Sheridan, thanks to your unique name, I found your facebook page, and am pleasantly amazed to see that the two of us have stood at the exact same spot in Bristol!  I'm the one on the left (with a bad case of hat hair), along with Forum administrators Banshee and Undead Medic (AKA Tim).

Sheridan! Oh my goodness, I didn't know that name really existed. I only knew it from the Britcom "Keeping Up Appearances". It's the name of main character Hyacinth's son, whom you never actually see.

Welcome!

Hey, my user name is this shaman guy from a great British TV programmer that has (unfortunately) ended now called The mighty Boosh. I loved the character and also it's my name on Reddit so I just like to carry it on. If anyone else is a fan of the show then I'd love to talk to you (or just generally talk, but fans are fairly rare so it's always good to find someone).

My avatar is the Lenny Face (aka: deg deg) because, well, isn't he wonderful?

Hello, naboo -- welcome to Sherlock Forum!  :welcome:

I think you're very logical to use the same screen name on multiple sites.  Goodness knows how people with a different name for everything can keep them all straight.  (As you might guess, I'm Carol the Dabbler everywhere.)

I always thought it was a bit boring to use the same one but honestly it's just that much easier when you don't have 23 different aliases.

My user name has been with me since I first started using forums I think. It's a reference to the X-Files, which was the first series I ever completely fell in love with - I had posters and an X-Files desktop theme on my computer including UFO shaped mouse pointer, haha. Tunguska is an episode of said series as well as a real life astroid impact event in Russia. Sadly, the name was already taken on some of the more recent boards I joined but I could once again be Tunguska here!

My avatar is a picture of the Preikestolen in Norway. I was there earlier this year for a conference and thought it was stunningly beautiful. Also, I had no idea what kind of avatar to choose for a Sherlock forum.

Hello, tunguska -- welcome to Sherlock Forum!  :welcome:

I like your avatar.  It's distinctive, a refreshing change from all the Sherlocks, and as you say, beautiful.  I suppose if you ever decided to change, you could use a picture of the Tunguska event (Google Images brings up a whole bunch, including this one).  But you really can't beat beautiful scenery.

I was wondering if your name was an X-Files reference!  Hello and welcome to the forum from another X-Phile.  :)   X-Files was and still is my one true tv love, although I really love Sherlock quite a bit too.

Lol, sittything, laughed a bit at your user name - that may actually be one of my favourite Sherlock moments :') I should really rewatch the X-Files some day, I loved it so much! I probably still have some home taped episodes on VCR somewhere... if only I had a VCR player...

Do you have access to Netflix streaming or Amazon Prime?  They have all the season on there, just not the movies.

I just rewatched the whole series myself this past summer.  :)  Mulder and Scully, still breaking my heart since 1993.  lol

Good idea! I have Netflix and the Dutch version only licences the 'I want to believe' movie (at a 1.5 star rating ) but my friend knows how to use an American proxy so I'll give that a go. Now THAT will be a trip down memory lane!

Not complaining about the Dutch Netflix though, it has all seasons of Sherlock

Why would they only have IWTB?  Why? Why? Why?  Did you see it?  It's not terrible, but that's not the note I want X-Files to go out on.  I'm still waiting for Chris Carter to fix everything.  Wishful thinking?  lol

I think I saw it when it first came out but it's going on the rewatch list!

Shadow Dweller from past role as alliance strategist in an online war game; basically my part was to analyse situation based on reports from the battlefield, diplomatic & espionage divisions, and then make the whole jumble actually make sense for our illustrious leader  :D  I advise  and recommend course of action in regards of our allies and potential competitors, how to deal with them in the short and long run, when on the same time often engaged in messing with other players' mind in the name of the alliance's interest (hence the 'Without fail, in light, shadows must follow'  signature, means that I take care the dark side of the otherwise the paragon of virtue-type of alliance).

Avatar... because I am a female and also often seen as harmless, a good thing in my line of 'work'  :P

Travian  ^_^  Afraid I cannot take credit for that avatar since it was found a long time ago somewhere.

Well, at least you have excellent taste in choosing an avatar.

Ah, Travian, I remember trying that one ages ago because a couple friends were playing it - seems there are a lot of new features now (I sure don't remember heroes). Was a bit too PVP-centric for me, but otoh that tends to make for rather tight-knit communities .

Indeed, almost every old players know each other's strengths & weaknesses. Competition tends to become vicious though, and often spill to real life. Addictive ^^

Oh, yes, I remember playing Travian, too.
I started as an assistant to my brother who was very good in it. He left me notes about what to build and what to do if this or that...
I've tried to play it myself about 5 times - I was really bad at it. But it was very addictive - whenever I was around a computer I was like "Can I pleeease check my Travian? I have to build another farm and send an attack!" :D

Heh, yeah! Coordinated attacks, more than a thousand same-second landing with catapults to raze village to the ground. Non-stop fake attacks for months, war of attrition guaranteed to frazzle nerves enough to send some people into hospital-stay and thus leave central command to the already-compromised second leader. Plant incriminating evidence and massive smear campaign to get rid of nuisance; layer upon layer of subterfuge and traps, under the table dealings, bribery and 'persuasion', Jim Moriarty would approve for sure.  :lol4:

Oh wow. That is written in such an epic way. :D I never thought about Travian so... thoroughly. Now I see how much you were (are?) 'into it'. :)
