Ben nearly spilled the beans a couple months ago, however.

How so?

This is the quote that tipped me off that it was more than an engagement... that he's known for a bit.

“I’ve obviously had the most important news of my life as far as my life goes. But that’s also sort of private, I don’t want to talk about that too much, but my engagement to the woman I love is obviously the most important thing of 2014 for me.”

Do we have a photo thread? I couldn't find it.  Anyway I LOVE this photo, had to share.

^ Yes, I love that too! The photo - to me - is like he is good and she is evil (black and white, light and dark...) I don't mean to say that she is evil - you know what I mean... :D
And he has this sexy look and his eyes are so beautifully blue...

However, the first thing I thought when I saw the photo was A.I.: Artificial Intelligence.

That was a fun short article.  Wish it were longer.  Wouldn't surprise me if he had thought back to when he was 4 or other kids he's known at that age.

Benedict is confirmed as a Golden Globes presenter on Sunday night.

I assume he'll be presenting in the comedy or television categories -- seems like Imitation Game is up for just about everything else!

Maybe he'll present for Best Actor in a Mini-Series or TV Movie.  I would dearly love to see Martin Freeman win that one (for Fargo) -- regardless of who's presenting!

(Here are all the nominations.)

Wouldn't that be lovely if he presented the award for the category Martin was nominated for and Martin  won it?  Sweet moment!!!!

That would really be a sweet moment to have Benedict present the award that Martin won.  So do we know if Martin will be at the Golden Globes as well?

I don't know... Maybe could ask Amanda @CHIMPSINSOCKS

I believe somebody said that MF would be there, but I have no idea what their source was.

Here's a new video that just popped up...

Apparently Ben and Jennifer Anniston will be the first presenter "couple" at the GG.

Still have not heard one way or the other about Martin's attendance.

This is an older transcription of an article, but Louise interviews Ben at the Cheltenham Literary Festival.  Pre S3.

So although Twitter was anxiously awaiting pics of BC at the EEBAFTA tea, he did not show.  Technically he wasn't on the program, but rumors were that the program wasn't official and that lots of expected guests weren't on it.  There was also supposedly a GG rehearsal today, so that may have provided a scheduling conflict.  Hard to say.

You don't know how happy I am to finally see a (sort of) transcript of this interview, as the video is nigh impossible to understand. Plaudits to someone for figuring it out!

During this interview, Brealey asks Cumberbatch if he's ever used a tear stick, and he says no, he hasn't.  I had never heard of such a thing, so I had to look it up.  It looks like a lipstick, but it contains menthol & camphor, which is irritating to the eyes, so if you apply it to your upper cheeks, it will make your eyes water.  Don't think I'd care for that!

I suspect that young Louis Moffat used a tear stick.  The tear placement on his cheeks didn't look quite right.
