I'm trying to remember now...oh, didn't they read together at Cheltenham literary fest or something?

Yes, they definitely read the letters together before.

It would be cute to hear Amanda and Martin read them as well.

I just know that Martin and Amanda met one day, traded contact info, and when Amanda had to leave she got a text a while later saying, "You left before I finished flirting with you. That's rude" or something like that.

Stephen Fry  (once upon a time Hugh Laurie's  partner in comedy) once gave BC second prize in a reading contest and he will be hosting the BAFTAS, but in the Radio Times interview he said neither he nor BC can remember why, and anyway, in real life our hero is naturally much better at social niceties than his impersonation of Sherlock!

I don't see that on IMDb -- is it a play?

Not exactly a play.  It's a public reading of love letters.  However, it may get recorded as an audio book.

I see hair that is more than 1 inch long. Hope flourishes.

It's amazing to me how many publications are already calling them Mr. & Mrs., even though they aren't officially married yet...but it's coming soon, very soon.  I'm crossing my fingers for Feb. 14.  How great that it's on a Saturday.  I've heard a rumor that they will wed before the Oscars... but it's only a rumor.

In the meantime, she is looking more and more elegant on the red carpet.

So, according to his schedule, Richard III takes precedence over Sherlock S4! Just perfect! A hunchback accused of having his own nephews killed, while the whole Sherlock world twiddles their collective thumbs and hopes that the Christmas special will come out all right in the end! What must his agent have been thinking?

(Not seriously at all, but...) "let's see, if he get's this project, then there's this cut. And if this get's done, then there's that amount."

(Seriously)

Sometimes it a project the actor wants and then they try to get it to fit into their crazy schedule despite any feedback from the agent.

Uh-oh, what did I miss? I thought he was done with Richard III already? He's got Hamlet coming up this year, but that's been in the works for ages. As far as I know, the thing that MAY mess with the Sherlock schedule is Dr. Strange. Is that even confirmed, though?

I'm fairly certain Dr. Strange is confirmed.  It's currently listed in pre-production on IMDb with a 2016 release.

ETA:  Hamlet is running 8/5 - 10/31.  I'm beginning to wonder if all of his unhappy looking set photos having nothing to do with Sherlock specifically, but are merely a product of being overwhelmed and having an overbooked schedule.  I hope if he needs it for his sanity he cuts back.

I don't know what's up, but he does look pretty dead-eyed and miserable lately.  I hate to see any person feel that way.

Yes, agreed on the schedule.  It is possible that it will be less stressful for him after the wedding and the baby (although lack of sleep will really start at that point which will have it's own stress).

He'll have a new baby and be thrown into long rehearsals for Hamlet starting in early July, and he'll have 4 months of a grueling schedule for Hamlet, and although I know he is looking forward to it, I'm sure he's wishing he could put it off a bit and spend more quality time at home with Sophie and the baby.  When the tickets went on sale, Sophie wasn't pregnant.

Hamlet is a stage play, that would not be a major obstacle in the way of filming Series4, but Richard III for BBC 2 in their Hollow Crown series is set to film this year because it is scheduled before Dr. Strange, and it does not seem to have been completed yet.

Richard III for The Hollow Crown is done.  He finished that just before Christmas.  No production dates have been announced for S4, but it is assumed to be after Hamlet, which means a winter shoot, which could mean Chistmas figuring into another episode.  They do like Christmas.

You mean they will get Arctic temperatures again, like at the very beginning, with the Great Game and the mini Ice-Age? How appropriate, to finish as they started!

As long as he doesn't get pneumonia again!  Good grief, you can hear how sick he was in ASIP, especially in the scene at Angelo's.
