The photobombing idea is cute, but it's starting to age a little.  I think he can retire that one.

Interviewers can also stop asking him about the "Cumberb*tches," and/or he can stop talking about that name setting back feminism.  If modern womens' rights can be set back by a tongue-in-cheek semi-naughty reference to his own name, then it's foundations are truly set on sand.  Time to move along and take a cue from Sherlock:  focus on The Work.

I don't know if there are any audio clips of him when that Star Trek stroller/pram comes out.  Would like to have heard that bit.

I like the gift he got for the baby.  That was brilliant and so not conducive for family walks when you want to try to maintain some privacy out in public (and we are not even going to talk about trying to get it home to the UK).

Same here.  Don't think there was as they headed to a commercial pretty quickly with that bit.

no, there's no audio, unless Ellen releases that clip separately at some point.

Okay, has anyone seen Ben's piece, SMALL ISLAND?  I'm thinking of ordering it.

Yes I enjoyed it. It was done well.

This could be a rumor, but I just had a bit on the Twitter feed that BC and SH are planning on getting married just before the Oscars.

I've never noticed before that Sherlock Holmes and Sophie Hunter share their initials. And the moment between reading the text above and noticing this coincidence I was a bit like wtf  !?   ;)

Yes, when one reads SH, better figure out which context!

Ben tries on new names on Jimmy Kimmel

That was great, and no, the name doesn't make one bit of difference.

Can I just say again how desperately I'd love to see BC in a good comedy?

You thought perhaps that "Sign of Three" was a bad comedy?

Okay, okay, another comedy. (And one that doesn't have such a sad ending...)

The key is GOOD comedy.  Because most of what Hollywood is trying to pass off as comedy is piss-poor on the comedy.  Then again, so far he's chosen very smart projects, so perhaps he'll find a good one.

Amen to that. The only really good comedies I've seen lately have all been animated films.

BC hasn't ever been in anything really cringe-worthy, has he? Smart boy.

From what I've seen of his work so far, he has picked good roles & did them well.

He needs something like Mrs. Doubtfire or When Harry Met Sally.  I'd even like to see him do a remake of "It Happened One Night."  Supposedly there is talk of remaking that.  He'd be perfect for that Clark Gable role.

Oh, Carol, could you please explain what you find even remotely funny in that thing except poor Benedict having to do such a monologue for days on end during the filming? The Guardsman story and the Mayfly Man story are ok, but except for his interaction with little Archie, his response to Mycroft ("I am not a child any more") and his self confession at the very end to John and Mary about not needing him around now that they are having a real baby on the way, which all go to show that he has a peculiarly childish side to his character, what else is even remotely funny in this indifferent adaptation of The Sign of the Four? It is one of the times where I completely agree with the Radio Times voters. Sorry to displease you!

BC in a post-Golden Globes radio interview on "Fresh Air" - talks Turing and Sherlock

http://londonphile.tumblr.com/post/108752278856/npr-benedict-cumberbatch-on-alan-turings

Ha, a friend of mine just sent me a link to that. If anyone else, like me, had trouble loading the tumblr site, you might want to try this link to the NPR site: http://www.npr.org/2015/01/21/378660368/benedict-cumberbatch-on-alan-turings-awkwardness-and-sherlocks-sex-appeal?utm_source=npr_email_a_friend&utm_medium=email&utm_content=20150121&utm_campaign=storyshare&utm_term=

That page also has transcripts, and links to other interviews, reviews, etc. on TIG, Sherlock, and the Hobbit movies. Good old NPR!
