gotta get one of those on a t-shirt too.

But what would I like to see in series 4?  Maybe it's more of what I don't want to see.  I'd love to have the thing with Mary just settled and done with, but as Mary and the child die in the original canon, I don't hold out a lot of hope for them continuing with her as a character.  But I like her, and Sherlock has forgiven her, as has John, so I'd like to keep her.

And maybe I'm crazy but I'd like to see something with Sherlock and Molly.  Her character has really developed into a strong woman.  Not sure she could have ever slapped Sherlock in ASIP, but she lays into him in HLV,  I mean, have you really looked at those first 3 slaps?  They get progressively harder, and she doesn't take any bull from him.  In many ways he and Molly are a match.  She's the only one he lets his guard down with, and that great scene in the stairwell where he thanks her.  Not a hint of snarkiness.  Just being a really decent, normal human being.  I'd like to see more moments of that, especially with her.

I don't want to see John becoming a widower and moving back in with Sherlock.  Poor John has suffered enough.  Let him have his own place in the world and be happy.

I would like to get more hints about Sherlock as Mycroft's growing up years.  Would love to see the parents again.

Have you seen him in Torchwood?

I think I've seen this scene before. Except wasn't Buffy a girl at that point? :D

Well the building survived this time, he's getting soft :D.

Yeah, the ending was a little different. ;)

 ... while that is definitely on my "what I don't want to see" list. Don't get me wrong, I love, admire and adore Molly Hooper, but for her and Sherlock to work out as a couple, he'd have to become so much of a decent, normal human being that he'd cease to be Sherlock Holmes and I'd cry for the loss of him. I'm terrible, it seems, because I often don't want exactly those developments that would make my beloved characters happy.

I do want Molly happy, though. And, just incidentally, Lestrade as well. Now, couldn't those two...?

God, I'm beginning to feel like Emma Woodhouse...

I can't answer your question, but you sure fit in just fine here!  :P   We pretty much run the age gamut of people who use the internet.

Sherlock Forum without Carol the Dabbler? England would fall! :sherlock2:

Well... i know what Sherlock would say about dating anyhow - BORING!  BORED!  So, the unconventional becomes the rule of the day with him.  But spending time in the labs can be construed as a fringe type of dating...sort of.  Well, they are in the same room interacting.  Sort of.  LOL.  And seriously, TEH played with that flirting thing between them during the whole time at Shilcott's flat.  Little side glances and smiles between them.  The "girlfriend" remark that made both of them very nervous.  Lovely scene between them.  And then the stairwell scene afterwards was even lovelier.

She doesn't put up with his being a smart-ass and pushes right through in her great little dialogue in TRF about how she can see he's sad when he thinks John isn't looking.  She can SEE him and she doesn't stop talking even when he puts her down in the middle of it.  She just pushes until she breaks through and rattles him for a moment.  She gets his attention and even gets him to say "thank you" but she knows where she stands, and even after his ears are starting to listen, she shuts him off.  She cracked the shell on his heart a little.

While I think you've summed up their relationship beautifully, I disagree with your interpretation of this particular bit. My take is that they are both scoffing at the idea that Mr. Shilcott would have a girlfriend, apparently because he seems pretty geeky. (Odd that those particular two would think that disqualifies him!)  Of course, I suppose shared scoffing (or sharing an opinion of any sort) facilitates bonding -- so it could be both scoffing AND flirting!

Alex thinks his girlfriend might be the Goth-ish gal from Anderson's circle, by the way.

Hmm, I didn't see anything I would call flirting, but I did think they took a step closer to actual friendship. Which would make me happy.

Yup, you can see Molly's reaction when he kisses her in the stairwell....then when she looks after him as he walks away afterwards. She knows that she will always like him.....but she seems to have come to terms with the fact that he really isn't "boyfriend" material. She knows he's trying and he does care but she has felt that cold shell of his far to many times be able to ignore it any longer. But friends.....yes....absolutely yes. His apology at the Christmas party....the first time anyone ever got one from him so it would seem....speaks volumes. As does the fact that he looks hurt when she says that she doesn't count.

But she is the one person who never gave up on him.....never turned her back on him and just walked away. He could trust her....and it did count....a lot...even though he...being emotionally stunted....is just learning how to let her know how much.

Now, that's a theory! Glad to learn that I'm not the only wannabe matchmaker around... I liked that girl, by the way; if they want more women, like they said, they're welcome to give her a second appearance.

Sherlock is rather kind to it's geeks, isn't it. The train guy has a life, apparently, a love life, even, and he's really useful to Sherlock in The Empty Hearse. And all the people in Anderson's "fan club", outrageous as the details of their theories might be, were, in essence, right: Sherlock Holmes was alive the whole time.

Come to think of it, conspiracy nutters theorists are often right on the show. Think of Henry Knight's father, for example.
