Aw, what a good kitty, he's keeping the pizza warm.

Looks more like a houseplant!

I had a cat who would eat just about anything from the plant kingdom, so I had to give up houseplants and bouquets (since some surprising things are toxic to cats).  His favorite food was broccoli stems, lightly steamed, but he was also very fond of tomatoes, asparagus, and green beans.  I once fed him broccoli stems and people-tuna for his birthday dinner, and he snarfed down the broccoli first.

Cats are insane. I had one that ate roses, every time we got a bouquet we'd forget, leave it out, and come back to find half the stems stripped of their petals. I had another one who would risk anything to get into the margarine. Turn your back for a second, he'd be up on the table, licking away. And another one -- no, wait, it was the same one -- rubber bands. You couldn't leave him alone for a second with a rubber band or it would be halfway down his throat. How that cat survived I'll never know. He swallowed about two feet of string one time, I thought for sure I'd be rushing him to the vet. He took a nap, woke up about 10 minutes later, meowed miserably twice, then curled up and went back to sleep. Strong stomach juices, apparently.

Oh, and when he ate a bird ... the whole thing. Beak, feathers, feet, the works. Amazing, really. This was the same cat who would chase his own tail, catch it, bite it, then cry because it hurt. Then do it again. I loved that cat.

The same boy who loved bouquets and veggies would also eat any plastic bags that we accidentally left out (his favorites were recycling code #4 LDPE). Claudie would literally bite chunks out of the bags, and I'd find them later in, shall we say, the litter box.

You sure we didn't know the same cat? He once caught a bird that had somehow gotten into our screen porch. I came home from work and found a few feathers scattered on the bed. The rest of the bird showed up in the litter box next day.

Nope, that was a different cat. She would literally "corner" her tail in a corner of the room so she could catch it, and then follow it around in circles while making weird gurgling noises in her throat. We'd hear that noise at night and know that Camilla had caught her tail again. She was a real sweetie. So was Claudie.  And he treated her like his little sister.

Camilla and her half-sister loved anything in the melon family, even cucumbers. One time when they were kittens, I set a little plate of cucumber slices on the kitchen table and had barely turned back to the counter when I heard a couple of thumps -- it was them jumping down off the table, each with a mouthful of cucumber slices.  Could not be angry, they were so cute.

My brother's cat played with a bird once and let it go.  I think I saw her do the same with a mouse.  Usually she caught the mouse then we would find it later.  And it was not fun when I found one of them she left with my bare foot.

Oh man, I've done that! Yeeeek! At least the mouse was intact, but still.... :o

Unfortunately this one was only half there and I didn't find the furry half. :(

What is it with cats and boxes? The cat we had when I was little would try to squeeze into any cardboard container we left lying around, no matter how obvious it was that she would never fit in. Than she'd somehow propel herself and the box around the house.

Cats are antidepressants on four legs, if you ask me. They always make me laugh. But for something to love, give me dogs any day. I am a dog person, definitely.

Oh yes. And paper bags. I've had cats that spent hours in paper bags; playing, sleeping, bathing ..... What is it, the smell of cheap cardboard/paper? They're weird, I tell you. Weird!

I'm equally cat/dog person.  A friend of mine had a cat where I was its human and I didn't even live in that house.  Then the 2 fun memories of my brother's cat:  The time she jumped up into the main floor laundry shoot (where she loved to sit and watch you & occasionally bat at you) and fell down it into the utility sink in the basement (she was fine) and the time she fell in the still wet tub (she didn't like it and was a combo indoor/outdoor cat so had claws & used them during her rescue).

I don't think it's the paper or cardboard. We have a little plastic basket that our cats just love squeezing themselves into (and I do mean squeezing). I think they just like to feel cozy.

True, mine used to climb into the Easter basket when we got it out. She also made a nest for herself under the Christmas tree every year. I guess she just liked the holidays!

That cat behind the lady doesn't look happy so maybe she should be watching out.
